Neon CRM stands out with its comprehensive approach to nonprofit operations, providing an out-of-the-box solution that covers nearly every aspect needed for efficient management. What makes it even more exceptional is its customizability—it's the most adaptable CRM I've worked with, having experience with various systems including Salesforce, HubSpot, Crelate, Virtuous, Bullhorn, and JobDiva. Beyond the superior product, Neon CRM offers outstanding training, a wealth of content, innovative ideas, and robust support. They also impress with frequent updates, continuously enhancing user experience and functionality. They're truly excelling in their field. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As with any technology product, Neon CRM occasionally experiences errors or issues. However, their support team is highly responsive and efficient in resolving problems quickly. Although these minor glitches exist, the prompt and effective support ensures they are nothing more than brief inconveniences. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the ease of use and speed with which it pulls information out of the database. It's easy to write reports, handle accounts and donations, and I love the duplicate account management capabilities. We coupled with with the Windfall integration to get wealth management information for our donors and the marriage of the two has led to some great insights and fundraising strategies and segmentation.
The Neon Academy seems very thorough and we've used it a lot. The onboarding process was simple and very professional, including importing data from our previous donor management solution.
The interface with Quickbooks Online seems to work flawlessly.
Neon Pay integration was simple and works great, processing online donations for us.
Perhaps the best thing is the reporting. It's easy to create reports - quite unlike our old donor management system!!! It's fun and fast to create those reports and then it's easy to share them.
The built in commuications (email, campaigns, etc.) are great, even the ability to send external email messages to the donor record. The timeline of activities is really useful for our fundraising team so they can see where they left off and what their next steps should be.
We're not using the workflows a lot yet, but they seem to work great. I expect we'll be using them a lot more in the future.
We use it CONSTANTLY every day, and there are even more features we'll start using like volunteer management, events, grant management and pledge/payment tracking.
I highly recommend Neon CRM!!!!! I only wish we'd had it for years. We just went live with it in January 2024. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The one thing that SOMETIMES takes longer than it should is responses from their customer service/support team. The information they give is excellent, but it's not always the fastest response time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Neon CRM works well with our organization because it integrates with Arts People. We were using Arts People and liked the ease of use and information gathering it did when our patrons used it. So it was natural when we started looking at CRM solutions to look first at Neon CRM. The Neon CRM staff was a great help in transferring the data we had from our previous CRM into Neon CRM, and we were up and running within 2 weeks of the implementation, which was great because we had a big fundraiser that we needed the CRM for within that month. I use Neon daily to help with getting info on our patrons and donors to help us with advertising, appeals, and general information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Right now, my only dislike is the backlog in one-on-one training. I understand that Neon is working on getting more trainers and time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra adopted Neon CRM when we learned of the Arts People integration. We had been using AP as our CRM, and it wasn't getting us the data we needed. As a performing arts organization, we are both retail (Arts People) and fundraiser (CRM), so it's great to see our retail work going into the fundraising work. As a result, we've had successful fundraising campaigns that are based on new and ongoing patrons.
For small fundraisers, we've started using CRM's event/ticketing functions. Arts People is necessary for large-scale, ticketed events. But CRM's smaller event functions are perfect for our fundraisers.
Finally, as a CRM, we love the general functionality, from keeping an eye on campaigns, to building recurring donations, to developing paid memberships (something we innovated separately from our season subscriptions). It was very easy, by the way, to migrate AP date to CRM--and the migrations are happening nightly, so we're always up to date. If you are using Arts People, you need to be using Neon CRM. I only with that Arts People functioned as slickly as CRM. I don't have any criticisms of Neon CRM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Neon learning and upport from the team is invaluable. If you have the capacity to get training support, I would highly recommend it as it has helped us immensely with setting up and getting started using Neon CRM.
The interface and platform are also intuitive and easy to use. The team at Neon are always making improvements, and are dedicated to making the CRM work for many non profits. It has huge functionality, especially for volunteering, membership support and donor and fundraising support.
The staff are supportive and I would recommend doing some training with the training staff, they were very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the downsides we have come across is that the email audiences will only use the first email associated with an account, so you cannot distinguish between work emails and personal emails when trying to target certain groups.
It would be great to get Neon Pay working fully for Canadian clients as well! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love how all connect to the members in the database! The ease of sending emails, letters, and inputting donations is extremely helpful. We use NEON every day for all of our development needs. It was extremely easy to implement and integrate into our everyday use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We are still working to ensure all transactions are synced with QB, that has been the biggest issue we have had. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Neon Inspire website-building software is easy to use; membership database is robust; ability to set up event registrations is pretty simple, easy to create system transaction emails Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Inspire website-building tools are restricted, can't easily add plug-ins, product improvements (which are great) come and that requires refamiliarizing myself with the products. Volunteers are intimidated by the believed complexity of the database and its abilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like best about Neon is that once you understand in general how it works, other, more complicated configurations are easier to figure out. There are many, many features and it is great to be able to build and create them as you grow and develop as a business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are a few areas of Neon that are fundamentally challenging that I wish would be changed sooner than later. For instance, when using the quick add feature to create an account, it would be great if that was customizable. I realize it is probably set up this way so that it doesn't get complicated but there are a few key data points that we'd love to capture right then and there. It is a nice and clean way to have all of your customers in one database. It gives a LOT of different reports and options to customize them and narrow them down. It gives the option to add notes about each customer, mark them as desceased, connect households, and mark relationships.
It gives the option to set a donation amount to trigger a donor letter. We have ours set up where donations under a certian amount only get an email, but any donation above that gets an email instantly and gets set in the cue to also get a letter. I created a workflow to remind me to print letters once a month.
I use it almost every day, and am still finding new ways for Neon CRM to help make customer management even easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the most disappointing things I have encountered with Neon CRM is that I have messaged their customer support several times in my year of having it, and their response time has been quite slow, sometimes I have had to send another message a week later to get a response.
Another disappointing this was the implementation process, I had meetings with someone who onboarded me, and she did not know the answers to a lot of the questions I had, and I felt like I didn't get enough help in learning how to do a lot of reports or setting parameters for the donor letters. I am enjoying all of the updates that Neon CRM is making to their platform for easier use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I hope they add a "sponsorship" section to the platform. That is heavily utilized by our organization and would make many things easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
