Epi CMS has a really intuitive and easy set of libraries to work off of, and is very flexible for creating pages and templates. It is quite easy to work with, and the support services team is very helpful for fixing issues. They also have one of the best update cadences that I've ever seen. They roll out a security patch and enhancement patch for each system every single week. It is easy to update the system, as a developer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike the implementation partners. We've been through two who didn't necessarily know what they were doing. The DXC Service has a few failure points; At the Cloudflare level, as well as at the Azure level. EpiServer does not have any control over both platforms if there is a failure. Not a problem for us, but we have heard other customers say how difficult it is to implement without developers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It takes a while for many people to get used to best practices and even more for everyone to work in the same way. I know this is pretty much up to the implementation team and not the system itself, however, the system is built to be used by people so there is always the human element to be considered.
Aside from that, calendars are hard to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The learning curve can be steep, especially for new users or developers unfamiliar with the platform. Customization sometimes requires more development effort than expected, and licensing costs may be high for smaller businesses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The work I do entails a variety of steps and Optimizely CMS makes it easy for everyone to stay current on work management steps. I do the writing part and I will write it in a GDOC, then copy and paste and it does a much better job than other systems of maintaining formatting so I don't have to the onerous task of reformatting everything. It's also easy to add photos and comments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It still requires a familiarity with web architecture and design fundamentals. It will give a lot of the tools, but users should have an appropriate background to build a functional website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is not possible without customization to personalize content depending on screen width. It is only possible to personalize for mobile/desktop devices, but some browsers/devices do not send this information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
