What do you like best about BigCommerce?

There are quite a few unique themes to choose from. The designers and community have really made some great looking sites to represent my brand. Customer support is absolutely amazing. They are dedicated and knowledgeable about the best options for me, not the most expensive. And speaking of cost, BigCommerce is insanely scalable. The platform can handle a huge number of orders. What do you dislike about BigCommerce?

There are limited CSS alterations. I have tried to make some style changes that are definitely hidden due to the proprietary nature of the theme I bought. Since I already pay for the site, paying for the app seems kind of unnecessary and I haven't downloaded it because it's not free. I use Zoho for the rest of my business including their CRM and email. (I'd prefer BigCommerce to be my one-stop shop, but a guy can dream) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering BigCommerce:

Think about ALL the things you want to do: Sell on Amazon, sell on eBay, sell on etsy, sell on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, newsletters, make ads, show reviews on the site, have a live social media feed... the list really is endless. If you can find all of those elsewhere (spoiler: you can't) then go for it. You'll come back to BigCommerce. To be honest, their customer service is incredible! What problems is BigCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?

Creating a hub for education of product using partner add-ons has been incredibly easy with the vast number of 3rd party partners. The options are nearly endless and the integrations keep growing. Just got notified today about selling on Instagram soon. Very proactive. We've been able to generate leads through our efforts with Big Commerce, as well as selling on social channels. Big Commerce has helped many businesses by being scalable enough to small businesses as well as big ones.The customization based on business problems is the coolest feature i have ever seen in a commerce platform ever before.The multi language facility has helped a lot businesses globally increasing their reach.The usage is also easy to adapt and not very difficult.the implementation happens to be the fastest thing associated with the platform.They provide a amazing customer support and thats is the most accesible feature making their platform a global leader.Most of the users come back to the product increasing its frequency of use .Its can be easily integrated with any kind of platforms required. With built-in integrations for payment gateways, marketplaces, and CRM tools like Salesforce, I can efficiently manage my business without heavy development costs.The ability to scale effortlessly, automate processes, and manage multiple sales channels from one platform allows me to focus on growth rather than technical complexities, ultimately improving efficiency, revenue, and customer experience. What do you like best about BigCommerce?

I began my career working at a company who used BigCommerce and because the design was already in place, I found doing easy things like switching web banners and updating product photos and descriptions to be quite easy.

While I have not used BigCommerce's customer service myself, I have heard from other designers that they are much better than Shopify, which unless you are a top tier account, can be a bit frustrating to talk to someone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BigCommerce?

Having re-designed websites on both BigCommerce and Shopify, I found BigCommerce to be a bit less intuitive. As a graphic designer, I do not know much HTML/CSS so I rely heavily on using a template as a framework and doing light tweaks from there. It felt much more intuitive to use Shopify's overall interface and I preferred it over BigCommerce as someone who is more visual and not technical.

The templates Shopify offers also felt like they much more aligned with what I needed and what my company wanted. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about BigCommerce?

Ease of managing Products and Orders. It provides multiple ways to Import & Export your product in the BM. It is faster than SFCC. Minimalist and user-friendly UI makes it effortless to understand the functionality of the BM easily. Our client has moved from SFCC to Bigcommerce. Implementation was easy. It was our first project on Bigcommerce but with the help of Bigcommerce support. the transition was smooth and actually, we liked it over the SFCC. Bigcommerce feature to provide a storefront or you can customize it in your own way helps in integrating the site with the third party. Speaking of third party, Bigcommerce Marketplace provides multiple third-party apps that can be directly integrated into your project through Bigcomerce BM, that's the best feature of Bigcommerce. We have been using bigcommerce on a daily basis since 2023 our storefront went live. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BigCommerce?

Any fixes requested take time from their side to be released. One issue that we found on our site was, that when the Product and Order level discounts are enabled both the order level discounts are applied on the MRP of the product but the rule says the Order level discount is applied only on the discounted product price after applying the product level discount. To give a fix for this Bigcommerce took more than 3 months to apply a fix from there side. Which is the only thing that i encountered. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BigCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?

1. Minimalist and Easy to understand UI - Helps in knowledge transfer in less time from one to another member of the team. which is a bit frustrating in SFCC where the whole time is given to explain the BM.

2. Fast BM - Helps in the changes made in less time. Changes Due to smooth functionality changes done in BM reflect fast on the storefront.

What do you like best about BigCommerce?

Ease of use, ever expanding app marketplace. If there's something you want to do that Bigcommerce doesn't do out of the box, there is probably an app that does it. Customer support is absolutely top notch. Always friendly and very knowledgeable. Implementation was handled by our developer but it has been a breese to use ever since. What do you dislike about BigCommerce?

Not as customizable as we'd like on certain features. It's good that you can get an app to do what you want, but then you have to pay for that app to do what should be done natively. Also the gift card system leaves a lot to be desired. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BigCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?

Bigcommerce allowed us to sell to different channels of consumors , such as B2C and also B2B. They have a modern architecture in the backend which makes it easily trainable for users. The ability to use plugins to allow roll backs and such gives you piece of mind that if you mess up you can roll something back. There online live chat support has been very helpful and in most cases if I have to submit a ticket, it is answered that same day with a real answer not some copy and paste. What do you like best about BigCommerce?

Ease of use aside, Big Commerce has been an invaluable part of our growth. Its integration capabilities have been deployed seamlessly across a myriad of apps including Klaviyo, Search Spring and a multitude of other automation tools employed across the site which has been crucial in our being a low cost model. The platforms open API enables easy customisation allowing us a much clearer insight into customer behaviour and internal business performance. several features of BigCommerce have directly contributed to our business growth. The platform’s scalability, with its ability to handle high-volume transactions without sacrificing speed or performance, has been a game-changer as our business has expanded. Its inbuilt SEO tools and mobile optimization features have significantly improved our online visibility and search rankings. Plus, with BigCommerce’s advanced product management features and automation capabilities, we’ve been able to manage inventory and orders efficiently, helping us scale without increasing our team size an increasing costs. What do you like best about BigCommerce?

Running a business and an online store is much less stressful using Bigcommerce, I have used Volusion and Shopify, and the most valued service that Bigcommerce offers that is next to none in comparison is the ability to reach out to their qualified tech support team for assistance whenever I am snagged by an issue I found or created. Having live tech support just a phone call away is very comforting on a busy day when you don't always have time to search for the correct documentation to help you solve a problem. Our customers also benefit from this service as it reduces the chance of downtime and errors during their shopping experience with us.

I enjoy the shared variants that allow us to reduce product listing data and ease of updating any changes to the function of how the variants are displayed and the ability to create custom rules for a specific variant such as price difference when selected. What do you dislike about BigCommerce?

Some of the backend functions like not being able to tag customers with a visual color-coded rating system to easily identify customers by their known customer service history - Good Egg Bad Egg.
