I do enjoy the planning functions in Meltwater. I appreciate being able to have almost all of my accounts on the same platform - it makes it very easy to stay organized. I enjoy access to Meltwater Academy courses and our account support is second to none! Dani. Josh, and Chris have always been so helpful. I also appreciate the data analytics side of the service. It has been very helpful for me when reporting to my higher ups on social performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lately, my biggest frustration with Meltwater has stemmed from the Engage/Publish tab. Half of the time I try to attach a link to one of my scheduled posts, it doesn't work. It's very frustrating, because I have to go to the actual platform to schedule it. Then I'm back to square one of not having all of my platforms on the same service. Additionally, I'm often now allowed to attach specific photos to posts as they're "too big", again making me go through the actual platform to schedule. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's great for data collection and monitoring. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It does not have the ability to pull expansive Instagram and Facebook data due to Meta privacy policies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ease of having everything in one place is my favorite thing about Meltwater. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I with that there was a way to get more specific and targeted searches without having to go through all of the manual search steps. I want that to be more streamlined. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The design of the platform, it allows myself to see easily what i need in terms of performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Well, dashboards have a limitation in terms of graphics. In addition, i often have some missing articles... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that Meltwater gives me a morning recap every morning of what news I may have missed with my company being in the news. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No complaints - using Meltwater is realy easy and functional. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Very easy to use and customise to the needs or a PR agency. Excellent customer service, building complex Boolean searches can be tricky and they provide extensive training and documentation on how to make the most of the search tools.
The analytics dashboards help condense vast amounts of data in graphs and charts easy to understand for clients and stakeholders who may not be overly familiar with PR lingo. The analytics charts built into the search/explore function help speed up the analysis massively, teams can spot trends in seconds by looking at mentions over time, topic clusters and frequent keywords.
The alert and newsletter function is simple to set up and maintain, an excellent tool to keep PR teams abreast of what is happening in a sector/industry on a daily basis, or to alert teams of brand/product mentions and avert potential crisis. Newsletters can also be branded to offer a more perosnalised experience to clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Social media monitoring is limited and I wouldn't rely on Meltwater alone to do in-depth social monitoring.
There are some issues with how publications are categorised (blogs instead of news outlets, and UK for US publications) but this can be flagged to Meltwater for correction. There are occasional issues tracking niche sectors, some trade publications are not tracked and news behind paywalls can also be difficult to track if keywords are not in the title or opening paragraph. Google news may sometimes be needed to complete a report.
It doesn't provide Domain Authority for the publications, which is something that clients increasingly request to demonstrate how PR is supporting SEO. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The business model is the most adapted to agencies I've come across: no limits on queries and on the number of mentions gives you all the flexibility agency work demands.
Sentiment analysis is mostly accurate or at least explainable, the platform is fast and reliable and customer support is excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Dashboarding capabilities are years behind peers like Netbase and Brandwatch. Data exports also need a lot of further manual cleaning to be useful.
While the features included are comprehensive and cover most ground, some omissions are surprising, like not listing the top journalists mentioning a brand/topic, because that's part of a separate package.
The platform also has quirks that should be easy fixes, like resetting date ranges to the default on every tab switch, not listing the top sources for a search and not allowing drill-downs on all widgets (some load all mentions and some don't) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the amount of features and flexibility the platform has to accomodate our needs Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The AI side of the platform still needs some work as it implemented Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
