We are able to automate several manual tasks which has freed up our team to focus on more strategic initiatives. The down sides that we encounter lie within in the advanced inventory management. There is a need within our organization to exlude specific locations or customers settings from reorder point auto-calculate functions. I've been a user/admin/consultant/system architect for over 16 years. I love the flexibility to make this system your own. It can be small enough for a 50-employee corporation and large enough to handle a 50,000-employee corporation.

Integrate with ease and with redundancy built in; users can learn to navigate in the best way that works for them. I love how seamlessly everything flows—from transactions to customer management, all beautifully intertwined. The integration of CRM with accounting and reporting is exceptional. I use it every day, and it has become a pillar of my business. Implementation was a waste of both time and money for us, and their customer service left much to be desired—especially when you're paying so much for customer service and implementation that turn out to be a waste of money. We ended up having to hire a third party to outsource the implementation process. Additionally, I wish features like Smart Counting were more affordable. These tools should be accessible to customers who pay on time and rely on specific suites for their operations, specially if their customer service lack so much. The one thing that I wish NetSuite had was a summary inquiry that shows the balances for the entire FY like there is in Great Plains. It is so helpful in BS account reconciliations to be able to show the GL balances. Also, when I go to drill down on an entry from the financial statements I have found that sometimes when I'm expecting the JE to pop up a lot of the time my subsidiaries change. I do like that we are able to pull additional data and more in-depth financial statements as opposed to what we were able to get from Quickbooks. I have used a number of ERP and inventory management systems in the past with varying degrees of customization options and user friendliness. Usually the more customized, the easier or complicated it can be depending on the person doing the customizing. Netsuite has seemingly endless options to customize everything from aesthetics to functionality and as long as you're willing to do most of the learning on your own, pay for extended training or pay even more for a partner or consultant to help, it's a great program. Out of the box, barebones Netsuite will probably work for exactly nobody. You will need some levels of add on modules or scripted customization to fit your business needs, and the costs can add up very quickly. it would be nice if some of this is better explained up fron or the pricing was made more transparent, but the results in many ways speak for themselves. I like that Netsuite is fully integrated so there is no need for troubleshooting reconciling subledgers to the GL. I also like that Netsuite usually has links to help you navigate between linked records.

Getting the data you want out of Netsuite can be tricky. Reports and searches are easily modified, but there is not an easy way to figure out field names. Unlike relational database programs, there is not a key name for each field. Selecting "Name" returns different information depending on the record type and custom fields that are entered. Once you select the correct fields, the easiest way to whittle down the data is to dump it in excel and filter/sort from there. I am considered a "SuperUser" because I spend all day working in Netsuite forms, but as a functional user my saved searches are usually not a finished result straight from Netsuite Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

NetSuite is very customizable for companies with a diverse business. A full time admin and dev are able to continuously enhance the system to help our users gather the financial information they need for day to day business. It also integrates well with other external systems such as Salesforce, Avalara, and MuleSoft as well as custom built internal systems. There is a definite learning curve to use NetSuite. The UI is pretty basic and leaves a lot to be desired. The admin menus are overwhelming and make it hard to locate things. Using the global search is the key to navigating the system. Important to have a team constantly learning the system to serve as backups to keep the system running. NetSuite has significantly improved our efficiency by integrating all different processes and enabling our team to provide accurate information. Also, the ACS team has been really helpful everytime we need it. We are using NS currently to follow up projects, and it's really easy to implement and to use. The pricing module is pretty simple. Not a lot of flexibility with complex pricing. In some ways it is nice when tasks are locked down to certain roles and admins but it can also be a hinderince if you are trying to change something and you don't have the approval.
