## Shopify POS Reviews
 ### 1. Incredible Mobile POS for Trade Shows—Customizable, Tap to Pay, and Offline Ready

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordan D. | Website Manager, Retail, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Shopify POS?**

I really like the ability to take in person orders from the palm of my hand via an iPad or iPhone with the Shopify POS app. If you use a newer iPhone you can even take tap to pay payments with your phone without the need for any extra hardware. I can customize the POS screen fully with discounts, custom tiles, shipping options, and more. Compared to traditional POS systems with clunky hardware this is incredible. We use Shopify POS across multiple iPads when we go to trade shows. We can use it with wifi, starlink, or offline.

**What do you dislike about Shopify POS?**

There are two things that cause us issues with Shopify POS. First, if you get logged out of your Shopify account while at a show it can be difficult to get logged back in quickly especially if you have 2FA enabled, like we do. I understand the security aspect, but we need access in a hurry and never know if/when we will get logged out by the system. Second, setting orders to ship instead of in person sales can be tricky. If done wrong you will pull inventory from the incorrect location and your inventory count will be off.

**What problems is Shopify POS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify POS is solving the issue of making in person sales at trade shows and events that our company attends. We attend many off-road, motocross, racing, and remote events that don't really have a place to set up a traditional computer for sales. Our team can easily walk around with an iPad or phone and complete transactions from anywhere without the need to sit down at a desk. We can also take cash and card payments easily instead of just typing in credit card numbers.

 ### 2. Helpful Support, Reliable POS systems, and Flexible Payment options

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason L. | Network Administrator, Retail, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Shopify POS?**

Shopify POS has been a terrific point of sale solution for our Gift Shop. The price was within our scope and has continued to remain affordable for our needs. Shopify Support reps are always available to help with issues at the POS registers and with questions about the Admin Panel, and have always been knowledgeable and friendly to our staff and managers. We have had no issues in performance, one of the reasons we had to make a change to a new POS system was the need to offer all forms of payments to our customers and Shopify POS takes care of that very well.

**What do you dislike about Shopify POS?**

There were and still are some limitations to the core Shopify store, both at the Point of Sale and in the Admin Panel. This is to be somewhat expected, a few examples such as Inventory management was pretty limited and I had to work outside of the box to get it setup how I needed. There was nowhere to ad a bin location nor was there any way to have a second location for a product like in a stockroom. Since then they have added a column for Bin Number in the product display which proved they do actually listen and implement idea and needs that us customers call in about.
Another limitation is where we needed a simple way to prompt customers to make a donation if they would like, The Customer facing card reader has many features to customize on its touch screen. There is a feature in Shopify for adding a Tip option here. This would have been perfect if we were able to edit the term 'Tip' do 'Donation' but that was and still is not a customizable field.
A future option maybe, but so far not yet. We created another work around solution for this. Overall, it does everything we need it to.

**What problems is Shopify POS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to upgrade all of the Ingenico payment devices in our environment to be able to offer contactless payment options as well as maintain compliance. That cost alone was comparable to the switch me made to a new platform so we began comparing options, Shopify could also provide an online presence that we saw in our future so it solved a few problems. Pricing worked out as well so we jumped in.

 ### 3. eCommerce Excellence But Fails At Brick & Motor Inventory Functions

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abigail D. | Senior Administrator, Retail, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Shopify POS?**

I enjoyed the style of Shopify POS, as it made the process feel simpler for staff and the UI was fresh and appealing, making onboarding new sales staff less daunting. I also found the integration with marketing tools quite useful. The semiautomatic marketing tools in Shopify enabled easy follow-ups with existing customers to ask for reviews or inform them of sales, which helped our paperless operation.

