## Microsoft Power Apps Reviews
  ### 1. Power Apps, work needed but a great start

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Power Apps?**

Being browser-based, allows me to develop solutions on any platform of my choosing, whether it be Windows, Linux or OSX

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Power Apps?**

While being a platform-independent solution is a boon, the always-online nature of development makes it difficult in situations where a non-reliable internet connection is being experienced

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Power Apps:**

Ensure your internet connection is, for lack of a better word, good. Having a spotty connection can make the service a pain. However, its fast development time along with its cloud-based service makes it a great platform for anyone looking to develop their own application for use either at home, school, or work.

**What problems is Microsoft Power Apps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems being addressed with Power Apps:
1. CSR interface for both customers and staff
2. Digitization of both forms and processes tied to those forms
3. Quick and easy online portals for staff feedback

The main benefits of Power Apps would be:
1. low code, so anyone with a little time can quickly start developing
2. Platform independent, so a user's personal OS choice is no longer an issue
3. Cloud-based, allowing work from anywhere at anytime

  ### 2. Excellent low-code solution for everyone

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Power Apps?**

Simple to use, with minimal training. Just about anyone with average computer knowledge can create functional apps and it integrates seamlessly with other M365 services. To spite it's simplicity, it can be surprisingly powerful as well as you can do quite a bit of custom actions with it if you want to roll your sleeves up more than what the simple drag, drop, and click options provide.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Power Apps?**

Visualization of the apps is not super refined. It doesn't have a modern custom-app type of look... you can generally tell when something is created in Power Apps. Also, when integrating a Power App with some other M365 services, it can be easy to not provide the right privileges to someone to use the app as the permissions are not always handled within a single place.

**What problems is Microsoft Power Apps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a very fast way to create visual GUI interfaces to perform actions. I use it for internal needs only, because I don't love the appearance of the app as far as being something we would give to customers, but for internal use it is fantastic.

  ### 3. Microsoft Power Apps is an easy-to-use low-code tool for business apps.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kenny G. | Data analytics, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Power Apps?**

What I love about Microsoft Power Apps is how smoothly it works with the whole Microsoft ecosystem. You don’t need to be a coding expert to build and automate business apps—it’s super accessible. The low-code interface makes development easy, and Power Automate takes workflows to the next level.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Power Apps?**

Microsoft Power Apps is great, but it can get pretty complex for advanced applications. You’ll often need Power Automate or some coding know-how to make things work. Performance can be hit-or-miss with large datasets, and the licensing costs can stack up fast, which isn’t ideal for every budget.

**What problems is Microsoft Power Apps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Power Apps makes it way easier to build custom business apps without needing a ton of coding. It simplifies workflow automation, improves data management, and works perfectly with Microsoft tools like SharePoint and Teams. For me, that means less time spent on manual tasks and more efficient processes overall.

  ### 4. Build with ease, ship fast

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darhlilove B. | Student Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Power Apps?**

Power Apps makes is so easy to build applications that solve problems with little or no coding experience. This democratizes software development and provides the tools for absolutely anyone to develop solutions that address their needs.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Power Apps?**

Creating complex applications or dealing with specific integrations often requires a deeper understanding of formulas and data structures, which can be challenging for beginners

**What problems is Microsoft Power Apps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Power Apps make it easy for me to prototype solutions that address client challenges and present it to them during proposals or demos. This takes the abstraction layer off and allows the client to see the real value in the solution being proposed

  ### 5. Great App and User Friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sara C. | Data Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Power Apps?**

Power Apps makes it insanely easy for non-developers (aka "citizen developers") to build custom apps fast—without needing to know hardcore coding. You can drag and drop elements, connect to your data (like SharePoint, Excel, Dataverse, etc.), and publish apps in hours instead of weeks.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Power Apps?**

One drawback I’ve encountered is the licensing model. While Power Apps is a powerful tool, it’s not included for free, and unfortunately, users also need a premium license to fully experience the app. With budget constraints affecting many organizations, adding extra license costs across the company can be challenging and, at times, not feasible. It would be incredibly valuable if Power Apps—especially core features—were more deeply integrated into the existing Microsoft 365 ecosystem without requiring additional fees.

