Prior to Meltwater, my team relied on Google Alerts and manual searches to monitor for our hard-earned media coverage. Ultimately, it got the job done, but it was tedious, time consuming and I knew we were leaving placements on the table. Meltwater totally changed that for us. Now, we have 24/7 monitoring of our keywords - as well as important industry terms that we rarely had realtime visibility into. AND that's just the monitoring part of Meltwater. Our merchandising and reporting has completely evolved (much more professional!) now that we have access to Reports and Newsletters - both of which are curated for us, saving us valuable time.

Meltwater has been helped a great deal for us, be it usi in social listening or orm or caompaign management. its features are amazing and gives data realt time manner, which lacks in most of the industry tools not a days. It's incredibly helpful to have a one-stop-shop for monitoring brand coverage (and being able to filter by coverage type!), setting up press release wires, and media list building all in one tool. I use meltwater virtually every day in my role and in many ways it blows other PR tools out of the water. It's easy to navigate and customer support is always on deck to help with any roadblocks. The only things I would change are the limitations - you can only download so many contacts per month, and adding more than 500 contacts to a given media list is tedious since you have to add them in batches, which can be difficult given the limitations of the search function. As someone who likes to build large, comprehensive media lists for cross-referencing, this can be a struggle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Meltwater has a wide range of tools for media monitoring and competitor analysis. It's been very useful to me as a resource in my industry and to help me keep on top of public perceptions. There is such a flurry of features that it can be hard to differentiate between different navigation views, search types, pages, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The tracking of chatters about the brand/topics/hashtags that would be useful to know in terms of brand perception from the public and what topics are highly mentioned, and the measure of stats under Engage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
-Boost function on the platform does not seem to help. Still need to go to native platform to adjust campaign settings before able to boost the post. Counter productive process for boost on the Meltwater platform.
-Some missing stats on Measure - i.e. average reach, average min. viewed, followers gained per post. Hopefully, MW is able to track paid performance for platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn and Youtube too, not just for Facebook, and to include stats such as CPM, cost per click, etc.
-Can possibly include a local benchmark feature to add in our dashboard under Measure for our reference - i.e. benchmark for average min. viewed locally or to define what is good engagement rate for each platform, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I appreciate the platform because it compiles all the necessary tools to manage the process before, during, and especially after working on a PR campaign or even a new product launch in the market. I like that they not only have all the solutions for clients but also keep them updated, staying abreast of the latest trends and technologies. The feeling is one of security in decision-making and data gathering. The support and internal team are always quick and focused on finding solutions, very attentive. That the licenses are not flexible when it comes to acquiring exactly what the client needs, meaning that when more functions are required, one has to pay more and ends up acquiring additional tools in the license that are not necessary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Meltwater's inclusion of free training and help through Meltwater Academy and mCommunity were crucial elements in my success in my new position. Not a lot of similar products include on-boarding and training like this, so it was very easy to learn and start building the day to day searches and reports I needed. As the most frequent user of Meltwater on our team, there were a few times where I needed the assistance of a Meltwater rep and I found that the customer support was extremely helpful, timely, and often above and beyond. Unfortunately most of Meltwater's features go beyond what we need for our smaller organization. We do not use Meltwater for our social media listening, so those features go unused. As a smaller organization that is not consumer facing, our media monitoring needs are a bit different, and we have found that Meltwater's growth, while fantastic, is outpacing us. I really appreciate that the platform brings everything I need together in one place, making it easy to avoid juggling multiple platforms. It's great that I can analyze and schedule social media posts, as well as receive detailed reports on our performance. It can be a bit challenging to get used to the platform, and it might feel a little confusing at first. Overall, the product works quite well. That said, there are times when the scheduling feature for social media might experience some technical hiccups and could benefit from a little review now and then.
