What do you like best about EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease)?

It's a one-stop shop for web hosting, with registration, resources and virtual session portals. We're able to bring our brand onto the platform as needed. Our network has gotten accustomed to attending our events on the platform and no longer needs hand holding. The consistency is appreciated. Trouble shooting with the Attendease team is available, quick and helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease)?

Attendease, if not used to its full potential, can just be a portal into a Zoom room. In this instance, it can feel expensive for the service it is providing. In addition, you need someone on your staff or team to get used to the platform; onboarding to the backend is complicated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease) solving and how is that benefiting you?

It is our one-stop shop for conference (gathering) hosting. The problem arose from moving all our events and programming onto the virtual space when everything shut down a few years ago due to covid. Attendease continues to bring benefit to our events, we continue to use it for our online and in person events. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Michael Cawston-Stewart of EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease)

What do you like best about EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease)?

My colleagues and I have used many event platforms over the years. Attendease is one of the most user-friendly for building event sites. Due to complexity, only one or two of the staff knew how to use the past platforms. With Attendease, it's simple enough that any staff person can stand up an event page and add to or edit the event details, registration, schedules, etc. Moving the event between in-person, hybrid, or virtual is also simple as the needs change.

Also, our attendees seem to like it. We've used some platforms where even registering for an event was difficult. It's the opposite with Attendease. Our attendees can quickly register and get access to the content and information they need easily and right away.

For us, we pay one annual fee, and we get to run an unlimited number of events from Attendease. Whether it's a small event of 20 people or a large conference of 1000, we can host them all from one central platform.

Their support team is also very responsive and helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease)?

Attendease isn't as full-featured as other platforms, especially regarding in-person/hybrid events. For example, there's no on-site walk-up or on-demand badge printing at the event. Instead, we must print and organize all the badges before the event. That's a lot of bulk that we have to ship. Further, there's no "one-click" feature to do batch badge printing from Attendease. We have to export the attendee list, mail-merge them into a Word or Publisher template, proof everything, and then print.

If you have complex ticking procedures/rules, that can also be a pain point, though simple ticketing should be no problem. It would also be nice if the system could generate unique, one-time use discount codes. With Attendease, we have to manage many discount codes to ensure they aren't being shared and used outside their intended use.

Many other more mature platforms have these and other standard features built in. It would be nice to see these in Attendease. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease) solving and how is that benefiting you?

We initially partnered with Attendease during the pandemic. It was a cost-effective platform that allowed us to quickly shift gears from our traditional in-person events to completely virtual events. But as we moved on from the pandemic, Attendease allowed us to use the same platform and transition to hybrid events. And now that we've returned to entirely in-person events, the platform is still with us. It's very flexible and adaptable, precisely how organizations today need to be. Technology needs to move with us instead of holding us back. Attendease allows that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Michael Cawston-Stewart of EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease)

Hi Giles!

Thanks for taking the time to put together an honest review of Attendease for G2.

We're very glad to hear you and your team are finding the application easy to use, that your attendees are finding it effective, and that our support team is doing such a great job keeping your work flow flowing!

We hear your desire for more complexity with discounting and/or pass management, and regarding pass printing. We're always happy to talk with our users regarding parts of the application we could strengthen. If your customer success manager hasn't already reached out to you about this, please contact them! They'll want to talk with you

What do you like best about EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease)?

I love that Attendease completely replaces my manual approach to conference programming and saves days' worth of time and countless human errors in the process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease)?

There were some syncing issues I had to find workarounds for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease) solving and how is that benefiting you?

Attendease helps me digitally schedule my entire program with easy drag-and-drop functionality while auditing my schedule placements against custom meta-data logic (like speakers, venue constraints, etc.) to avoid unintended scheduling conflicts. Since using Attendease, I've not experienced any show-stopping mistakes commonly caused by human error that I used to catch when scheduling manually using static, disconnected systems. Using Attendease has brought me peace of mind and returned much precious time to spend in other areas of the event planning process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease)?

