I want to say my favorite thing about Kandji is the simplicity and easy to navigate interface, but truthfully it is the great support techs and engineers that Kandji has. Though MDM can get frustrating due to limitations and minor nuiances that occur every now and then, but the support team and Kandji does a very good job at being informative and providing various forums to help your use case. Not only is the support team great to work work, but our company assigned CSM, Kaylee, has been amazing to work with as she has provided assistance for whatever my MDM needs required. Such as training from the bottom up, teaching best practices, collaborating with support engineers to get me the best possible answers, etc.
Another thing I love about Kandji is how easy the MDM profile gets integrated into devices purchased through Verizon. Once I receive and boot up the device, Kandji is already there ready to go. Only thing I need to check is if the device is using the correct blueprint or not, and if it is not, it is a quick and easy fix. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There aren't necesarilly any cons to Kandji, at least none that I have found, but just like every other MDM, they aren't perfect, but that is typically due to the device's manufacturer limitations.
Only other dislike is probably the learning curve. If you are like me and come into MDM softwares with little to no knowledge about mobile devices or platforms that help manage it, then you will most likely struggle like I did. If you already have that experience, using Kandji will be a breeze. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy to use and great connections with other tool and applications. Takes the hassle out of managing devices which can be a challenge in a fully remote global organisation. Policy administration is made easy with the built in templates. Enrolment of devices and users is simple. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ensuring the devices are kept within policy. This has to happen anyway and at least Kandji alerts you when something goes wrong with a device Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The whole process from the initial call to onboarding has been amazing and a huge thenkyou to the team. The platform is exactly what we needed in terms of fully mange our Mac estate, from deployment, to patching and asset tracking.
Its ease of use to setup, implement and integration is so well laid out, and the customer support elements are well delivered and easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ill be honest, i just cant fault it, the platform is everything we need Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've been a Kandji user for over few years now, and I must say, I'm genuinely impressed with its features and ease of use. We made the switch from JumpCloud, and Kandji has proven to be a far superior choice for our needs. The platform's intuitive design made policy implementation a breeze and ensured it was tailored to our organization's requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Having the ability to execute terminal commands remotely on specific devices directly from the device section would enhance the platform. This would streamline device management and troubleshooting without the need for additional steps or equipment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Compared to other "enterprise" Apple MDM solutions we had used in the past, the price was very affordable for our small business. The migration and onboarding from our old provider to Kandji was included in the price of the solution, and was incredibly easy to execute. The Account Executive, Customer Success Manager, and Principal Engineer were all very knowledgeable and helpful during the entire process. I am absolutely satisfied with their product offiering. I only wish that we could manage the few Microsoft Windows that we do have in our organization in 1 application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We evaluated multiple MDM solutions before deciding on Kandji and have been very happy with our choice. It's easy to set up and deploy the MDM agents, create blueprints to manage multiple environments, and see what's happening in our fleet in real time. The recent addition of the Prism reporting features has been a huge addition, fixing one of the few flaws Kandji had. Any time we've experienced issues, their customer support has been incredibly responsive and helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The biggest downside is the lack of useful logging. There are times where I'd like to see when and what happened, and Kandji is severely lacking in that area. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As a primarily Microsoft focused professional working for an organization that heavily uses Microsoft services and products, Kandji has been an invaluable tool to me to ease my concern about the security and compliance of our endpoint Mac devices. Kandji made it super easy to migrate our devices off of Intune and create policies that closely align to NIST and CIS frameworks - making it so engineers not very familiar with Mac architecture can build robust policies that keep our devices safe.
Kandji support is also fantastic, and whenever I need help I can get on a chat with a Kandji engineer in as little as 5 minutes. In my experience, they will also assist with Mac related questions even when Kandji does not have a solution for the particular problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only downside in my view is that it is difficult to manage devices in two places. This isn't necessarily a Kandji problem, but from an overhead perspective having two places to maintain inventory and reporting isn't ideal. However, Kandji's benefits far outweigh the negative aspects of using multiple MDM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ease of use, as we are an MSP for multiple customers this is crucial. The automatic updated on third party apps works great. Implementation is fast and the tenant is up and running very easily.
If you ever need customer support it is top notch with Kandji, the people in the support are responsive and professionals in using Kandji.
Kandji is extremely easy to integrate to other systems as Microsoft Entra for example. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would hope they'd bring multi tenant support for MSPs and that their licensing model would change to more flexible model. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Kandji MDM is an outstanding solution for mobile device management. Its powerful blueprints allow for seamless configuration and automation, ensuring consistency across all devices. The Assignment Maps feature simplifies device grouping and policy application, making management easy for teams of any size. What’s more, it’s incredibly easy to start using, even without any prior MDM experience. Overall, Kandji is user-friendly, efficient, and reliable, with features that greatly enhance device management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While Kandji MDM is a solid solution, there are a few areas that could use improvement. One of the biggest challenges is the lack of sufficient training materials. While the platform is intuitive, more in-depth resources would be helpful, especially for teams new to MDM. Specifically, there aren’t enough real-life examples or step-by-step guides on how to effectively set up new Assignment Maps. This can make the learning curve a bit steeper for users who aren’t familiar with device management systems.
Another feature that's noticeably missing is the ability to group libraries under blueprints. It would be incredibly useful to have more flexibility in organizing and managing device settings and applications in a more structured way within blueprints. Overall, while Kandji is powerful, these areas of improvement could help make the platform even more user-friendly and efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Kandji has been very easy to adapt and configure to meet our institutional needs. We went from a zero MDM enviornment to this with very useful implementation meetings from the Kandji team. We have been set for 2+ years now, and it has proven to be a low touch product in that we almost set it and forget it for periods of time. Customer support via chat has been wonderful as well. Most every question or issue we have had was able to be resolved within minutes as opposted to having to go down the ticketing path. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We have not found a great configuration setup as of now to manage our Mac computer labs with multi user devices. Kandji does not have anything right out of the box to help us configure that. Still a work in progress on our end, and not sure if any competators offer this or not to be honest. I am also not looking forward to moving all of my traditional "blueprints" to the new model they have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
