We have used Aplos for 3 years now. The integration was extremely smooth. The program was very easy to learn. When I have questions, the call center is able to answer them. The ability to report by department is awesome and has really helped our department heads to manage their budgets more efficiently. Our annual audit has been much easier since we can pull the information needed very easily from Aplos. I also love that the cost of Aplos is very reasaonable compared to other products we looked into before choosing Aplos. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would like to be able to report on two levels of tags. For example, by department AND project. I would like to have an option in the drop-down list for report date range to be YTD through last month because each month when I do custom reports I have to plug in the dates each time and it is time consuming. The most helpful feature of Aplos is all the training videos they offer. The customer service is great, too! You almost never need to call Customer Service because the company is very pro-active in putting out articles and videos of features that you may have questions about. When you do ask a question to Aplos, you receive timely answers to your concerns. They have reports that can easily be customized to how you want to report your accounting information. They have helpful checklists for many tasks. Examples of checklists: Monthly, year-end, payroll, etc. When we began to use Aplos the software is extremely easy to use and didn't take a software expert to begin setting up the Chart of Accounts or making register entries. When we had an audit, it was very easy get reports for the Auditor and for him/her to use the software as a read-only user. I gave him/her an auditor log-in and the auditor was able to see what they needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Trying to decide what reports to use! There are so many various reports and you can customize them so easily, I found it challenging to get our Council Members to give me feedback on the reports they wanted to see. I think it would be helpful to have some reports designated as standard reports so that you could say to the Council these are recommended standard reports for churches. Then as the Council Members get used to reading them and need or request more information, you can then introduce a customized report to them. Being a financial minded person, I loved the variety of reports and customizations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It was super helpful that they imported all of the finances and gave them beginning balances, and took great care to make sure that everything was done with 100% accuracy when we began the implementation process. They also were helpful along the way teaching and training me on all of the different options re: bank integration, journal entries, bank reconcilliation, reports, additional functions, etc. I can access it from anyware and use it almost daily. They have moved to a chat / email system rather than hopping on a call / hopping on a zoom meeting where one could screen share and problem solve colabratitvly. I find that when leadership wants an answer it's often time sensitive and to get an email response back that says they will get back within 24 hours is soul crushing. Aplos is specifically designed for non-profit accounting, so I don't have to twist anyting into a preztel to get it to work the way I need it to. Even for a layperson the layout and features make sense. Running reports is easy, and shows me where I stand quickly. The friendly staff of Aplos are always there to asnwer any questions I have. I have used Aplos since 2014. I am a nonprofit Executive DIrector. Aplos makes wearing many hats easier. I highly recommend it to any church or nonoprofit that is looking for many features that are fully integrated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes a popup box is in the way of buttons I want to press and I have to wait for it to disappear. In downloaded reports, the cells are sometimes merged so it is hard to put funcitons in place for certain columns. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Aplos mainstreams bill pay and keeping up with donations. Support is so helpful even if there is no way to get feedback from development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The development team is behind a curtain and I mostly hear, we can send it to development and then its up to them to decide. It doesn't help when it comes to a situation like fixed assets where we are having to hand enter everything. All there "add-ons" do not communicate smoothly with the accounting software. It makes for more manual entries which have to be then be explained everytime. I wish Aplos overall worked together. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We switched from Quickbooks to Aplos nearly three years ago, and we've never regretted the switch for one second. Aplos is genuinely a financial software package for Nonprofits. It fits our needs well. Using software designed specifically for a nonprofit makes a world of difference. SERO did decide to pay the extra and had Aplos move our information from QBs to Aplos. This made the implementation and integration a breeze. I use Aplos to download transactions from all accounts every day. I've asked for help on several issues, and the customer support is terrific.
Aplos has many valuable tools to make annual audits for certified financials much less time-consuming. Customizing accounts payable and receivable to track and store receipts is helpful.
Aplos makes a Finance Director approach their job using appropriate accounting rules and processes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike nothing about Aplos. It suits our needs well Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ease of running reports and seeing all my data clearly Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The downsides of Aplos is that not everyone knows about it. I love it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Aplos is a true Fund Accounting software where we are able to track our ministries. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Aplos is more of a donor based program as opposed to a database program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The support staff have been incredibly helpful when I run into any issues or can't figure out how to do something in the platform.
For the most part the platform is easy to use and offers so much more reporting opportunities for my grants and restricted funds. And the integration features for banking and payroll are amazing! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The platform is definitely worth the value but as a non-profit this is a really big expense for us. And if you are not familiar with fund accounting- it can get confusing. Thankfully the support staff is knowledgable and helpful Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Whenever I have reached out to ask a question, the Aplos response is very quick and helps me find the answer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So far, I have found myself struggling a few times with printing out our personalized "thank you" letters to each individual donor making it more of a group printing process but I'm sure there's a way to do it; I just need to keep looking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
