"Semrush: An All-in-One SEO Powerhouse for Keyword Research and Content Planning"
What do you like best about Semrush?

What I like best about Semrush is how all-in-one it is for SEO and digital marketing. It makes keyword research, competitor analysis, and site audits really straightforward, even if you’re not an expert. I also like how detailed the data is, especially for tracking rankings and finding content opportunities. It’s a tool I keep coming back to when planning and optimizing content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

What I dislike about Semrush is that it can feel a bit overwhelming at first because there are so many tools and features. The pricing can also be a bit high for beginners or small creators who are just starting out. Once you get used to it, though, it becomes much easier to navigate and use effectively. "Semrush Makes AEO Easy with a User-Friendly Tool and Helpful Content"
What do you like best about Semrush?

We’ve been playing around with AEO since the second half of last year, and Semrush has been a huge help for us. It’s been great to see their AEO functionality actively evolving alongside our own skills as we figure out what “proper” AEO actually looks like in practice. The interface is also as user-friendly as ever, which makes it easy to jump in and get to work without friction.

Beyond the tool itself, they’ve also started producing a lot of genuinely relevant blog content on AEO since last year. It does a nice job of breaking down which factors really matter and which things you can safely ignore. I’d encourage anyone using Semrush for AEO to check out those posts. And while I haven’t looked yet, I suspect there are probably some solid materials on this in the Semrush Academy as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

The main downside for us right now is that their production pace and updates don’t move quite as fast as they could. The AI search landscape is changing overnight, and we expect new features to roll out a bit sooner to keep up with the trend. Because of that slight lag in capabilities, we currently have to use two completely different platforms at the same time to get everything we need done. For example, we rely on a tool called Profound alongside Semrush to fill in the gaps, which can be frustrating when, ideally, you just want a single platform to handle your entire workflow. "Accelerates SEO Strategy with Actionable Insights and Powerful Tools"
What do you like best about Semrush?

What I like most about Semrush is how quickly it helps you move from thinking, “I think this is the problem,” to knowing exactly what to do next. Working with keywords makes it easy to go from a broad topic to a focused list of target queries, showing intent, difficulty, and real chances to rank. This way, you avoid wasting time on keywords that don’t matter. For competitor research, it clearly shows what’s bringing traffic to other sites right now, down to specific pages and keyword groups, so you can build your strategy faster and with more confidence. On the technical side, the Site Audit is useful because it gives you a clear list of fixes you can give to developers and then track improvements over time. The reporting is also helpful if you manage several projects, since you can show progress in a way that clients and non-SEO team members can easily understand, without needing a long explanation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

Semrush can sometimes feel overwhelming. With so many tools and tabs, it’s easy to get lost clicking around instead of focusing on your tasks, especially if you don’t use it daily.

The numbers can be a bit unreliable. Keyword volumes, difficulty scores, traffic estimates, and backlink metrics are all just estimates. If you treat them as exact, you might make mistakes. I find Semrush most helpful for spotting opportunities and patterns, then double-checking important decisions in Search Console, GA4, and real search results.

Position Tracking can become costly and tricky when you use it on a large scale. If you track many keywords across different locations or devices, you might reach your limits quickly. The backlink data is good, but it’s not always up-to-date or complete for every niche, so you may notice some gaps compared to other link tools.

For technical SEO, the Site Audit tool is useful, but it sometimes flags too many issues or treats rare cases as urgent. You still need an experienced person to decide what really affects rankings and revenue.

The content recommendations are a good starting point, but if you follow them too closely, you might end up with content that sounds like everyone else’s. It’s better to use them as a guide and aim for something more original. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All-in-One SEO Tool That Simplifies Strategy & Execution"
What do you like best about Semrush?

From keyword research and competitor analysis to site audits and rank tracking, it saves a lot of time by eliminating the need to switch between multiple tools. The keyword data is quite reliable, and the ability to analyze competitor strategies - especially their top-performing pages and keywords - helps in planning more effective SEO campaigns.

The Site Audit feature is another highlight, as it clearly identifies technical issues and prioritizes them, making it easier to take action. I also find the Position Tracking tool very useful for monitoring performance trends and reporting to clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

One of the main drawbacks of Semrush is its pricing, which can be quite high, especially for smaller teams or individual users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Semrush Made Local Listings Easy"
What do you like best about Semrush?

