What do you like best about CompXL?

One of the standout features of CompXL is its user defined functionality that supports highly detailed and complex programs. Whether you're managing financial metrics, conducting data/status analysis, or simulating different scenarios, the software provides a flexible platform that allows for intricate support in a secure environment.

What I appreciate most is its user-friendly interface despite its powerful capabilities. It strikes a nice balance between offering depth and staying accessible. Plus, the support teams make it easy to connect with other HCM systems, which is crucial for streamlining bonus and merit administration.

Finally, I love that it’s scalable. As your needs evolve, CompXL adapts, allowing you to tackle more complex projects with ease without feeling limited by the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CompXL?

The excel based architecture sometimes is viewed as being antiquated. We have a significant amount of custom formulas, which they are great about adapting and inputting, but it is not a "hand over the plan doc and we will get it working" type of system. Those with strong compensation departments and a clear/concise bonus and merit program will see significant abilities in customizing, approving, and releasing customer statements. The newer interface within CompAnalyst is quite a good looking UI that helps blend previous functionality for those comfortable with excel, with allowing new users to have a streamlined interface if inputs are directly within the system. What problems is CompXL solving and how is that benefiting you?

Secure transmission and adaptability for the granular level aspects we have within our ever growing company are the two highest benefits.

One of the biggest problems CompXL solves is handling detailed, multi-metric, location, and parameter programs. Many tools out there are either too simple to handle complex bonus plans or are so specialized that they lack the flexibility for desires of our reward philosophy. CompXL allows for intricate setups with advanced formulas, reporting, and communication—perfect for tasks that demand precision and flexibility.

This makes it far easier for me to manage, modify, and scale complex workflows without worrying about outgrowing the software. It helps me keep everything organized and allows me to save time while solving problems that require multi-faceted solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about CompXL?

We started using CompXL this year. The system is simple and easy to use for what we need it to do. More importantly, we couldn’t be happier with our Account Manager, Jamey Williams. As we are in implementation, we have had nothing but great support from Jamey. His technical skills along with his ability to provide different perspectives and ideas has shown us how valuable and lucky we are to have such a valuable resource. Jamey is responsive and has been able to deliver on our requests during this phase before we go live. His knowledge of the software has made us feel at ease as he takes the time to articulate technical jargon into simple terms. We are grateful to have Jamey as our CompXL partner. What do you dislike about CompXL?

Videos and step by step guides on the resource site refers to the classic (legacy) version, where we have the newer version of CompXL, which has a different interface and look. Would like to see those resources updated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about CompXL?

I have been a user of CompXL for about 4 years, in different companies, and it is a great tool to handle compensation and the salary planning process. It can handle complex compensation plans very easily as it is extremely customizable and flexible.

What do you like best about CompXL?

Enabled a full comp/bonus/equity planning process with additional manager involvement without slicing spreadsheets. Ease of letter access by managers without HR having to run mail merges for hundreds of letters. Loved the "kitchen sink" report for gathering data during and after the planning process. It was easy to make changes while the planning process was in progress. Managers were able to navigate the system easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CompXL?

Reporting and lack of dashboards. Would like more ability to present "pretty" data from the system rather than pulling a report and making my own pivot tables.

What do you like best about CompXL?

The personal touch and ability to customize a solution to our specific needs made for a very successful implementation. The flexibility of the tool and its ability to address not only our Merit Review program, but to manage complex variable pay plans and long-term incentive plans helped us address all our core Total Reward programs with a single tool. CompXL reduced our complexity and provided data protection and seamless workflow, right through to CEO, COO, CFO and CPO approvals while reducing the huge administrative burden it was to manually administer our core compensation programs with Excel and Email.
