Lots of training and reference materials. Constant improvements made. As a Social Impact client, the customer service and support they give my non-profit is top notch. Easy to learn and manage on a basic level. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The least favorite thing is the advanced analytics, saved searches, datasets, etc. Seems like only a computer programmer can figure it out. Even in the training sessions, there are so many tricks, codes, etc. for this portion, it is difficult to do. I have been to 3-4 training sessions on this, and is no closer to figuring it out than when I started. Also, lots of bugs in the non-profit reporting module of Net Suite. We started using Net.Suite after outgrowing QuickBooks. I really enjoy that Net.Suite is web-based as I can access it from any computer with my log-in credentials. This is helpful when I do not have my desktop available. We had to change to Net.Suite in the middle of the school year, which was not ideal, but Net.Suite met our timeframe. The integration and implementation process was quick. We did not have to do much work as our representative handled most of that area. Once familiarized with Net.Suite's features, it became easier to use. We use Net.Suite on a daily basis as it is the main source of our work in the accounting department. When assistance is needed, the customer support team has been very helpful. They respond promptly - which in my opinion, is extremely important. Our questions have been answered thoroughly. It would be great if the statements were customizable by date and more detailed for families who need them for tax purposes. Also when a primary email is changed, it would be nice if the email address automatically updated for memorized invoices. It would also be helpful if we could send invoices to more than one email address. I would like a better search functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
NetSuite is great at keeping business information and workflows organized for non-technical users.
Not to mention, the level of flexibility available to us to customize the interface, integrate APIs, and interact with 3rd party applications allows us to keep over 80% of our business localized to NetSuite.
Which is incredible! As, a company we rarely have to leave the NetSuite site to do most of our work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
However, while NetSuite is incredibly easy to use and integrate niche business requirements with, it's not always a straightforward path to get there.
When we start a new development project we are sometimes left ping-ponging between wanting to keep the project within the NetSuite environment and building a new website to have more control.
"How can we keep this on NetSuite instead of building a new website", is the question we ask 9 times out of 10.
NetSuite does not support access to things like the browser's DOM, nor can we add custom HTML/CSS/JS to anything beyond an inline HTML field. - There was a time where I built a whole form, complete with tables, image uploads, radio buttons, text fields, etc. ALL within a singular InlineHTML form field. This is not a NetSuite supported interaction, and required quite a few workaround "hacks" with Ajax and jQuery to be able to gather information from the html field and send it back to NetSuite to record the data in a record.
Another project, we needed to build a NetSuite "assistant"-like page that would pull data from different records and then display cabinets that met the criteria selected. This was a primarily front end facing project to show to customers. Naturally, it would be easier to keep this project within NetSuite given that is where the data is. But because we did not want to recreate the mess that was the previous project mentioned, we opted to build a new website complete with it's database to prevent querying the NetSuite DB too often which could be unreliable and slow. However, now we have a new website that sales staff need to constantly be on and we need to maintain it as well.
Perhaps if there were a new script type, call it an HTMLlet or a ReactLet, that allowed interaction with the webpage more freely and could receive and send data to and from NetSuite natively we could use NetSuite as a standalone application builder.
Additionally, one thing I would truly love and would make my role 1000% easier is if there were more tooling available to us! An official VS Code extension to have a SuiteScript 1.0 and 2.x/2.1 linter would make a world of difference in preventing bugs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think NetSuite is a great tool for businesses to use for a multitude of different things. From Inventory Management to Accounts receivable this site allows us to somewhat easily manage and track a variety of statistical information about our company, inventory, and accounts. I think NetSuite could improve in the User Friend-liness area. There are a lot of different areas available to the consumer in a very tight/compact area which can make it difficult to find certain things when searching for them. Another way I think they could improve is by allowing searches by "containing some" instead of always looking for an exact match, for example, when entering PO items into a Inbound Shipment and searching for the PO, we have to type out "PO#POBER01234" instead of being able to type POBER01234 or just 01234 which would help streamline the process of creating Inbound Shipments. As a Warehouse Supervisor and WMS user, I appreciate that NetSuite provides real-time inventory tracking, order management, and seamless integration with other departments. The ability to scan and allocate inventory makes warehouse operations more efficient, and the system helps maintain accurate stock levels. The customizable dashboards and reporting features also allow us to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While NetSuite is powerful, the WMS interface can be slow and not always intuitive, especially for warehouse tasks like wave picking, order allocation, and item reallocation. Some manual workarounds are needed to correct errors, and the system does not always commit inventory properly. Additionally, customization options can be complex and require IT support, making simple adjustments more time-consuming than necessary. Improved mobile functionality and a more user-friendly WMS workflow would greatly enhance efficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
NetSuite is an incredibly powerful ERP system, and one of its biggest strengths is its customizability. The ability to create custom records, workflows, and SuiteScripts allows for deep personalization to fit unique business needs. This flexibility makes it an excellent tool for companies that require tailored solutions beyond out-of-the-box functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
However, NetSuite has its downsides. The interface feels outdated, and navigating through the system can be clunky and unintuitive. Additionally, creating saved searches is more time-consuming than it should be—while they are powerful, the process is tedious, and the UI could use some improvements to make building reports and extracting data more efficient. The system has so many functions available, the reports are amazing and we have only yet begun to discover all that is out there. When I need assistance, I am able to create a case online and I typically get a response within a day to help me resolve my issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This system is too expansive for our company, it has been difficult to see all that is out there. We used QuickBooks in the past and that was very user friendly. There is always a learning curve with software changes but this one is especially large. SuiteAnswers is helpful about half of the time and then I need to create a case for online support.
I don't like that there is so much customization in everything and I need assistance as I do not understand "code". Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the reporting functions and in NetSuite, the customization for data reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I do not like that there is not an easy way to automaitcally make adjustments on small balances across multiple customers. This may be something in a version my company does not use but I also feel like some functions should be available "out of the box" instead of having to buy the apps. We needed a system that would adapt to our evolving needs. NetSuite's customizations have a been a game - changer. This flexibility has been crucial to our Company. NetSuite provides real-time dashboards and reporting that improves accuracy and speed, allowing us to make more informed decisions. We are able to automate several manual tasks which has freed up our team to focus on more strategic initiatives. Training users can be done with ease, the processes are outlined thoughtfully based on the task at hand. This eliminates errors and confusion for users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The down sides that we encounter lie within in the advanced inventory management. There is a need within our organization to exlude specific locations or customers settings from reorder point auto-calculate functions. We are very location specific and would like more options available regarding inventory management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've been a user/admin/consultant/system architect for over 16 years. I love the flexibility to make this system your own. It can be small enough for a 50-employee corporation and large enough to handle a 50,000-employee corporation.
Integrate with ease and with redundancy built in; users can learn to navigate in the best way that works for them. When you can't find a system that works for your unique corporate needs, create one with NetSuite. Custom forms, records, segments, etc... This system is nimble and robust all in one! Finding the right implementation partner is important. I think many times the software gets a bad rep because the implementation team didn't find out enough about the company and just provided a straight out of the box instance of Netsuite. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Netsuite is very stable and very capable. The multi-tenant SAAS platform is generally a great model and Netsuite nails it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Further development of already released features is almost nil. It is evident to me that Netsuite development dollars are dedicated to new features that they can upsell to existing customers. The cost of this is that whatever problems do exist are not addressed in a timely manner and very simple problems languish for years. For example, "fixed lot size" is only honored when purchasing for an MRP-managed item but not for work orders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