**What problems is Microsoft Power Apps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

user friendly option in a sharepoint site

  ### 8. Simple and Useful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandi S. | English Instructor , Higher Education, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Power Apps?**

I love being able to create customized apps for what I need with minimum coding requirements.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Power Apps?**

Sometimes, PowerApps is a bit stuck in its ways and won't allow me to do some things I would find useful. That could also be user error, though, as I am by no means an expert.

**What problems is Microsoft Power Apps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rather than searching for paid products that may or may not meet all of my needs, I am able to use PowerApps to develop applications on my own to suit a variety of needs within my organization. This saves time, money, and frustration for both myself and end users.

  ### 11. All MS 365 users should check this out

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott W. | Marketing Automation Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Power Apps?**

Use case for a wide variety of custom projects where you do not need to pay for another tool since this comes with Microsoft 365.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Power Apps?**

Slight learning curve at first. Resources may be limited based on what you are making. Be sure to thoroughly test before deploying.

**What problems is Microsoft Power Apps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed an access tool for our field reps where they could enter customer data. Third party tools cost average several thousands each year. The custom app we built with MS Power App eliminated this cost and providing better data flow since we were already using several other MS 365 products (Excel and Sharepoint).

  ### 12. Work smarter, not harder

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Power Apps?**

Microsoft Power Apps is free for most Microsoft users and because it forms part of the Microsoft platform, it natively integrates with pretty much everything. Because it is so widely used, there is also tons of documentation and community support for implementing specific use cases.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Power Apps?**

While Power Apps is useful for a lot of things, and it promises to be low-code/no-code, there is a massive learning curve to get specific use cases developed.

**What problems is Microsoft Power Apps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Power Apps is a great way to smooth out workflow and processes in a meaningful way. The ability to upload and manage SharePoint documents has sped up some of the more mundane and tedious tasks within our organization.

  ### 13. Super helpful for building internal tool without much hassle

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Power Apps?**

I like how easy it is to build apps without writing a lot of code. The interface is simple and very beginner-friendly, which makes it quick to prototype and deploy something functional. I also really like how smoothly it connects with other Microsoft tools like Excel, SharePoint, and Teams — that makes a huge difference when building internal tools.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Power Apps?**

It can be a bit limiting when you're trying to build something more advanced or highly customized. Sometimes I find myself switching over to Power Automate or needing extra connectors just to get things working the way I want. Also, the licensing plans could definitely be more straightforward — they get confusing fast.

**What problems is Microsoft Power Apps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Power Apps lets me build custom tools super fast—no need to be a coding expert. It’s perfect for turning boring spreadsheets or clunky processes into simple apps my team actually likes using.

For example, I’ve used it to:

Replace manual forms with apps that auto-save to SharePoint, so we stop losing data in email chains.

Automate approvals (like PTO requests) by linking Power Apps to Power Automate—cuts down on follow-up emails.

Pull live data from Excel or Teams into dashboards, so everyone’s working with the same numbers.

The best part? I can tweak things on the fly without waiting for IT. It’s not perfect for super complex stuff, but for day-to-day fixes, it’s a lifesaver.

  ### 14. Powerful, Flexible, and Easy-to-Use App Builder

It offers a wide range of features that cover both simple and complex business needs, and its seamless integration with Microsoft 365 and external data sources helps create powerful, connected solutions.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Power Apps?**

While it’s very capable, some advanced features can be challenging to configure, and certain customization options feel limited without workarounds. Performance can also slow down when working with large datasets or multiple integrations at once.

Additionally, the graphics have a tendency to be simpler in design, so thus quicker to learn as you go. The connectivity between apps and the ability to demo sandbox environments with internal teams is extremely productive.

Microsoft Power Apps works best when operating with the full microsoft suite - which can be costly. Additionally, the software is very unique, thus it requires its own certification process which can cause siloes in skills.
