There's a lot of benefits for it to sync the platforms I use (Google Mail, Salesforce) - it should make things easy to capture Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The downside though is I don't like the most recent update. It's slow to refresh/sync, and not as user -friendly as previous versions. It might look modern with the refreshed look, but I personally liked the previous one more - it was more intuitive on how to use it. The sync also takes forever, and it's hard to capture things in Google Mail when you want to do it more immediately Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Cirrus Insights email templates are amazing. They pull data straight from my Salesforce org and it makes my life so much easier. At our smal start up, volume isn't through the roof (yet) so a lot of the order confrimation/tracking information updates are done manaully. Cissrus Insight makes this a breeze for us. Wish Cirrus insight had more predicative information on how email engagement, not sure if that's a feature available but would love that. Another one is how likely are they to open the email when and if general emails are opened by certain email addresses Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've used Cirrus insight for several years, it has enabled me to efficiently use my inbox and CRM at the same time. It has numerous features that are both helpful, but also saves me time. I can write emails log them efficiently, I can read emails and know they will sync to my CRM. Best of all it can make use of custom objects, and is able to be configured for how I work and the fields that are important to me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only downside that I've found, and its only having switched to the new version of CI w/ Zynbit vs. the old CI, is the email tracking notifications are not nearly as robust. that said, they are still there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We use Cirrus to track email and calendar activity from Outlook. The best part about Cirrus is this allows us to use the data in reporting and some other features we have set up in Salesforce since the builtin feature for this in Salesforce doesn't put a hard record in but a "cloud" record you can see in Salesforce but can not pull reporting on. I've seen no downside to the use of it. The only thing we had issues with in the beginning was getting the Cirrus account hooked up to the email account. Now that we have done it multiple times it has become easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Cirrus creates a cohesive and seamless bridge between Salesforce and Microsoft Outlook. Easy to log emails and create leads from one screen as opposed to having to switch between. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At times, when trying to create a lead through the add-in tool on outlook, if missing a field, it is unclear where the error is, as it is not highlighted. So you have to determine what you are missing yourself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
