I love how organized Asana is, and how well it allows us to keep track of each step of the process for all of our projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Honestly, there are very few downsides for me. Sometimes I wish there were ways to shift entire groups of tasks or subtasks into another task, but that functionality may exist and I just am not aware? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Asana is fantastic for being quick to learn, easy to implement, and endlessly adaptable to suit varied team and/ or project needs Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's not much to dislike about Asana! Mainly just learning to click out of an active "cell" more carefully to deactivate it, so as not to accidentally take action by clicking on something else on the screen Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that every member of our company can communicate about what we have going on, despite all of us working remotely. Each team member logs on everyday to check what we need to be doing and how it is going across the company. It is a great place to centralize our projects, ask questions, and make comments on the work we are doing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We are a very small non-profit company. I wish that we could afford some of the bells and whistles in the larger packages, but I am happy with what we do have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love so much about Asana. I love the various formats for each project. I love the collaboration it inspires. I love the ability to create templates, recurring tasks, and automated rules. I love the colors, the integrations with other software, and nearly everything! I use this every single day to accomplish so much. It's easy to put into practice and incorporate into our workflows as a team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't see a lot of downsides to Asana. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the different features that interact with each other. I've used other programs such as Airtable and Notion but am drawn to Asana specifically for project work in collaborative settings due to its ease of implementation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Features that I use less are often due to a learning gap. I wish there were more learning capabilities such as live Zoom sessions to learn about each product update or free trainings from other users in my field. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I tested out a handful of competitors but non were as simple and as intuitive as Asana - I love how the subtasks neatly nest inside tasks which makes it easy to organize and find things again down the road. I was able to quickly onboard even the least tech-savvy team members with ease, which is a testament to the well-thought-out interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
They are NOT clear in what constitutes a free contributor. It is only after you are neck deep in projects and your trial runs out that the harrassment begins to "upgrade seats" - EVERY SINGLE PERSON in your organization that is ever tagged in a task will require a paid seat. There are no free contributors except for people outside your organization that might need to see something. Customer service was terrible and probably a bot most of the time and it took 2 weeks of emailing back and forth (phone calls were requested but never granted) to even come to finally understand that there is no way to upgrade SOME of your organization and leave the rest free. Zero flexibility. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Asana is easy to use, powerful, and flexible. The one to many relationship you can have between tasks and projects is an actual game changer in how you track work, and keep it visible between people and teams. The workflow editor is another very powerful feature, and I would argue the best of all of the work management tools. The Asana AI features are also crazy powerful when used correctly. They also have a ton of out of the box integrations that make it easy to connect other tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dont have any specific dislikes about Asana as a product. The bigger hurdle to jump with a tool like this is internal adoption and consistent use of a product. Asana's professional services team is great, and very helpful at user adoption training. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1) Enable the possibilty to have a task which can assigned to differnet projects so that different groups of people can also see the same tasks in their own project.
2) Sub-tasks function with owner and due date
3) Clear Inbox to view all the updates/message. You can dimiss those message that you handled and read. You won't miss any information even you are busy in managing other works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Cannot do the conditional formatting for the tasks under my own rule. e.g. if the task was late, then I may want to highlight the due date in big red background. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've been using Asana now for several years, and its my go-to for just about everything. In the professional world, Asana is an essential tool for us to manage our team workflow. As a marketing department in a very bustling industry, we're constantly battling between short-form urgent deadlines, longer-form deadlines with intentional planning, and administrative back-end to-do's that just pile up. I appreciate Asana's ability to track and measure my team's time and display workload in calendar view. Utilizing both automatic work flows and tasks, as well as the plug-ins (teams, word etc). it makes staying on top of task tracking much more digestible, rather than creating another thing to do. The team appreciates (and my leadership) a single source of truth for workload and quantifying achievements. Onboarding my team within the platform was quick, and it only took a couple of weeks before they were super users. We use Asana every single day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some plug-ins are less functional than others. Not being able to integrate Power BI without an enterprise plan is also dissapointing.
I do wish exporting the information out of Asana came with a greater range of options. However, overall these are minor tweaks that I anticipate will evolve over the platforms time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy-to-use interface: Asana's interface is easy to use and intuitive, which makes navigating the platform and performing specific tasks easier. Wide variety of functionalities: you can create and assign tasks, monitor task progress, collaborate in teams, and communicate with team members, among other things. This makes it an extremely versatile and useful tool for a variety of project types. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I find most difficult is being able to paste text into tasks, as it erases all the formatting and the text looks bad, which complicates things for me when I have tasks to copy and paste.
Personally, the way to delete tasks seems a bit tedious to me, since there are two buttons and it's not very intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