I use Semrush primarily for local listing management, and it has been an incredible tool for keeping our business information accurate and consistent across directories. The Local Listing Management feature makes it easy to update and sync our business details everywhere at once, saving a huge amount of manual effort. Managing our Google Business Profile through Semrush has been especially seamless — tracking changes, monitoring our listing health, and ensuring everything stays up to date is all in one place. The automatic review responses are timely and professional, which has been a game-changer for maintaining our online reputation without added workload. The listing tracking and ranking improvements we've seen week over week have directly contributed to growing our business. Best of all, the initial setup was quick and painless — we were up and running with no issues at all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

The only minor downside is that some features took a bit of time to find — the platform is packed with tools, so navigating it has a slight learning curve at first. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All-in-One SEO Tool That Saves Time"
What do you like best about Semrush?

Honestly, the biggest thing is how much time it saves. Being able to handle SEO, listings, and competitor research all in one platform just makes everything way more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

Pricing can be a bit steep, especially for smaller teams or businesses that may not use every feature. It would be nice to have more flexible pricing based on actual usage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Semrush’s AI Visibility Toolkit Keeps Us Proactive as Search Evolves"
What do you like best about Semrush?

What stands out most is how Semrush is evolving beyond traditional SEO into AI visibility. The AI Visibility toolkit gives us a clearer picture of how our content is being surfaced in emerging search experiences, which is critical right now. It’s helped us stay proactive instead of reactive as search behavior shifts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

The platform can feel a bit dense, especially with newer features layered in. There’s a learning curve to fully understand which insights are most actionable versus exploratory. Streamlining the UI or offering clearer prioritization would make it easier to move faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Comprehensive SEO Solution Packed with Powerful Features"
What do you like best about Semrush?

The scope of the software - it has so many different tools and features, for all different aspects of an SEO campaign. It's an end-to-end solution, where many of the competing tools only look at a small area of SEO. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

The huge range of tools does mean that it can take you a bit of time to get your head around it all. I've been using the software for at least 5 years now, and I'm always discovering more tools and features. It can be a bit overwhelming at first. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Comprehensive SEO Toolkit with Insightful Features"
What do you like best about Semrush?

What I like most about Semrush is honestly the amount of data it gives you. The keyword tools like Keyword Magic and Keyword Overview are really helpful when you are trying to find question-type searches, long tail stuff, or just gaps in content you can target.

I also use it a lot for competitor research. It makes it pretty easy to see what other sites are doing and how they structure their content to show up in search results. Looking at things like featured snippets, PAA questions, and search intent changes has been really useful for planning content.

The site audit and on-page SEO tools are also solid. They help catch issues pretty quickly and make sure pages are actually ready to rank. Overall it just saves a lot of time compared to trying to piece all this together from different tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

The biggest downside is probably the price. It is a really powerful tool but it can get expensive, especially for small teams or solo people. Once you start adding more users or projects the cost can go up pretty fast.

Another thing is the learning curve. There are so many features that it can take a while to figure out what you actually need and where everything is. When you first start using it the interface can feel a bit overwhelming tbh.

Once you get used to it though it becomes easier, but the beginning can be a bit confusing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Semrush Turns Data Into Context You Can Act On"
What do you like best about Semrush?

What keeps me coming back is the rabbit hole it lets you go down — and the number of features is exactly what makes that rabbit hole so deep. I'll start by checking one keyword and two hours later I've mapped out an entire content strategy using tools I didn't even know Semrush had. The data doesn't just tell you what's happening, it tells you WHY your traffic dropped on a Tuesday, why a competitor suddenly blew up, why a page that should be ranking isn't. Every single one of those answers lives inside a different feature, and they all connect. Other tools give you numbers. Semrush gives you context — and an entire arsenal to act on it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

There's so much you can do that sometimes you just don't know where to start. It's like walking into a huge buffet when you're starving — everything looks good and you end up standing there longer than you should. I wish the interface made it a little easier to discover features you didn't even know existed, because I guarantee most people are sitting on tools that could change their business and they just haven't found them yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