**What do you dislike about Shopify POS?**

It seems they put most effort into the looks instead of function. The features were heavily tilted to selling and marketing, when it came to functions necessary to operating a store, things like stock and inventory management were insufficient, unreliable or nonexistent. We were unable to fully commit to this product because it did not have the basic features we needed. There is no stocktaking function in the program, barcodes scanned on the POS app rarely worked, the options for an 'end of day' cashup were far too limited, and the options to print anything even using 'legacy printer' were being removed. Painstaking setup adding all products into the backend and setting up all store locations and we had to abandon that side of Shopify and go back to our prior program. Also the constant unavoidable updates would often break functions, limit them or hide them under additional buttons (increasing workflow steps) The pricing grows as your business does but it feels more like a punishment than a partnership.

**What problems is Shopify POS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify POS is portable, usable on an iPad, enabling easy email or SMS receipts. The user interface is friendly and simplifies processes and onboarding for staff. Integration with marketing tools allows automatic customer follow-ups for things like sales and reviews. It is geared toward ecommerce.

 ### 5. Simple, Intuitive POS That Syncs Seamlessly with Your Online Store

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Radhika R. | Full Stack developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Shopify POS?**

What i really like about the shopify POS is how simple and easy it is to use. You dont need much training to get started, and everything feels quite intuitive. The best part is how smoothly it connects with the online store, so managing products and orders in one place becomes super convenient. I also like how fast the checkout process is and how everything stays synced in real time, like inventory and customer data. It saves a lot of effort and makes daily operations much easier, especially if you are handling both online and offline sales.

**What do you dislike about Shopify POS?**

One thing I dont like about shopify POS is the pricing. Some useful features are only available in higher plans, which can feel a bit expensive, especially for small businesses. Also certain advanced features and integrations sometimes require extra apps, which adds to the overall cost. Another downside is that customization options are somewhat limited in a few areas, like reports and POS specific settings. Occasionally, the system can feel slightly slow when syncing data or handling large inventories.

**What problems is Shopify POS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify POS solves the problem of managing online and offline sales separately. Earlier, it was difficult to keep track of inventory, orders and customer data across different systems, but shopify POS brings everything into one place. This makes it much easier to manage products, avoid stock mismatches, and reduce manual work. It also simplifies the checkout and billing process, which helps save time and improves the customer experience. having real time data and unified report makes decision making faster and more accurate. Overall, it helps streamline daily operations and makes running a retail business much more efficient and less stressful.

 ### 6. Seamless Online-to-In-Store Sync with a Clean, Reliable POS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rene M. | Solution Architect, Outsourcing/Offshoring, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Shopify POS?**

Shopify POS is a smooth, reliable point-of-sale system that works especially well for businesses already running on Shopify. Its biggest advantage is how seamlessly it connects in-store and online sales: inventory, orders, customer profiles, and product data stay synced in real time. The interface is clean and intuitive, so staff can learn it quickly, and checkout stays fast with multiple payment options. It’s also flexible when it comes to hardware support, staff permissions, discounts, and reporting, which makes it a strong fit for retail teams that want a unified commerce experience without a complicated setup.

**What do you dislike about Shopify POS?**

Some features that larger retailers often need—such as deeper reporting, advanced permissions, or more complex workflows—may require higher-tier plans or additional apps. Overall, customization is strong, but certain edge-case requirements (like unique tax rules or specialized inventory handling) can take extra configuration and fine-tuning. Hardware costs can also add up, depending on the store setup and the number of locations.

**What problems is Shopify POS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify POS addresses the challenge of managing in-store retail sales while staying fully connected to an online store. It keeps products, inventory, and customer data synchronized across channels, which reduces manual work and helps prevent inventory mismatches. As a result, operations run more efficiently, the customer experience improves, and it becomes easier to handle orders, returns, and staff workflows from a single platform. Overall, it supports a more consistent and scalable omnichannel retail operation.

 ### 7. Shopify POS Makes Selling Effortless with Seamless Inventory and Customer Sync

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zein K. | Web developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Shopify POS?**

What I like most about Shopify POS is how it fades into the background. I make a sale in-store, and my online inventory, customer data, and reports update automatically. There are no end-of-day reconciliation rituals and no spreadsheets to “fix” reality.

