What do you like best about TelmarHelixa?

The help desk are very helpful and answer questions quickly, they also answer the phone quickly which is great if you’re in a rush. The vast array of data sources is also good including TGI, pamco, click stream etc. Once you know how to use the data it becomes easy to use. There is lots of data to segment on such as demographic, acorn groups, income etc which is helpful due to the range of clients we work on. It’s great to be able to create multiple audiences within one run so you can directly compare to each other. It’s also very useful to be able to re name columns when you’ve added multiple filters to make it very clear what it is in a snapshot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TelmarHelixa?

Sometimes it is difficult to mine through the data to find what you need, this is even more so if you are looking for new ideas or inspiration and so are not sure what exact terms to search for. Especially when looking at more qualitative data like TGi lifestyle statements. Takes a while to understand how the system works. Sometimes the search button is difficult as you must remember to reset before searching again. It can take a while to load each new page which can be frustrating if in a rush. What do you like best about TelmarHelixa?

It is a really helpful aid for making our media decisions due to the ability to do in depth scenario planning. The reach numbers for so many different media types means that we can develop rigorous plans that are targeting the right people across a variety of platforms. Without this tool it is extremely difficult to calculate the overall impact that our media plans would have holistically.

It is also extremely useful for understanding the marketing opportunity available to us. For example, we can calculate who is consuming the products we are looking to sell and therefore use this information to calculate the audience which would give us the most opportunity to target.

Also, by using the survey data we are able to calculate lots of information about the audience we are wanting to target, where they are likely to consume and the time of day or week they are consuming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TelmarHelixa?

The tools are very clunky - particularly Media Planner +. It is very slow and likely to corrupt - often I have had long runs that have then corrupted and have sometimes been impossible to retrieve. What do you like best about TelmarHelixa?

I like Telmar's crosstab interface and its ability to allow me to use its platform to analyze/crosstab data from different databases. It allows me to take Scarborough data or MRI data or data from other providers and run crosstabs on a single platform. It allows me not to have to subscribe to numerous crosstab platforms -- just the one from Telmar. I like that by subscribing to Telmar, other sources of information are provided to me within its system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about TelmarHelixa?

I like the range of categorical data that you can garner from the platform and the many helpful data display and visualization tools. Telmar also provides trainings in person and have a very flexible schedule to train users and teams over the phone and are swift in responding to unique / individual questions or obstacles that arise. Telmar is easy to get a hang of and can be a great tool to apply to research on a daily basis. Telmar also frequently updates it's tools and offerings; it gets better, faster, and stronger all the time. I like the sense of security I feel with using the Telmar platform, there are so many variables to sift through and ways to compare target segments, it's just so insightful especially when comparing data from different time periods, regions, genders, age groups, etc. I would recommend this platform to anyone conducting market research. What do you dislike about TelmarHelixa?

Depending on where you work or who you are working with, certain people have certain experience with either more dated versions of Telmar or more frequent versions. Some Telmar users prefer to pull data from specific program while other users might have different preferences on which Telmar program is the "standard" program, even though each is so helpful and equally valuable. Another dislike I have about Telmar is that the platform can get overwhelmed while running a huge data pull and it will crash over and over and sometimes you have to get very creative in how to alter your data mining operation to still garner the desired data. This could even mean breaking up a huge data pull into many smaller pulls - it can be frustrating when the request for that data is very time sensitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about TelmarHelixa?

You have the ability to search individual locations for OOH, mix media reports with other Media, or get a better understanding of radio

When it comes to analyzing ooh data, there isn’t many options. Geopath is so focused on helping out agencies instead of the people that actually pay them, that their products are basically useless for us, telmar at least gives us the ability to manipulate the data in a valuable manner

Lately, they’ve tried to improve the UX but not to much success, they basically copied page by the page the geopath model, which makes sense because that’s their data set, but then didn’t add any additional features to make it more valuable and limited its ability to speak to the other applications within telmar.

Currently the only programs in telmar i use are tops, Adplus and media360

Fortunately they updated the Citrix plugin and you don’t have to download it to login it just runs on Your browser now Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TelmarHelixa?

You can drop inventory sets in, at least not in the useful version. The new side is pointless

Working with the telmar support team is always tough, because the program is running on a super old server it crashes all the time and when you need to get things reset, it’s always a hassle. We have to send at least 5 emails back and forth confirming we really need help at least once a week, the same problem has happened for the past 2 years but they act like it’s a new issue everytime we talk

When we’ve tried to schedule trainings, they have a strict training agenda. Instead of listening to our problems they show us what they want to show us and get out. We’ve had experiences asking for help in 1 area of the program and they got on and trained about a completely separate area. When it was brought up they said, today we want to train you about this, we can schedule another time to address your concerns, even though it was scheduled to address our concerns Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about TelmarHelixa?

I appreciate how easily Telmar organizes collected data to better understand different audience segments based on my chosen categories.

Telmar really has a range of data points that make it easy for anyone and everyone to find different sets of information that will help enable understand the research in hand. I was able to optimize the data points in hand and further analyze the points to look at a range of consumers and non-consumers. What do you dislike about TelmarHelixa?

I do wish that the interface could be updated to make it more visually attractive. Another issue I have is with e-telmar. I do believe that the speed of the platform is something that must be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about TelmarHelixa?

I was hired by telmar to test and verify some process of upgrading and testing for transmission equipment. According to my experience in telco, they have an impecable quality control for managing sensitive equipment. They care for maintaning their inventory with updated releases of software and for their personnel to have good training of the process of testing and upgrading boards.

Once your knowledged on the platform you can jump back on with ease and rerun saved audience pulls to get updated figures or make small tweaks.
