What do you like best about Dotdigital?

I really like Dotdigital’s user-friendly and intuitive interface. It makes the platform easy to use without appearing overly technical, which I appreciate given its technical nature. I also find it very beneficial for effectively segmenting contact lists to target audiences with appropriate messaging, enhancing our email marketing efforts. What do you like best about Dotdigital?

As the Marketing Manager at Kintec, what I appreciate most about Dotdigital is how intuitive and user-friendly the platform is. Whether we’re building automated campaigns, segmenting customer lists, or analyzing performance, the interface makes every step straightforward and efficient

Dotdigital’s customer support is another standout. Their team is responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping us make the most of the platform (Thanks to Pryscylla! and the online support team too). Whenever we’ve had questions or needed guidance, we’ve received timely, thoughtful solutions.

Integration has also been seamless. We rely heavily on API connections with our POS and BigCommerce platform, and Dotdigital has made it easy to centralize our customer data. This connectivity has significantly improved our ability to deliver personalized, data-driven communications that support both our in-store and online customer experience. What do you dislike about Dotdigital?

I like how easy this product is to use, but at the same time how technical you can get with it.

The support team is great and 95% of the time they can answer support queries really swiftly.

It is sometimes frustrating when a feature doesn't exist and you have no power in getting items onto a dev roadmap.

I really like that Dotdigital strikes the right balance between simplicity and flexibility. The email automation tool is easy to use, which makes setting up campaigns quick and intuitive. At the same time, it offers the depth needed to build complex, highly customized programs when needed. If I had to pick something I don’t like, it would be that I’ve run into some challenges integrating Google Ads tracking with their embedded forms. It’s a bit of a hassle, but honestly a pretty minor issue in the grand scheme of things and their support has always at least tried to be helpful. Overall, Dotdigital has been a solid platform. What I appreciate most about Dotdigital is the platform’s ease of use it’s intuitive and efficient, which makes day-to-day tasks smoother. Beyond the product itself, the support is outstanding. My Customer Success Manager, Madi, is incredibly responsive and helpful, and when needed, the broader support team is always quick to step in. It truly feels like I have a dedicated team behind me. While there’s nothing I truly dislike about Dotdigital the platform has been great overall I do think there’s an opportunity to enhance it further by incorporating AI-driven features. It would be helpful to have tools that offer suggestions for campaign optimization, recommend segments to target, or provide insights based on performance data. What do you like best about Dotdigital?

I think it's quite user-friendly; I love the segmentation and how much you can do with that. Dynamic content has made it so much easier for us to make our campaigns more relevant. There's so many possibilities for automation that is currently, and will further increase our organisation's efficiency. It's great for analytics, they're easy to follow, and find the exact metric we want. The live chat is amazing and used a lot by me and our colleagues, great to have people with a lot more expertise than me respond so quickly, and helpfully. The blogs are also brilliant, if I'm trying to do something new I'll always look to see if there's a blog for it before I do so and there usually is, which gives me step-by-step instructions of how to do something, in a way that's super easy to follow. I'm also constantly discovering new features I didn't know existed, or new ways to do things, I feel like I'm constantly learning on the platform, which is further enhanced by the webinars and events DD organise, which are excellent opportunities for CPD. What do you dislike about Dotdigital?

There's some features which can be bit annoying, for example the line spacing in campaigns can be inconsistent, even if two text boxes are set to the same, they can look completely different which just baffles me. I love DD as a platform but I think it can be a bit overly salesy, with always having the spend money to buy extras, and whenever we're close to our yearly email sends it's always "would you like to buy more?" rather than helping us find a way to reduce our sends. Our org has been a customer of DD for a good few years now so it'd be great if our loyalty was appreciated a little bit more, I guess more familiarity and less transactional. Whilst I love the analytics the campaign reports could be a bit more detailed, for example you can't see a breakdown of the dynamic content used, would be great if we could see CTR for these, and A/B testing, the only comparable data for this is % of clicks/opens, would be super useful if we could see more data for this. I also don't like that you can't edit the default unsubscribe screen, I know you can create a custom one, but it'd be so much easier if we could just edit the default one, or even just change the wording to make it more relevant, and it uses American spelling which seems a bit impersonal. Also, another thing I recently noticed is that you can perform a spam check when you're sending an email and it'll tell you things you've scored points on, like "excessively long line" but it won't tell you where it is! What do you like best about Dotdigital?

Dotdigital is a very easy to use platform. It's straightforward and has a user-friendly interface, but also has plenty of add-ons and features if you need something a bit more robust.

They also have a great team. Any time I or one of my team members has needed customer service or tech support, we've gotten an almost-immediate response and a clear solution. Our account rep, Alyssa, is also great. She always has useful information and a ready review of our account at each meeting, and really knows what she's doing. What do you dislike about Dotdigital?

Some of the "Settings" are a bit clunky, and I don't think it makes sense to have many of the tools they have categorized under settings there. You also cannot view detailed information about the IP addresses used to send your emails or the level of detail on sender reputation that we would sometimes like. Dotdigital is an intuitive, user-friendly platform that enables marketers of any level of ability to create impactful email campaigns, landing pages and enquiry forms. What do you dislike about Dotdigital?

Dotdigital is quite expensive and the creative options available when designing an email template can sometimes be restrictive to an inexperienced user. A template design service is available, but this is also expensive when you are working with a tight budget.