The interface is another major win. It’s straightforward enough that new staff can ring up sales almost right away, yet not so stripped down that it feels limiting in day-to-day use. The buttons are where your hands expect them to be. That may sound like a small detail, but in retail, friction adds up fast.

**What do you dislike about Shopify POS?**

My biggest frustration with Shopify POS is the reporting. The built-in reports are fine for quick spot checks, but they’re too limited for real retail analysis. If you need deeper insight—things like staff performance, margin tracking, or cash variance—you quickly end up exporting data or paying for extra apps, and that gets old fast.

Inventory management is another weak point. It’s solid for simple catalogs, but as soon as you add bundles, complex variants, or multi-location logic, it starts to feel brittle. It’s not broken; it just feels clearly designed with an ecommerce-first mindset rather than inventory-heavy retail.

**What problems is Shopify POS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The core problem Shopify POS solves for me is fragmentation. Before it, online and in-store felt like parallel universes. Same products, same customers, different systems arguing with each other. Shopify POS collapses that into a single source of truth.

Inventory is the biggest win. I don’t worry about overselling online because someone just bought the last unit in the store. That alone saves time, refunds, and awkward customer conversations. The system updates instantly, which means I trust it—and trust is everything in operations.

 ### 8. Seamless Integration and Stellar Support Make Shopify POS a Standout

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pratik G. | Sr. Software Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Shopify POS?**

A standout feature that many reviewers highlight is Shopify POS's ability to seamlessly integrate online and in-store operations. The system offers real-time inventory synchronization, unified customer profiles, and centralized product data, all of which are frequently mentioned as key strengths. This unified approach is consistently recognized as one of the platform’s core advantages. and It's easy to use, customer support is fantastic.

**What do you dislike about Shopify POS?**

There are concerns about cost, as some users believe that smart inventory reporting and advanced staff controls are only accessible through the more expensive plans. Additionally, one reviewer highlights the system's limited offline capabilities, mentioning that it cannot reliably process transactions without an internet connection. Another user points out the lack of design flexibility within the POS or store theme, which restricts customization options. Finally, several reviewers note that important features are missing from the lower-tier plans, making upgrades to higher tiers almost necessary.

**What problems is Shopify POS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify POS addresses the challenge of managing online and in-store sales separately by bringing together inventory, orders, and customer information into a single dashboard. This centralization helps maintain accurate stock levels and minimizes operational mistakes. By synchronizing sales and inventory across all channels in real time, Shopify POS removes the need for multiple systems, which not only saves time but also streamlines reporting and makes integrations with accounting or ERP tools more dependable. Additionally, Shopify POS provides staff with one unified platform to serve customers efficiently and consistently. Its intuitive interface shortens training time, and it ensures that pricing, discounts, and customer profiles remain consistent across both online and physical locations.

 ### 9. Seamless Integration with Shopify E-commerce

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tom l. | sales and marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Shopify POS?**

I appreciate that Shopify POS provides a terminal and payment processor linked directly to our online store, sharing inventory so we're never unsure of what we have. It's great that it allows us to use an iPad to build orders with customers, instead of writing things down and going back to a computer to invoice. I like how seamlessly it works with local pickup orders; when a customer orders online for pickup, their order goes into the POS app, so we can verify and mark it fulfilled when they pick it up. The best feature for me is the packaging with our Shopify ecommerce, so we just manage the online store and everything lines up for POS. The initial setup was seamless, just a matter of checking a box for markets and connecting the card reader and printer, which took about 2 minutes.

**What do you dislike about Shopify POS?**

The only improvement I can suggest is some further customization on the receipt printer. But not necessary.

**What problems is Shopify POS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Shopify POS for processing transactions, managing local pickups, and syncing with my online store. It eliminates manual inventory management and allows us to build orders with an iPad instead of running back to a computer.

 ### 10. Highly Customizable, but Needs Clearer QuickBooks Conversion and AR Reporting

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley A. | Finance Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Shopify POS?**

I like that you can tailor the platform to fit your specific business needs.

