Anrok is super simple to use, enables any easy connection to your ERP, and setting up tax rules was simple. Overall it allowed us to get up and running quickly with the tool, the support team was great, and overall is a very easy tool to use and integrate with your existing processes and systems. The data refresh functionality. We would change things like bill to or ship to, and it took a while to get used to how to push through the updated data and the resulting taxability in the new or updated state. This was more a setup thing and not a recurring matter. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The support and tax team are always ready to help answer questions. It doesn't take long to receive a response and the teams are always detailed in their response. This is much appreciated, especially when dealing with the individual state's taxation department. Quick turnaround times are crucial to avoid any negative actions taken by the states.
We use Quickbooks Online and the integration was pretty straightforward and simple. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The platform is fairly simple to use, just need to get accustomed to navigating during setup, but that does not take long at all. Their step by step implementation is extremely helpful and afterwards you're able to capture most of Anrok's features offered. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Anrok was relatively easy to set up. I especially appreciated the hand holding through applying for multiple new state sales tax licenses. The customer service was, for this day and age, shockingly responsive and easy to get a hold of actual people. Even the more automated support emails that would generate automatically were extremely on point and helpful- in most cases more helpful than talking to a human because it broke down what to do in easy to follow, step by step instructions that actually applied specifically to each jurisdiction. Sales tax compliance is pretty challenging in general, but Anrok does about as good of a job as one could hope for, making it simple to get set up and use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish the pricing was lower, but in their defense the pricing is in line with others. I also wish the support people were allowed to give advice about how to associate income accounts to Anrok product ID's (for determining sales tax liability). They were timid as they were not allowed to give "tax advice" but I think overly so. At some point decisions just need to be made so it would be helpful to get a little more specific help rather than be directed to generic written descriptions. Once I understood their documentation, the process of getting set up with our software was pretty easy; and the integration between our application, our payment processor, and Anrok was simple enough. Their support staff was crucial for me to understand all of the moving pieces in our context, and they answered all of my questions clearly and provided links to the documentation as needed. We use Stripe for our payment processor, with a very customized application running the whole thing, so we had quite a few unique questions and situations to address. Not all of the questions were able to be answered immediately, but the turnaround time after escalation was very reasonable (a few business days max). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At least for our situation (which is definitely a non-standard setup), it took a few times of reading their documentation before I was able to understand everything I felt was necessary. I also felt like the organization of the documentation wasn't the most intuitive. Getting more into the weeds a bit... They have two kinds of integrations for Stripe-based setups. For me, it was not readily apparent the boundaries between them, nor which one was preferred (the docs said one was preferred, but I just couldn't easly tell which one that was). Anrok is handling a very "unsexy" but important problem for us. As a startup, each employee wears many hats and we cannot hire someone who specializes in sales and use tax. Anrok is the perfect companion for us.Even better that it integrates with Stripe! Set up is a one-time thing and they take care of the rest. Anrok was super helpful with any questions we had during setup, gave explicit instructions on how to navigate various state government websites, and answer any questions we have regarding sales and use tax. Now that everything is initiated, I do not have to think about it. I know Anrok will do all the "in the weeds" work on our behalf. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
With the new support system, I am not always sure if I should email support or submit a ticket online. Is this dependant on my question? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Anrok is really easy to use to upload tax exemption certificates syncing with Stripe and filing sales tax returns. Even when an issue occurs, Cameron from the support team does an amazing job responding to our concerns with effective solutions. I use Anrok monthly to review and submit sales tax returns and occasionally to upload tax exemption certificates and find it easy and super efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
For tax exemption certificates, a notification of duplicate uploads would be helpful or the ability to delete duplicated customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I work with multiple startups and use Anrok as the sales tax service. Once you are registered in a state and updates have been made in Anrok, it's fairly straightforward to invoice your customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- Cumbersome initial setup: If you have previous transactions, it requires lots of back and forth with Anrok to confirm correct transactions are pulled in and not duplicated.
- Security?: In many cases, Anrok requires you to provide state sales tax login and security credentials to their platform. These are viewable in plain text when you login to Anrok, suggesting lackluster security.
- Hit or miss support: Support is predominantly email only so if there's a complex issue it will often result in a lot of back and forth. It can be frustrating to engage support if you are a small company and do not have any internal experience with sales tax.
- Limited realtime syncing to invoices: Depending on your invoicing system, there may be delays in Anrok's ability to add the sales tax amount. This means that invoices cannot be sent immediately or automatically. Instead, you'll need to wait for Anrok to update the sales tax amount and then manually send. I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for the excellent support provided by your team. At Parspec, we were facing challenges with managing taxes for our SaaS platform. However, integrating Anrok with Stripe has been a game-changer for us.
Your prompt and helpful responses over email truly stood out. The fact that you shared a complete code snippet to facilitate the integration saved me and my team a lot of time and effort. The process was seamless, and your guidance made it all the more straightforward.
We’re now able to calculate and collect taxes on our premium offerings with ease, and it’s made a noticeable difference in our operations. I’m particularly impressed with how attentive and proactive your team has been throughout this process.
Thank you once again for your outstanding support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't have any particular dislikes, but I’m excited about the possibilities and would love to see support for Stripe's default template checkout in the future. I’m confident that with your expertise, this would make Anrok even more valuable for teams like ours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Anrok's platform is very easy to use and integrate with our systems. Even working through some issues that have come up, the support team has been very helpful and respondent in coming up with solutions that work for our company. The setup itself is also quite easy including having Anrok walk us through getting them access to do filings on our behalf. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The reporting could be more customizable. Some of their tax assumptions are not in line with our nexus study therefore requiring custom tax codes which are tedious to setup again. Having this be something that a user can update and adjust as needed would be helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have no background experience in sales tax / vendor management but as an addition to my role as Sales Operations Manager, I've been tasked with this as a side role.
Given this context, it's terrific that I have a tool that can register for tax liabilities on my behalf and also calculate sales tax for invoices that I've generated to be sent out.
I came into my organization after Anrok had been already set up, but I love that it is a low-lift solution to helping me perform the part of my role that deals with this sort of thing. I mostly invoice out of Bill.com and so it's frequently used by me to generate the sales tax (where applicable) to those invoices.
Customer support is quick to respond which is helpful as we had dealt with a few issues on the finance reconciliation side (out of my scope). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would REALLY like it if there was an 'audit log' or dashboard of sorts where I could actually see that
1) Anrok has gone into Bill.com and reviewed the invoice I just generated
2) See the decision tree it made on whether to apply sales tax or not and at what rate.
I was told when I started at my organization that it just 'takes 30-60min' to calculate, with no actual indication of whether that process has started or finished. Any indication that the process 'is running' would be helpful.
I had a situation where I sent out an invoice that I waited a few hours to send, assuming Anrok would add sales tax if needed, only to see that it was applied AFTER the invoice was received by the customer - which obviously caused some confusion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
