This is a rock solid, enterprise level ERP system that has been a great fit for our medium sized company (450 million gross revenue, 4300 employees). We selected GP in 2005 and went live shortly after in 2nd quarter 2006. Like any ERP, there will be a learning curve - especially if you're coming from an ancient legacy system like we were. And like in any product selection, be sure to spend plenty of time in the development of your implementation plan. What I like best about GP is hard to single out - so I'll pick 3 things. First, I like how intuitive it can be to use. Accounting screens (GL, AP, AR, etc) are straight forward, feature rich, and easy to use. Second, I have also been very happy with their support. Third, there are literally hundreds of 3rd party "add-on" products to further enhance GP beyond the core functionality. In my experience, any ERP system that suggests it is the single turnkey solution for an organization isn't being honest (there are a few exceptions for this - some ERPs are specifically targeted at certain markets - like retail, restaurants, etc.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Like any product, there are downsides. However, many of the things I don't like are features / functions they never promised were there in the first place. For example, there is no way to deal with intercompany AR (without purchasing a 3rd party module) - a feature so critical to any multi-company organization that I'm really surprised it was never developed. Although their human tech support is fantastic, their CustomerSource database is very difficult to search / navigate. As an integrations specialist, I've enjoyed the straight-forward approach to a Business Process. I'm a daily user, both in front and back end. I've implemented everything a Small/Med Size business could need, and rarely depended on a service provider to make-sense of what I was doing. Migrating our previous systems to this platform would've been impossible without the Service Providers available for the product. Being a Microsoft product, the ecosystem of instant-connections like Power Automate, Power BI, and the extensible API within BC itself, have all made Business Central work with our business very effectively. I have been using D365 for past year and it has really surprised me with the kind of customization options it provides, and the way it seemlessly integrates with Teams and Outlook. Personalized dashboards, reporting, and as if that wasn't enough, copilot came to compliment all these.