Upsides of using Attendease include having an unlimited amount of attendees, a good landing page and registration form for the event you are hosting, and the ability for people to register for multiple sessions at once. Attendease is good for both online events as well as in-person events. Uploading registrants from a CSV file is a very easy process as well.

Setting up a payment option is very easy as well.

Finally, their customer support is very good. They are good at receiving feedback and suggestions for improvements, and the functionality of building out the landing pages for events has increased tremendously. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease)?

The email confirmations are limited. Small improvements have been made to this but could be much better. There needs to be more flexibility and freedom to create stronger, more visually appealing email campaigns (confirmations, reminders, invites). This is the biggest set back. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease) solving and how is that benefiting you?

Attendease provides a place for us to host our online events (webinars), as well as a registration platform for our in person events. Attendease allows us to keep everything organized and in one place, and gives us a space to create landing pages for our events. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease)?

The calendar feature is by far the most valuable feature for our university. Having all of our events listed in one place where people also have the ability to login and rsvp is a game-changer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease)?

I wish Attendease was more intuitive. I am pretty savvy with technology, but I don't find all the areas of setting up events to be logical. For example, I can't delete events if I make a mistake in creating the event or it's canceled. I also wish there was an automatic calendar event that was able to be added to Outlook. I would also like the reporting functionality to be more effecient. If I want to see participant info for a timeframe, I still have to download each event's participants individually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease):

Have someone dedicated to creating events, once you do it enough it isn't as difficult to know where things are located and how to set up events that you need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Hi!

Thanks for giving us straight feedback regarding what Attendease is doing well, and what we can improve on.

We're very happy to hear the work you're doing with our Support and Customer Success teams is so noteworthy! They'll be happy to receive this feedback.

We also understand there are places where Attendease can be stronger and you've outlined a few in your response; general usability, event administration, reporting, and exports. As the review is anonymous I don't know if your customer success manager has been able to reach you about this feedback, if they haven't or if you're interested in having a conversation with us about where you'd like to see Attendease improve, please contact us!

What do you like best about EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease)?

The user-interface is easy to use. Support team is responsive and engaged. The platform is built for events, events management, and ticket sales/presales. The platform excels when you have a template, and has a lot of great event management tools for events of varying sizes and length (a few hours to multi-day). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease)?

A lot of our events and presales we do have the same pricing structure. That information we can't duplicate from event to event. We have to manually add each time. I do know the Attendease team has certain features in development and are rolling out updates consistently to address those challenges we and other organizations have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease) solving and how is that benefiting you?

Events, events management/planning, marketing, and most of all -- ticket sales (including presales). Attendease has helped cut our platform costs by at least 30%, and improved our marketing/team/client efficiency by a factor of 10X. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease)?

In my experience with Attendease, I found the support and help documentation to be robust and easy to understand. The speaker module and session creator are easy to use and create effective session pages. The registration process itself is straightforward for users. The page builder is reasonably well-featured. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease)?

Simple features, like duplicating sessions and email blasts, are not available. Many processes are not intuitive, such as creating a new time slot and attaching a new session or sessions. Email templates are extremely limited. Creating multiple sessions on the same date/time is not intuitive. Generally, the platform is not intuitive at all, but functional once you learn and become accustomed to its quirks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease) solving and how is that benefiting you?

Attendease solves the problem of centralizing the event production process. Registration, messaging, streaming, communication, and archiving can all be accomplished in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease)?

The interface is user-friendly and easy to learn. The invitations and landing pages are clean, well laid out, and look good on large screens and mobile devices. Our customers liked the ease of use as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease)?

One issue we had when I used it for waitlisted events was that you could not choose who to let in from the waitlist - the first person on the list was automatically let in when a space became available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is EventUp Planner (formerly Attendease) solving and how is that benefiting you?

Attendease helps us manage our small-scale customer events (dinners, receptions, sporting events) with ease. They also have solutions that work for more complex, multi-day events - they are not perfect, but we found ways to use them successfully. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
