I constantly use Microsoft Power Apps to build tools and utilities for certain processes at work. What I like the most is that it is a low-code/no-code platform, available for citizen developers and business service employees to build whatever they require in a simple way without needing to be pro-coders. It's easy to connect to various systems through connectors, and the nature of deployment is simple to enable. It's great for migrating activities and processes that use Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, and other Microsoft products to more automated processes. What I do not like, is the lack of certain connectors, or paid connectors. Lack of connectors is a problem per se, but you can always find certain work-arounds. Now, with the paid connectors, well... that's just a me problem, as at the workplace, we cannot use any type of connector, and it needs to be fully reviewed and go through a whole process, to check if we should be allowed or not. It took a bit of time to learn it, as I didn't take any "standard" trainings, rather I watched developers on YouTube, read on various forums, even on the Microsoft forum on "how to do" certain things, that were not very clear to me. It's also tightly wired to 365, which is great as we can use the same groups, user permissions, and approval processes we already have set up in the tenant. I mostly use the Canvas app in Microsoft Power Apps, and I find it really easy to create new applications. It's straightforward to connect to SharePoint sites and load or save data. The grab and drop-down functions make it simple to start working with it. The new Copilot features are quite nice, especially when I don't know how to proceed with queries. It allows me to just ask how to use a visual or define the inquiry behind it. The platform is quite useful because you don’t have to know a lot about programming. When I tried to connect Microsoft Power Apps to a solution and started to use model-driven apps, I think it would be great if there were Copilot access in the model driven version as well. When queries are not fully delegable, Power Apps only retrieves a limited number of records by default, typically 500. This can result in slower performance and incomplete results when working with larger data sources. Another area that could be improved is providing more built-in guidance around delegation warnings. While the editor does show indicators when certain formulas are non-delegable, understanding how to structure logic or break down complex filters into delegable steps can still be difficult for new users.
