CisionOne easily allows me to reach journalists that matter for my clients. I particularly like how I can see the effectiveness of each pitch or release and what topics are resonating with the media. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The main downsides I have found include on the analytics, you can see who clicked through links or opened up an email but you don't see the outlet they are with -- you have to get out of analytics to go to search function in launchpad to identify.
Another downside is when you send a release out it's formatting is weird for recipient as it appears to be one big image.
The only other downside I have come across is when I'm adding personal contacts -- there is no company/outlet field -- this is a big downside. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The "sectors" makes it easy to find journalists in that category. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1) You have to download photos to insert them in your release
2) There is no drop-down menu with DMA listing
3) The number of journalists is very small. For example, if you search "Family & Parenting" in the USA you may only get 32 contacts
4) After sending a pitch or release, you can't group those who didn't open the release or who did. You have to go through one by one and see if they have a check mark next to their name. Impossible for follow-ups. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The dashboards are much easier to configure, and I can find the stories I am looking for so much easier. The reports and dashboard are easily shareable and I can easily show my ROI at a moment's notice. I am so grateful for the upgrades in the system on CisionOne. Honestly, that was the one complaint I had you fix! You incorporated AI into the platform. And if you could just make sure that AI helps me write the best boolean code, then it would be a 10! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The flexibility of reporting and selecting which media outlets to monitor for specific clients and projects gives really great control over what is shared and the way reporting can be discussed with clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
With great insight comes complex reporting set up. But with time and practice, this becomes easier and is in fact what generates the insight through reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy to navigate, good user experience. Many widget features Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The fact that all the mention streams are disconnected and do not feed into each other. For example if you delete coverage from one mention stream it doesn't auto-delete from others. This was a really nice feature in the old platform that our org has been struggling with cision one.
The migration was a challenge and took a lot of oversight from my team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the streams. They're easy to follow and I like that they can be grouped together. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's become less effective for pitching. There's no easy way to follow up with media without having to manually download, sort through, and reupload the media lists to follow up on pitches. It's less user friendly for public relations professions. Additionally, you cannot make changes or additions to streams that are shared with you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some great new features, but the benefits are lost because the user experience and visual organization is so chaotic and hard to navigate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the reasons I selected Cision was the ease of the platform and the simple user experience. It was streamlined, organized, and super easy to use. CisionOne is chaotic and visually overwhelming. Even the alert emails are far more difficult to read. If it isn't broken, don't fix it and the old Cision was not broken. I have recommended Cision for years to peers but this new user experience is not anything worth recommending. I will be evaluating a new option at the end of my contract. I use Cision daily and find myself dreading using CisionOne now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love that it has a clean, easy-to-read interface that is easy to use to create simple search queries based on a topic, media outlet or name of a journalist. I also really love the ability to create and save lists within the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is a bit of a learning curve to figure out how to work this version compared to previous iterations. It can also be challenging to narrow down searches for some topics. There are some filtering options available, but they aren't as intuitive or as helpful as they could be. The in-app email distributions are also interesting. I like the concept, but the execution needs some tweaking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's comprehensive media database and how easy it is to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes the lists are too expansive. It takes a while to whittle them down to what I really need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ease of use compared to competing platforms. The layout is intuitive and everything loads quickly. It takes fewer steps to get to the same result. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It would be nice to have more robust social media reporting, but you can get that if your contract includes Brandwatch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
