None to report. This might sound fishy, but it is the case! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Opal has re-thought traditional access management. They enable self-service like many products, but they take a unique approach and also provide the related capabilities (monitoring and auditing) to make it a fully-featured solution. This frees up our development teams to do more value added work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Opal is great for developers and technical teams but can be a little difficult for non-technical end users. If they can simplify the user experience there will be no use case that they can't address! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Opal has an intuitive UI and request workflow for end users, with complete control for administrators to define multiple request flows with mutiple stages, which can be configured via Terraform IaC. The Opal team have been excellent in understanding our requirements, providing details of how Opal can meet them and in the odd case where it couldn't have added features to ensure Opal could do what we needed. While the UI is excellent there could be more options to filter when searching through large data sets and for the search criteria to persist between page loads, for example when trying to find a specific AWS account in a list of hundreds. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Opal allows me to define what least privilege looks like and ensure its consistently enforced. This is the first product i've seen that enables deep, granular, zero trust access management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Using Opal requires that administrators genuinely care about least priviledge in their organizations. The product provides all the tools necessary, but you will need to understand who owns what, setup the necessary approvers, and ramp up on the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Opal product is a game changer for us in enterprise access management. However, Opal as a partner is the thing we like the most when considering to continue working with the company. Opal is both a fantastic prodct and the Opal team is a fantastic partner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We have not had any issues working with Opal that we haven't been able to resolve via the customer feedback and product development processes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Opal has been a great cornerstone for our identity and access program, enabling robust authorization controls in a super user-friendly manner. It's super easy to review and approve requests right from slack.
Opal makes a great combo with Okta, the ability to grant tiles behind certain approvals or rotating on-call schedules is amazing for reducing the risk of privileged accounts. Plus, the access review feature helps make auditing a breeze! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The webhook functionality is great for apps that aren't behind SSO but requires some extra overhead to set up custom functions for applications to manage access which can slow down onboarding new apps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

UI is smooth and clear to use. It's straightforwar to request access. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
* Documentation could be better with explicit examples, including in-app prompt and api docs
* Users are not able to click links to go to the apps from Opal Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Opal isn't just another security tool that produces too many warnings. Opal has enabled us to reduce risk by minimizing privilege across Engineering, while making it easy to obtain admin when needed. So far we've used it to minimize privilege on Kubernetes, IAM roles, breakglass, self-management of low-risk accounts, OpsGenie on-call integration, and the list goes on. Opal needs deeper integration with AWS. Few people have the experience necessary to write even simple IAM policies for accessing protected production resources. Opal should come with automatic integration for approved privilege escalation on basically any AWS resource -- the user should be able to type "I need admin access on bucket verkada-prod-thumbnails" or "I need eksadmin on the prod cluster", and Opal will come up with a reasonable IAM policy. Onboarding a variety of access patterns (Okta groups, AWS IAM roles, SSH access) in a flow that allows both technical and non-technical users to access resources smoothly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We leverage custom integrations with Opal, which is still an evolving part of their product. It allows us to integrate with our own internal API platforms, but it lacks stable documentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Customer Focus:
Drata's onboarding with Opal was a fantastic experience. Opal's entire team was incredibly reactive to our needs and feedback. During implementation, their sales engineer Andrew was a great resource and gave some of the best customer service we've ever had. Post implementation, they are still reaching out, meeting with us about feature requests/enhancements and giving regular product updates. Steven, Umaimah, Eugene, Kevin, Andrew, Alex and Lance are a fantastic team, and some of the best humans out there.
The Product:
Opal enhances Drata's internal IT processes:
Automating access requests by connecting to our stack and allowing employees to request access to applications, roles within applications, and Okta groups removes administrative overhead from access request IT tickets. Additionally, they have granular Github, AWS and Saleforce roles/profile access request capabilities. At Drata we utilize Opal in Slack; access requests via CLI are also available for heavy engineering shops. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We are looking forward to working with Opal on additional features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
