I love that I can have my procedures located in one central place that I can assign team members to. As their roles change, I remove or add them easily. As the job changes, I can easily make edits to the work process and this notifies the team members as well. These saves me from having to create new training as it already exists. I particularly enjoy being able to add detail to a task, but it is located in a sub folder so it doesn't clutter up the screen until it is clicked on. I like that I can upload pictures as well. The downside is that once I turn it on I don't have to check it until there are changes. This means I forget how I created something in the first place. I did have some difficulty trying to "copy" a project and then edit it. Something got out of whack, but I'm sure some of it was user error. I just had to start from scratch. I contacted customer service, but it felt like they were not useful, and after a few exchanges, I never heard from them again. I know there was a way to do it because I had done it before, but I didn't want to take the time to search for a video or other tutorial. There wasn't a lot of content to watch when I first started. That may have changed now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love how Asana clearly organizes all of the tasks and projects that I am currently working on for my clients and for my personal use. I use it every day, and since it integrates directly with email, tasks can be generated directly from the inbox. Asana is so easy to use, and I have found that if tasks do not make it into Asana, they do not get done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If it does not already exist, I would like to be able to generate tasks by sending or forwarding a text message similar to how emailing the x email address generates a task. I would also like to see the ability to add an automatic rolling due date to tasks so that tasks left incomplete by the end of the work day automatically roll into the next day if you set the due dats as such. The basic features are simple and that's key to getting staff to buy-in to a tool like this. It's easy to understand and creates clarity across team members on what they should be working on. Support is great as there are a number of trainings, live workshops and more you can participate in. We use it daily for all of our non-profit work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
They add new functionality frequently (which is good) but the overall simplicity gets more convoluted once you start taking advantage of more features. I liked Asana when it was pretty barebones because of its simplicity and depending on the technical aptitude of your users, some may struggle. We've also become a little overzealous at times with adding too much into Asana and making it difficult to use but that is our own undoing and no fault of the tool. Asana is the most efficient way to delegate and organize work tasks for small businesses. It allows for different types of projects and departments to work and monitor the work that is being done. Asana was also easy to use once we began its use years ago. I like the consistency that using Asana provides regarding discussing projects and goals for management meetings and there has been a considerable improvement in many areas of our company's efficiency due to Asana. The downsides of using Asana is the difficulty of relocating and finding certain tasks once they are deleted. It would also be great to have a large range of color palettes to choose from regarding the type of projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Asana is a lifesaver for me! I have so many things going on: my own business (membership site, blog, social
media, YouTube channel). I also help to run a kids football club and am in the midst of home renovations and planning major trips abroad. Asana helps me organise every element of my life so no task (however small) is ever forgotten. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I often tell Siri to add a task to asana while in the car. As I can’t assign a date I tend to check recent tasks and forget about it! Can Siri learn to add a date for the task too?
I use the My Tasks > List view every day, but it’s frustrating that the tasks within sections aren’t in chronological order by time of day they need completing. it would be great to sort these. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Extremely easy to integrate into what software we are already using. It makes a seamless tool to bring all of our software together. It creates efficiencies and allows me to see all of my teams tasks in one place. Our efficiency is through the roof and it helps relieve my teams stress and anxiety around complex projects. We use it every day and it couldn't be much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some of the functions could use a more obvious menu scheme. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Asana is amazing at keeping me organized with all of my clients. I love that I can set up recurring tasks, at the intervals that I need, to make sure nothing falls through the cracks. As my business grew, I knew I couldn't keep it all straight in my head. There was a slight learning curve, as with all softwares you aren't familiar with, but once you learn it, it is so user friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There really are no downsides to Asana. The only thing I would recommend to others is to get it and learn it BEFORE you need it. This gives you time to learn it and work with it before you are overwhelmed with other things. Once you get the hang of it, you will LOVE it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Asana has made it a lot easier to empower our team and eliminate the need for as much time spent on project management and planning throughout the organisation.
The team features are really great for empowering each of our departments to run their own internal projects how they want which helped for buy in as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My main concerns are a lot of the best templating features are locked into the enterprise version, which does restrict the flexibility somewhat for our purposes. You’re also forced to pay for seats in sets of 5, and of course my team in 1 seat too many, so we pay for 4 seats we don’t use which sucks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Developing process process and workflow and communicating with others so that everyone of the team has a visibility and transparency into what's going on. You don't need to hack into somebody's email or their slack account to learn about information while they might be off sick or something like that you could just easily assign it to somebody else and move on. I wish that Asana had a better ability to track financials. It's certainly not meant to do that, but it does it to a certain point. It would be great if it could do it more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Its easy to use, and has a super friendly interface. Most importantly, you have really decent features even on the free version which means you can use it at work, and also switch to using it personally. The support from customer service has also been great and easy to find. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The rules and automations can feel super complex. I had to do workflow training and watch lots of videos to even understand the basic level of automations. I wish that was a lot simpler, as it would a persons confidence in using the tool a lot quicker. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's a great place to keep everything centralized as one source of truth for many people within my organization. Visually, I can quickly see what items are outstanding and when it's due. I'm new to Asana but would like to use this every day for my personal work to-do lists instead of a messy notebook. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't have anything negative to say yet, and I don't feel comfortable listing things I dislike at the moment because chances are it's user error! I have a lot to learn, but this seems like it will be very beneficial. I've only recently been onobarded to the platform, but implementation went well. I'm working on integrating DropBox, but it is pending our system admin approval. Hopefully that will streamline the process and cut down on the number of applications I reference on a daily basis.
