Our agency is about 13 years old, so we have gone through many changes over the years regarding technology. When we started our agency in 2009, we were a 4-person crew with no EMR system to start out. Everything was done on paper, from orders to plans of care, and we even used a dial-up fax machine and all our field communication was done via phone calls or texts. It was messy! As a new agency starting out, our patient census was low, so it was manageable, but over the years, we have grown and now employ 35-40 team members with 100+ patients to provide care to every day. We are considered a small to mid-sized agency, but there are days that we feel like a giant company! We have gone through 3 different EMR systems and finally landed on one that works for us, and we have added many other technology platforms to support our growth and pursuit of continued efficiency. We utilize a lead/marketing platform that helps streamline the front end of the business and then our favorite technology platform that we use for care coordination, our beloved BUZZ! Pre-BUZZ, our agency was using everything from group text threads, and WhatsApp, to GroupMe and still struggled with good, true collaborative care coordination; plus, none of these other platforms are HIPPA compliant, but we HAD to talk to each other! An industry colleague of mine mentioned BUZZ to me a little over 2 years ago, and I was connected with the BUZZ team, and they really listened to me and understood our needs and offered solutions! BUZZ offered us a trial to get to know the product to see if it was a good fit for our team. They were patient with us while we were implementing the new platform to our field team by providing training and support and always answered the call when we needed help! A great tool is only as good as your adoption rate, so that was the hill I had to climb. So many times, a technology solution looks good to the executive team, but the end-user has to adopt it for it to actually be successful. As we rolled out the BUZZ App and built it out per our process, the team started to see the power! The way our agency uses BUZZ is that we build out “patient channels”. Each patient channel (group) is titled with the patient’s name and DOB. From there, our Intake department adds the DON, ADON, scheduler, COO, Client Care Coordinator, and the SOC nurse that has been assigned to the patient to admit. After admission, the SOC nurse communicates on BUZZ that the admission has been completed, the frequency and suggested therapy Evaluations needed. The scheduler sees that communication and works to assign the therapies and adds those care team members to the channel. If there are any other disciples that need to be added, the process repeats. In the end, a custom care coordination team has been built and ALL communication is shared with the appropriate team members so everyone has visibility of the play-by-play for that patient. This also provides a safety net with upper-level eyes on ALL channels and can step in and support or triage if necessary. This also makes case management so much better because it creates true leadership opportunities in a field-driven industry just by collective and collaborative care coordination. I ask myself quite frequently how we ever survived without our beloved BUZZ! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing we "dislike" about BUZZ; it has only added efficiency, compliance and ease to our care coordination efforts. The only thing I would love to see, and I believe it is in the works, is that the communications from BUZZ flow into our EMR to complete the patient chart in one place. What I like best is the collaboration feature, instant communication as well as integrated phone/video/fax/email. Now Buzz has feature where I can check the messages sent to me in a group. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I haven't come across anything such as of now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Buzz's smart shortcut function is what I enjoy the most. Buzz offers every significant function I'll ever need in one location. There is another choice, which I tend to use. Predefine Sending messages in a way that takes into account the circumstances I'm in and eliminates the need for me to compose any messages is helpful since I can reach the appropriate individual. I am able to quickly tag any individual or group for direct communication. I am using this for the last 2 years and over that period, the developer team has added new shortcuts which make my life easier. You don't have to remember the key sequence for any action. Buzz has a tonne of features that I haven't yet discovered. There is nothing to dislike about buzz, insofar as that is possible. I frequently receive updates. That's why I'm impressed and I'll jump to use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the security and the filter by category. In this feature, you can organize your conversations based on category. Also, you can assign the category and create a new category from the user/group Profile.
I'm finding the automatic sharing of past messages with new conversation participants to be very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I've been using Buzz Secure Medical Messenger for a while now, and it’s honestly one of the best communication tools for healthcare professionals. If you're looking for a HIPAA-secure way to collaborate with your team, consult with other providers, and even communicate with patients—all in one place—Buzz has you covered.
Privacy is a big concern in healthcare, and Buzz keeps everything secure. Every message, call, and document is protected, so patient information stays private. I also love that I can call patients without sharing my personal number! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It just works! We use it throughout the day both on our desktops and our mobile devices and it always works well. It gives us great peace of mind to know that we are communicating in a secure and compliant fashion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Our organization has not experienced any major downsides. If anything, there are features BUZZ has that we need to explore using more in our operation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As a nurse in a fast-paced hospital setting, using the Buzz medical messenger app has been a real game-changer. Communication with coworkers is significantly faster and more efficient—no more tracking people down in person or waiting on responses through traditional methods. With Buzz, I can instantly reach out to my team and collaborate on patient care in real-time, which has helped streamline our workflow and improve patient outcomes. I can't think of anything that I dislike about buzz. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I was introduced to Buzz since its early days. As a doctor, I’ve seen firsthand how fellows and residents sending texts can create potential HIPAA risks. That’s why I appreciate Buzz so much—it provides a secure way to communicate without worrying about compliance issues. One of the biggest benefits has been discovering the ability to invite other providers, making collaboration seamless. Sending Buzz video requests to patients and including family members when working remotely has also been incredibly helpful. For physicians they also allow us to get the Buzz phone with a unique number to enable us to give to patients while being on call to avoid having give my cell phone number. Finally, when our providers need help, the Buzz Concierge is always quick to respond, making the service truly stand out. Overall - Buzz has been efficient and secure. Nothing to dislike, the multitude of features could be daunting but they have come up with a simple interface for the newcomers. I have transitioned to the advanced mode by now to use the AI Lightning features as well as integration with EPIC. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I can put medical history in chat without blanking name or other personal information. Also I like the feature of caller id calling and marking message as urgent that plays a sound for recipient so that they can take action promptly Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