**What do you dislike about Shopify POS?**

I don’t like that some apps or add-ons still haven’t been created, such as reliable accounts receivable reports. The data conversion to QuickBooks also isn’t very clear—for example, where does store credit go?

**What problems is Shopify POS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It connects our online and brick-and-mortar locations well. We also have multiple locations, and it supports that setup smoothly.

 ### 11. Effortless Stock Management, Seamless Ecommerce Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Caitlin X. | Retention Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Shopify POS?**

I like Shopify POS because it was made with e-commerce in mind and e-commerce first, which aligns perfectly with how much shopping is done online these days. The seamless integration between online and in-store is something I really appreciate, especially in this post-COVID world where such integration is vital. It's very easy to manage and gives me a clear view of where stock is located between physical stores and the online store with just a simple iPad. This simplicity means anyone can easily track inventory without the worry of duplicate stock movements. Overall, Shopify POS is built for first-world e-commerce integration, making it really effective.

**What do you dislike about Shopify POS?**

There probably could be some improvements to the interface and linking customers from the POS. But overall, it's a really great platform and there's not too much to complain about.

**What problems is Shopify POS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Shopify POS to manage stock easily across physical and online stores. It provides clear visibility with no duplication of stock movements, using just an iPad.

 ### 12. User-Friendly POS with Integrated Hardware and Software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaison J. | Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Shopify POS?**

I bought Shopify POS for my uncle's shop to enable wireless payments, which has been a big support for us in billing. I like that Shopify provides both software and hardware as a product, unlike some companies that sell only one or the other. It's very user-friendly, designed in a way that even a small kid can use it, which really sets it apart from others. We find the software itself user-friendly enough that we haven't needed to switch to anything else.

**What do you dislike about Shopify POS?**

My kind request the delivery and delivery price is so high compare to others they need to concentrate on this this is their major issue, if they low the price of the shipping everyone could buy it affordable

**What problems is Shopify POS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify POS allows wireless transactions, supporting us in billing payments. It provides both software and hardware, unlike some companies. It's user-friendly, making it easy for anyone to use.

 ### 13. Efficient and Reliable POS System with Minor Improvements Needed

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Akash g.

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Shopify POS?**

I use Shopify POS for various purposes like selling in person, managing customers, staff management, managing orders, and fulfillment. Shopify POS solves many problems for me, such as easy inventory tracking across locations, fast checkouts with barcode scan options, and quick discounts and refunds, including exchanges. What I like most about Shopify POS is having everything under one platform with fast and secure payments. I appreciate the smooth billing, easy returns, and the reports feature. It makes selling faster, simpler, and more reliable with easy-to-use dashboards, and offers quick payments with multiple options. Also, the initial setup was very easy and amazing.

**What do you dislike about Shopify POS?**

I find staff management has limitations that could be improved, and the hardware cost and compatibility can be better.

**What problems is Shopify POS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Shopify POS for selling in person, managing customers, staff, and orders. It solves problems like easy inventory tracking, fast checkouts with barcode scans, and quick discounts and refunds, making the selling process faster, simpler, and more reliable.

 ### 14. Effortless In-Store Sales Management, Needs Faster Syncing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashok S. | Sr.Technical Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Shopify POS?**

I love using Shopify POS because it’s super easy to use and works smoothly with my online store. It allows me to manage my in‑store sales, billing, and inventory efficiently while keeping everything synced in real time. The real-time syncing ensures billing is faster and inventory remains accurate. The initial setup was also very easy, with the app guiding me step‑by‑step, making the whole process hassle-free and quick.

**What do you dislike about Shopify POS?**

Shopify POS is good overall, but it could be improved by giving faster syncing, smoother offline mode, and more flexible customization options so the billing and inventory flow feels even more seamless. Shopify POS could improve by giving faster, real‑time syncing even on slow networks and a stronger offline mode that saves data more reliably so billing and stock updates never get delayed.

