EV Reach Pros and Cons

The best part about EV is how easy it is to use and some tools can be used for rebooting or diagosing issues without having to actually be "on" the machine. The user doesn't have to be involved at all. EV will allow you to jump onto a machine and restart it, or refresh or even close screens/windows that appear to be frozen. It's really useful! The least thing to like is maybe that the software has to install at the time of attempting to jump on to a remote machine. Waiting for that can be slow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

In use, the installation I am using is reliant on IP address to locate remote machine, meaning that each time a machine disconnects and reconnects to the VPN server, Reach can no longer find it because the IP information is out of date. I have used EV Reach (formerly Goverlan) since 2015; a decade. To me it is a must have for our ability to service clients on our network. There are no real downsides that come to mind with EV Reach, the only small one being sometimes the responsiveness can drop, but this is most likely due to external factors such as network connection. Although, one improvement would be to disable the keyboard for the Remotee's PC when focussed on the window, as pressing the Windows key will open the start menu for both the Remotee and the user.
