SEMRush is intuitive and provides actionable insights into how to improve paid search and SEO efforts. I attribute SEMRush to being the main reason I was able to double organic traffic every year at one previous place I worked at. And at all the places I worked, it's been fantastic in helping identify new key paid search keywords to bid on. I've tried other tools, but in the ended up have come back to SEMRush each time. I've had SEMRush implemented at every company I've worked at. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some of my favorite functions and capabilities became add-ons. Had I stayed at the same job I'd have had the access to all these, but as I switched jobs, I found that my favorite tools have been made add-ons with extra costs attached. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Semrush has been a highly effective SEO tool for my business. First, I like that everything is thoughtfully organized and easy to find. This robust tool has a significant number of features for both beginners and experts. Initially, it can look intimidating because of all the features, but once you get into using it, the ease of use comes naturally. I use it daily and have become very accustomed to its interface. I also like the dashboard's visualization and reporting style.
The customer service is world-class! The Semrush agents communicate in easy-to-follow step-by-step steps and are very responsive to my inquiries.
I’m enjoying the Semrush tool for my SEO needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I dislike about Semrush is that I wish the Guru plan had a higher daily report allowance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The team are incredible. I had a couple of 1:1 sessions with one of their advisors to help me understand how to use the software better and how to get the most out of it.
There's so much it can do, I'm not even sure I'm halfway through learning yet - but there's a ton of help files and like I say - customer support only one short message away.
They are always on top of Google's latest moves and algorithm shifts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is quite expensive for a small business in the early stages and I do wonder how they'll work/pivot in light of the abundance of AI overviews and how they'll help their customers (i.e., us!) get these. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best part I like the keyword overview, magic tool and one of my best strategy builder tool where you can just give a seed keywords and semrush will give you the keywords buckets list that really helpful in increasing traffic.
Apart from the keyword research, the content marketing feature, backlink auditing features where you can identify the spammy link which is coming to your website and the last one is the my best because this is the most important part of SEO which is technical SEO . From identification to solution of errors in website of any projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing till now, as from starting when I start my digital marketing career I have used the SEMrush. And I like very much this software for basic to advance SEO. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There a re a stack of great features in SEMRush and it integrates with tools such as GA4 and LI for better insights. The SEO dashboard is a great way to get a high level view of how you are tracking. and you can dig deeper into any issues and see how you compare over time. I also like the site audit tool, to fix any issues on a weekly basis that may be affecting our scores. The key word tracker is also great, and I have been able to research keywords and then use the tools to create content in our niche and seen us enter in the top 100, and move down to the top ten by finding the right balance of key word difficulty/ and how people are searching (i.e.: commercial versus navigational). It's great that you can pull in your GA data for more accurate data on how your site is tracking. However, because of this, sometimes I think the competitor info may be inaccurate as it isn't pulling in the same way. So I have to keep this in mind. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
SEMrush has been a game-changer for my small business.
As a solopreneur, having access to data is crucial. SEMrush helps me track keywords, monitor competitors, and improve my website's SEO.
The platform is easy to navigate, even for non-tech-savvy users. One of my favorite features is the keyword tracking and content optimization tools, which have also helped me grow our organic reach.
As with any tool, implementation takes time and consistency—but the results are worth it.
Highly recommend it if you're trying to grow and compete online with limited resources! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only real downside is the price of the Pro version.
As a small business, the cost can feel like a stretch—especially when you're just starting out. It’s definitely an investment.
That said, SEMrush does offer a free version with very helpful features, which is a great way to get started and see the value before committing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
SEMRush helps with so many aspects for site health in your SEO efforts. I review site audit weekly to clean up any errors or issues with the site that need attention. Position Tracking is another feature I use weekly to see the rise and fall of the position or our terms. This helps me share the store of any strengths in our content, but also any holes where we are slipping for content gaps. Backlinks is another feature I watch weekly, including Listing Management to assist with this effort. It's easy to implement other tools into SEMRush for additional data. It's easy to train another user on how to use the tool that may not be as web savvy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I do wish there were more insights or suggestions made based on what data is shown for each area. I know Site Audit has this and can even assign portions to individuals. I wish this more global across the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've found Semrush's Local Listing Management tool to be incredibly user-friendly and efficient. Adding listings across multiple directories is simple and straightforward, which saves a lot of time. I also really appreciate how easy it is to monitor and respond to reviews directly from the platform. It’s been a great tool for managing my firm’s online presence and reputation in one place. The automatically generated review responses tend to be a bit generic and repetitive. I often find myself rewriting them to add a more personal touch that better reflects my business’s voice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love everything about this tool. The post creation, the individualization for various platforms, the ability to tag existing accounts... the list is never-ending. I use it everyday in my job and would not want to miss it.
My favorite aspect is the incredibly detailed insights Semrush Analytics provides! It has helped me refine my entire process when creating a posting schedule.
I also really enjoy playing with the content AI insights, while this may not be perfect in execution, it has some pretty good ideas that provide inspiration when I feel stuck! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's not really a dislike, but something that would be helpful for LinkedIn would be the option to paste an account link in case Semrush can't find the account on its own to ensure the right account gets tagged! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's a comprehensive resource that allows me to track my clients' progress and challenges, keyword trends, mentions, and even social media! With a single tool, I can analyze multiple aspects, even syncing data from GSC, GMB, and my clients' social platforms. Truly a must-have tool! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing I don’t like is the social media posting feature. I can't verify the quality of my hashtags or select music to accompany the post—meaning the client has to approve a version different from the final one. I also don’t like that for previewing, the client has to log into my account, which disconnects me in the process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So easy to use, DETAILED analytics, super reliable. In almost 2 years of using the platform it never goes down. The tracker abilities and analytical reporting are incredible and so easy to use, much better than other social media software tools I've used. The calendar is extremely friendly and just flows together, all of it wraps in well and JUST MAKES SENSE. That's one of biggest issues I've seen with other software, data and action points are all over the place. Analytics are great, I have to show yearly reports and semrush makes that incredbily easy. Tools seems to be updated every so often, but the features aren't always the greatest. It's good to see an evolving tool though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's a lot of "N/A" on certain reporting analytics, but that is pretty understandable. Being very picky here, but I think when looking at data over a year or more, the program lacks on the reporting. That being said, I don't think Meta or LinkedIn keep much data past a year, so pretty understandable. I would really enjoy more updates, and definitely try to have more tracker ablilites on LinkedIn. That was a huge loss for us. Customer support is lacking, with the FEW issues we've had, it's hard to get in contact with one account manager, and they seem to change out frequently.