**What problems is Shopify POS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Shopify POS to manage in‑store sales, billing, and inventory, keeping everything synced with my online store in real time. It solves managing in‑store challenges by making billing, inventory, and customer handling fast, simple, and stress-free.

 ### 15. Easiest POS for Payment Flexibility, Needs Sync Improvements

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kate S.

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Shopify POS?**

I like its ease of use and how the app itself is very easy to understand and easy to check out a customer. You can easily add discounts to your orders and easily find your orders within the bottom bar. And I can check people out pretty fast. The initial setup was really easy as it automatically attached to my account, and I didn't have to do much setup.

**What do you dislike about Shopify POS?**

Sometimes the app doesn't automatically sync to the regular Shopify app, causing changes and delays in edits. Additionally, I have to reset the app or go into settings to reset my PIN to log in, as it sometimes locks me out.

**What problems is Shopify POS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify POS helps me capture payments at trade shows and conferences easily with multiple devices. It allows my customers to pay using various methods like Apple Pay and cards. I like its ease of use, ability to quickly add discounts, and fast checkout process.

 ### 16. The Perfect Integration for Our Points of Sale

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juliette P. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Shopify POS?**

I appreciate that Shopify POS is well integrated between the website and the points of sale. This allows for exchanges and returns from the site in-store and facilitates click and collect. It is really very useful for offering an omnichannel customer experience, where a customer buys either online or in-store without seeing any difference. Moreover, the initial setup is really very intuitive if you are already using Shopify for the website.

**What do you dislike about Shopify POS?**

For now, what could be improved in Shopify POS is particularly the inventory management, which is sometimes not always easy. It's not always easy to know if there are quantities available or not.

**What problems is Shopify POS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify POS integrates our inventory between the website and the stores in Paris and Lille. It simplifies exchanges and returns from the site to the store and offers click and collect, providing a consistent omnichannel experience and increasing the online conversion rate.

 ### 17. Empowered My Online Business Journey

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raymond M. | GTM Associate & Executive Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Shopify POS?**

I recently started using Shopify POS for designing clothes and setting up an online clothing store. I love that it offers endless possibilities, allowing anyone to start their online business. The platform provides full support and materials, making it easier to manage everything. I appreciate the designing tools that let me create and sell products, with Shopify suggesting recommended prices and offering exposure to a ready market. I find it flexible and love the do-it-yourself system, which really lets me be my own boss. The print-on-demand features included in the platform are also great, and setting it up was quite easy with helpful tips.

**What do you dislike about Shopify POS?**

Maybe expanding more on the trial period to allow new users more time to understand the platform and have packages that accommodate young entrepreneurs that are fresh in the business.

**What problems is Shopify POS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Shopify POS to easily design products and seamlessly connect with a store for printing and selling online.

 ### 18. Effortless Online-Offline Integration with Shopify POS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sanket P. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Shopify POS?**

What I like most about Shopify POS is how smoothly it connects online and offline sales in one system. Orders from the website and orders from the physical store show up in the same dashboard, which makes inventory and reporting much easier to manage. Another big plus is I show how easy it is to set up and start using. Even non-technical staff can quickly learn the POS from a backend point of view. This reduces support issues because fewer things break or get misused. I also like the real-time inventory sync. When a product is sold in store, stock updates instantly online; this avoids overselling and saves a lot of manual work. The integration with the tight Shopify ecosystem is another strong point. Payments, customer profiles, discounts, and tax rules work together without extra configuration. The POS app is stable and responsive, which is very important in a physical store where delays directly affect customers.

**What do you dislike about Shopify POS?**

One thing I don't like is that advanced POS features require higher plans or add-ons. Basic use is fine, but as soon as you need more control, the cost increases. Customization can feel limited, especially for complex store workflows. If businesses have special billing or checkout logic, it's not always easy to adapt the POS to that. From the technical side, deep backend customization is restricted; you rely heavily on Shopify APIs and the app ecosystem, which means you cannot fully control everything. another downside is offline limitation While basic sales work fine, some features still depend on a stable internet connection. Reporting is good for daily operation, but advanced analytics often require third-party tools or experts.

