What do you like best about OnPay?

Customer support has been top-notch. We've had a number of relatively complicated items come up and their support has been helpful and quick to resolve things. Their interface is simple and intuitive. I've been accustomed to more complex systems such as PayChex and Paylocity, and this interface is refreshingly simple which is great for our current application. As the primary user of the system (using it multiple times each week, this is important for me. I've also appreciated the integrated services some of which we've taken advantage of. Initial implementation was also very easy. Their team was helpful and responsive and the how-to articles were also specific to our state and needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OnPay?

Not a problem with OnPay, per se, but the interface is different enough from other vendors that there is a learning curve to find certain settings or features if you're used to another system. Once I understood the system, though, I appreciate it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OnPay?

OnPay understands Payroll processing and Payroll taxes. I love that I can relax and know that my payroll is being handled professionally and accurately. I have employees in four different states and keeping track of all that would be a nightmare, but I don't have to worry about it because OnPay handles them all. My employees really like the interface and the direct deposit. They can look up their paystub and balances any time they want. I also pay contractors through OnPay, so my year end reporting for W-2s and 1099's is all taken care of! The price is very reasonable for the amount of work that this takes off of my plate - much less expensive than hiring a bookkeeper and more secure and private as well. What do you dislike about OnPay?

It can be a bit of a search to find the email to send in any notices from States and the AI chatbot is not very helpful yet, but I expect that will improve over time. The humans involved are extremely helpful and quick! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OnPay?

The best so far has been the onboarding team and how friendly and easy it was to work with them. There was no such thing as a dumb question and all information was easily accessible on the online portal. It was amazingly simple and quite painless. It covers more features than I needed in the software but it is good to know that the features are available when I need them Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OnPay?

The downside is it is all on me to plan and execute the payroll. My worry is always, I do not know what I dont know. It will take a bit of time of always asking questions of the CS team at OnPay but I'm hopeful the onbarding process is sign of the CS team as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OnPay?

It is easy to onboard new employees and customize pay types and rates. I also like that there are several add-ons. We use them to manage our 401k and they also have HR and other features that are optional. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OnPay?

There is a number to call for assistance but I'd appreciate a chat feature for quick questions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OnPay?

OnPay staff are great at customer support. I struggled a bit with setup, but the wonderful and patient people at OnPay got me up and running. Integration with QuickBooks makes running payroll a snap, and our accounts map seamlessly to the correct budget lines. They helped me find the settings that weren't quite right and stayed on the phone until the whole situation was sorted. What a wonderful experience! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OnPay?

Written instructions are limited for a person who is not already familiar with payroll setup. I tried to fix my issues, but because it was my first time setting up payroll I found it difficult to find the help pages containing the information I needed. This is a nonissue when you discover the staff are helpful and patient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OnPay?

After reviewing multiple payroll services for our small business, we decided to go with OnPay due to cost and services included. It is affordable, easy to use, and the services provided save me time and eases my mind when it comes to quarterly filings because I know OnPay is taking care of it for me. Helps ease that "oh no! I forgot something" when a deadline hits. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OnPay?

I don't really dislike anything. It can be a little tricky to change the pay frequency when you have to do a special run (like sudden employee termination), but I figured it out and got through it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OnPay?

OnPay has some of the most helpful customer service staff I have ever encountered. Any issues I've had have been resolved very quickly and concisely. I have usually only had to speak to one person to resolve my issue. It is also super easy to run payroll and minimizes my workload significantly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OnPay?

There are a lot of services I do not use on OnPay and I wish I could edit my dashboard to not show the services I do not use. Also, the Payroll schedule formatting is not super intuitive and it took me a few rounds to truly understand what days go in which payroll cycle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Ty Collins of OnPay

We're glad to hear that OnPay has helped streamline your payroll process and provided valuable learning opportunities. We're here to support you every step of the way.

What do you like best about OnPay?

The onboarding specialist was knowledgeable and professional, yet personable and patient (I asked a LOT of questions). The specialist was very responsive with email replies and made it easy to schedule time to talk. The company set up and employee profile set up were simple to navigate done quickly. For small business or non-profits this is a great payroll system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OnPay?

Some of the functions or features were tricky to find at first but once I knew where to find them it will easy in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OnPay?

When we finally committed to making the switch to OnPay from our previous provider, the transition went very smoothly. OnPay did all the transferring of information which made it a less overwhelming task.

Their pricing for our non-profit organization is very helpful to our budget. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OnPay?

The only thing that was not clear to me after verifying my bank through the automated process, was that I needed to record the amounts that were debited to my bank account from OnPay to move forward in the registration process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OnPay?

OnPay isn't trying to take advantage of me as a volunteer, small church treasurer. Once it was setup, there is really not much else that requires my attention. When I have had questions, the support staff are knowledgeable and patient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OnPay?

I'm struggling to think of something I dislike... the hardest part was the setup which was a breeze compared with the previous company we worked with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
