What do you like best about Restaurant365?

We've used Restaurant365 for over two years now... The biggest impact so far is we have been able to see a marked improvement in the management of our COGS saving us real money. As our main management system for 7 restaurants it has created an organization that was not there before for invoice management, accounts payable, and very importantly a way to analyze data in one space. As far as the accounting side, pulling financials is instant, tracking banking activity is typically only a few minutes of work instead of hours. We know that we aren't even using Restaurant365 to it's full capacity, it's something that is in our ongoing plan to continue to add features that are there for the use. If nothing else, in this season of financial upheaval and uncertainty we were able to see our trends in black and white, make adjustments to the way we are doing business to adjust to these times and most definitely when it came to applying for grants and federal relief, we had all the numbers at our finger tips. To have these benefits going forward will eventually propel us to opening more stores in the future... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Restaurant365?

My only real concern about Restaurant365 is just a heads up... the learning curve is real and a process. My suggestion is to make sure you have an excellent implementer from the start meaning you really feel like you work well together, if you don't, ask for someone else! Also try to have as many of your ducks in a row as possible from the start. Do the homework, play in the sandbox a lot, and get comfortable with how it operates before you go live. Our menu is quite detailed, we spent a lot of time after going live - way more than we expected to - getting recipes correct, inventories done correctly - and also working with beginning balances, general ledgers, payroll entries. Some of this was certainly due to what we had to start with, which was very little and/or a giant mess, but it also felt like we were in the wild west for some time. It's been worth it, truly, but just know it isn't an instant process - take the time to get off on the right foot! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Restaurant365:

My recommendation is to get everything together and be well organized in order to implement for a smoother transition. Make sure you work well with the implementer you are given by Restaurant365 and if you don't see it working, don't hesitate to ask to work with someone else! Utilize the sandbox situation prior to going live so that you are comfortable in the UI and able to hit the ground running. Their support is AMAZING - ask the questions and get clarification when needed. Do all of the tutorials if you can to get a base understanding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Restaurant365 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Restaurant365 has solved many things... To highlight a few: over/under inventory issues, cogs price gouging and management, time savings on accounting. The benefits we have realized are true dollars saved. No joke. We can see immediately when a vendor is gouging us on prices and do something about it... we have used all of our cogs numbers to show a vendor - "Hey - we buy THIS much of this product, let's make a deal and we'll use you exclusively." We can do easier menu analyses and adjust accordingly to what is selling, what is not, what has the best return, etc. Finally, TIME... there is something to be said for saving time on the mundane... reconciling bank accounts x7 in a matter of minutes instead of hours is amazing. What do you like best about Restaurant365?

R365 has become our one stop platform for many of our business, operations and people activities. The platform is user friendly, integrates with all the major systems we use (a few including our LMS, POSs, suppliers, Payroll processing and more) and gives visibility into financials at all levels. We'e been able to provide real time financial reporting to our teams to make a positive impact on the bottom line quickly- no more waiting months for P&Ls the "old fashion" way. I've also been very impressed with their technical and customer support- quick, friendly and thorough! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Restaurant365?

We really like software and it's functionality. I'd say the biggest "dislike" would be from some of our store level operators who now have far more eyes on their financials etc. Harder to fly under the radar with the visibility R365 provides. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Restaurant365 solving and how is that benefiting you?

A huge problem for our store level operators is the number of different tools they need to run a shift. We're leveraging R365 to combine as many of those daily tools into a one stop spot for our teams. R365 is our solution for everything Accounting, Inventory and Financials. We also use the Scheduling platform and its team member communication elements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Restaurant365?

I like that it is a cloud based command center. I can log in from anywhere for current business data. The amount of information to draw from is robust so the learning curve is steep but well worth the time and effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Restaurant365?

I wish the mobile app was better and more integrated. As with any software R365 has its quirks. For example, when printing checks for a run of invoices I can't add a memo line without saving it to a pdf then editing in Adobe Acrobat. I should be able to do it from the check creation screen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Restaurant365:

It's a great platform for gathering deep business data. I have no other platform to compare it to as an all-in-one but it does combine several software packages into one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Restaurant365 solving and how is that benefiting you?

its an all-in-one solution for accounting, reporting, and cost controls. When I have more mastery of the platform I can already see myself adding a few percentage points to the bottom line. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Restaurant365?