**What problems is Shopify POS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify POS solves the problem of managing online and physical store sales separately. Many businesses struggle when systems don't talk to each other, leading to inventory issues, reporting confusion, and operational mistakes. With Shopify POS, everything is centralized: products, customer orders, and inventory live in one place. This reduces complexity and saves time for both technical and nontechnical teams. from a backend perspective, it removes the need to build custom sync system between POS and online stores Shopify handles consistency, which lowers maintenance and reduces bugs. It also benefits me by making data reliable. Sales data from all channels follows the same structure, making integrations with accounting analytics or ERP tools much cleaner. Another big benefit is faster store operations. Staff can focus on selling instead of dealing with technical issues. Fewer system errors mean fewer urgent backend fixes. Shopify POS also helps with salability. As a business grows to multiple stores or locations, the same system can handle it without rebuilding infrastructure. It improves customer experience too. Staff can see purchase history. Offer refunds easily and apply discounts consistently across online and offline channels. For demos, pilots or fast rollouts, Shopify POS is very useful You can launch a store quickly without heavy technical setup, which is ideal for testing ideas or new markets. Another benefit is security and compliance. Payments and sensitive data are handled by Shopify, reducing backend risk and compliance effort. Another benefit is less dependency on technical support for daily store work. Store staff can handle returns, exchanges, and order lookups on their own. This reduces small operational questions coming to the tech or backend team again and again. shopify POS helps with better staff productivity and training New employees can learn the system quickly because the interface is simple and familiar. This saves time during onboarding and avoids mistakes at checkout. One more important benefit is consistency across the business. Prices, discounts, tax rules, and product details stay the same everywhere online, in the store, in POS, and in reports. This consistency reduces confusion, customer complaints, and manual corrections later. Another thing I appreciate is how reliable the system feels during busy hours. When the store is crowded and many orders are coming in, Shopify POS continues to work smoothly. This reliability is very important because even a small delay at checkout can frustrate customers. Shopify POS also gives peace of mind for data backup and recovery. Orders, inventory, and customer data are stored safely in the Shopify system. If a device breaks or an app crashes, data is not lost, which reduces stress for both store staff and the technical team.

 ### 19. Easy to Use with Room for Reporting Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Neil B. | Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Shopify POS?**

I like that we are able to do carts with our products.

**What do you dislike about Shopify POS?**

I dislike that they took away the "save cart" option for people who need to save carts because they have multiple clients inside the business at the same time. Shopify is now very vicious and wants to basically make us purchase crazy expensive monthly plans just to have this feature. This is not nice or good at all, extremely dissapointed.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren C. | Co-owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Shopify POS?**

We started out with Shopify POS on our iphones with a little card reader, which was great. We upgraded to the POS Go when it came out in fall 2023, and it's been a total game changer. The software is essentially the same on the phone or the POS Go. It's pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it. You can switch between different locations if you're doing a pop-up in another state, apply discounts, send receipts, and capture customer info. Customers can also sign up for your newsletter on the spot if they wish.

The best part is the barcode scanning system that has saved us countless hours of typing a product's name. I recommend it to any other pop-up/flea/art market seller who is also on Shopify.

**What do you dislike about Shopify POS?**

There are very few bugs. Sometimes the scanner light won't work or something will freeze. We have been using the POS Go unit for about 1.5 years and every problem we've had has been fixed with a simple restart. The software can be a bit slow to respond.

My biggest gripe is the lack of support for subscription items on Shopify POS. This was a promised "coming soon" feature in summer 2023, but was pushed back until all mention of it was removed. PLEASE, Shopify, get this very important feature up and running! People want our subscriptions and we'd like to sign them up on the spot, not wait for them to visit our website.

**What problems is Shopify POS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scanning items quickly, streamlining the sales process, making checkout quicker, capturing customer data, tracking inventory

 ### 50. Smooth checkout process for both you and your customers
