My companies user base loves the Cloud Based MoveIt! IT is always up, never down and is frequently used by our employees. Probably the best thing about it is it's ease of use which makes the adoption rate very high by all users. Uploading, downloading, requesting and sharing are all very easy to perform. The limited role options in administrative user creation. Only being able to be an Admin, FileAdmin or user is very limiting. I would like to see a Help Desk role implemented so I dont have to have Admin level users perform basic password resets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The application is easier to integrate with most of the aplication as it is available for connection in multiple protocols including the latest cloud storage options. Its flexible and comprehensive reporting makes it ideal for efficient and compliant file transfer management considering my organization likes to track every file going out of the organization. Sometimes we do not get proper solution from the Progress customer care for the issues we face with the application. Often times, you'll have to find the solution on you own, but its quite eay if you understand the application well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sitefinity is easy to use, is easy to customize and allows users to sync published content automatically or selectively to a live website (SiteSync). Sitefinty is a great CMS if you have a small to midsize website. Our website has grown to over 6000 pages, whihc includes 7 languages and it is very stabile. We are currently running in 14.4 which is the most stabile release and has a lot of new features. Depending on your needs, you don't have to be a full web developer to manage Sitefinty, but if helps, if you want to brach out and do more fancy stuf on your website. We are doing daily update on our site and and SiteSync comined with workflows is a life saver. We have product managers update their own content on our product pages, our PR and communication team create their onwn content and send it throught he appproval process, and so does the event team wich manages over 200 events on our website, including e-commerce, without every using our web team to get involved. Just like with everything a well organized system is key and Sitefinty brovided the tools to get or be organized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Upgrades to new releasesare easy enough as long as you have a proper source code repository installed that allow you to push updates throught the different servers for validation and verification. Workflows are still not easy enough to define and still lacking some functionality. The Integration with Insight, formerly called DEC has be come much better and more granulate but the cost for data storage is way to high, still. We are currently using Webhooks to send Insight data to our Marketing automation software Act-On, wihich seem to be working quite well. We are still in the early stages of implementation.
Online Marketing package still need more development.
E-commerce was discontinued, one of the reasons we decided on this platform, we decided to go with the semi-fully integrated UCommerce e-commerce software but ran into a number of issues and additional cost since there is no off the shelf sync option to sync content from a staging site to a procutions environment.
Adding additional languages and content is not easy and there should be a simple way to copy and entire page from the original language to any other language. We started using Lionbridge and the connector developed by Sitefinity to pull and pull translation content. The verdict is still out, but we are hopefull.
User profile info is limited. Customer support has improved, but to get more and you can now upgrade to better and faster support by paying more money. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
MOVEit Automation is a simple yet powerful tool. It is easy to train those who will use it. MOVEit Transfer is a solid platform that has run our secure FTP site well for many years. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
With the many options for doing things in MOVEit Automation, it can be a bit confusing. A traditional task is reasonably straightforward, while advanced tasks offer more power but don't seem to abide by the same logic, sometimes causing unexpected outcomes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
MoveIt allows you to transfer files to and from a number of different sources and destinations using different protocols. Mine include SFTP, HTTP, UNC, FTPNT. It gets the job done, but this product can be so much better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
You can only attach one file per email.
You can't disable algorithms and other things across all hosts with a single click.
You can't trap more than one file error per task run. It only reports the last error.
You can't remove an email address from multiple tasks at once. You have to go into each task and into each email type (Success, Failure, No Files). Very tedious...
You can't copy/clone an entire section of code in a task. You can only clone one line at a time.
You can't be in the config of a task and manually run another job if there is a problem. It makes you save what you are doing and takes you back to the beginning of the job when you want to do more configuration.
Reporting of hosts and tasks is awful and one of the worst that I have ever seen. Please get rid of the XML. It is difficult to work with when you have so many different configuration types. Please put more config info into the database, so that we can write queries and extract the data ourselves. The XML exports are the worst. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
MOVEit Automation has proven to be a very adaptable and efficient file transfer tool, with excellent functionality and an intuitive user interface. I particularly like the advanced task programmability and scripting functionality . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Two main dislikes: 1) the inabilty to have a fixed report format so there is a constant need to resize column widths
2) the need to click Show More many times when wishing to browse for files when there are hundreds returned
3) the inability to sort in the Browse returned files Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The web user interface is easy to navigate and provides a very gentle learning curve for new users. The supporting documentation is generally excellent, and the community seem very responsive. We use the MOVEit extensively on our own servers and to connect to third parties. Performance is very rarely an issue. It connects easily to a range of different host types. There have been a number of security scares over the years.
Sometimes more complicated file transfer processes are difficult to create due to slightly odd choices about what can and can't be done with "macros". Connections with some host types have limited options, not always making it easy to secure the connections in the way we'd prefer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Support and the ease of use to administer Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not many it just works some regular updates to the server are needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like best about Progress MOVEit is its strong emphasis on security and compliance, coupled with its ease of use. The platform's ability to encrypt files both in transit and at rest, along with detailed audit trails, provides peace of mind that sensitive data is well-protected. Additionally, the intuitive user interface makes it easy for both technical and non-technical users to manage file transfers effectively. The automation features are particularly valuable, reducing manual effort and ensuring that file transfers happen reliably and on schedule. The integration capabilities also stand out, allowing MOVEit to seamlessly fit into existing workflows and systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One potential downside of Progress MOVEit is that the initial setup and configuration can be complex, particularly for organizations with intricate requirements or limited technical expertise. While the user interface is generally intuitive, navigating some of the more advanced features may require a learning curve. Additionally, the pricing structure might be a concern for smaller businesses, as it can be on the higher side compared to simpler file transfer solutions. Finally, while MOVEit offers robust features, users seeking very specific customizations or niche integrations might find the available options somewhat limited without extensive use of the API. My favorite thing about MOVEit is that it just works. MOVEit is in the middle of a bunch of processes and it's the part that always just works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've had some headaches with upgrades, but they've all worked out in the end. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