I liked that compeat payroll had many different tabs to save paperwork and documents; and that you can upload directly into the personnel file. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Restaurant365?

The biggest downfall for me, as HR, was the speed of the program. It was too slow to keep up with the fast pace that the HR Team worked at. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Restaurant365:

As always, look over the entire software to see what needs your company is looking for. Every company has different needs and wants for the program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Restaurant365 solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are no longer using Compeat, we moved to another program (APS Payroll) as Compeat couldn't offer all the needs that we were looking for company wide. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Restaurant365?

I have found the system to be rather intuitive and simple, making it easy to train new employees. R365 offers the ability to import new or update existing data through excel. I have found this to be extremely efficient and a huge time saver. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Restaurant365?

As a larger company, we have found the security groups to be extremely limiting because too many tasks are linked together giving users too many or too few capabilites. Development tends to be a little slow (took 5 months to complete something we were told would take 1 month). At the same time though, they will release system updates without warning, which have impacted our processes in the past and required emergency company wide training updates. Having some forewarning to what changes are coming would save us a some pain and time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Restaurant365 solving and how is that benefiting you?

The biggest problem solved with R365 is ease of use among our restaurant operators. Having an intuitive, simple system empowers them to learn and explore different reporting on their own. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Restaurant365?

It's the best and most functional restaurant management system I have ever used. User friendly and a one stop shop for all needs. Would recommend it to anyone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Restaurant365?

Still need to work on the setup for us restaurant people. Still a few things not built out and was left up to us to finish. Would like to see 100% complete and in use before the team backs off. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Restaurant365:

It's great you should use it, it will save you money if you are disciplined. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Restaurant365 solving and how is that benefiting you?

It saves you money despite the cost. Inventory loss and time wasted make up for the cost of the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Restaurant365?

Integration with POS and key vendors is very helpful to reduce data input. Integrated scheduling is pretty good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Restaurant365?

The user interface consistently makes things harder to accomplish. The always have bugs when they release new features. They have a flawed concept of how multi-unit accounting works which makes things more difficult. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Restaurant365:

It may be a sign of the times that software is bug-ridden and user-hostile but I would consider other packages before R365 because this program has been very frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Restaurant365 solving and how is that benefiting you?

It does the basics of running my businesses but I spend a lot of every week cursing them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Restaurant365?

I like the built-in integration to our point of sale system and the ability to attach images of invoices to our payables. I love that it is web-based so I can access anywhere. The support is solid and usually have a response within 24 hours. They do a go job of following up on outstanding issues. They listen to feedback and have implemented some of our suggestions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Restaurant365?

I think the reporting could be better. Some of the basic features of Quickbooks reporting seem to be a challenge for R365. Also could have some improved analytics tools. They recently added a premium reporting package that I think should be part of their basic suite. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Restaurant365 solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are more efficient and spend less time recording transactions and more time making business decisions. We have had some issues with our point of sale system giving good information and sometimes go to R365 for the information because it is more complete and accurate than the data we get from our POS. What do you like best about Restaurant365?

Clear process to manage food cost (comparing actual vs theoretical usage).

Scheduling for managers and team members is clear and simple. There's a scheduling app for employees to access schedule and request off.

A lot of built in reports and plenty modules cater to restaurants. There are commissary module and catering module that are also beneficial. Everything is in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Restaurant365?

There's no data to record historical recipe. Food cost report is accurate for current reporting. It can't be used to run historical food cost (for comparison).

From time to time, there's always a glitch in reporting. Whether some numbers do not show up on the report or calculation is not accurate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Restaurant365 solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are able to control prime cost, set metrics for managers to keep food cost and labor at certain level.

Investigate where the variance on food cost, whether team members are using too much or too little products, whether there are spillage that are not being recorded or too much spillage.

Inventory tracking cost, price variance tracking on the invoice, smart scheduling are some of the benefits that we get from Restaurant 365. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
