Hotjar is a powerful and user-friendly tool for website optimization and user behavior analysis, making it a great option for website owners looking to improve their website's performance and user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Offers a range of other features, such as surveys, feedback polls, and session recordings, which can help website owners gather valuable insights about their visitors' behavior and preferences. Nothing to dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is super easy to use and does exactly what you want it to. It shows click data and even scroll data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike that as a long time user it has not only became a lot more expensive but certain features that were part of cheaper packages is now on much more expensive plans. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is a versatile suite of tools included. Between heatmapping, session replay, and feedback surveys, and general surveys, HotJar can fill multiple gaps in your website's ongoing optimization strategy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I preferred when their session capture was manual instead of automatic and continuous, because there was less data sampling. HotJar is following the business and pricing model of other similar tools, which allows better for ongoing optimization, but makes the free version more and more useless by the day. Hotjar is for you if you have your own E-Commerce store. Installation is a breeze & Hotjar has a simple dashboard. You can see all your critical metrics like - Top pages on your website, total sessions, average session duration, bounce rate, graphs for rage clicks & u-turns, top countries, devices and operating systems that your website has been getting responses from. You can view your users' session recordings and analyze heatmaps to know which elements have been getting the most clicks, rage clicks or dead clicks. All this is done (session recording, heatmaps) while keeping privacy policies in mind. It will analyze the behavior of your traffic using these different tools and give you unique and meaningful insights as to what the audience wants. You can then make necessary changes that will increase your conversion rates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If you have a big eCommerce business with thousands of visitors a day, you will have to buy one of their business plans which will record a huge number of daily sessions. These business plans can go upwards of $1000/month & are quite expensive compared to some of their alternatives like HumCommerce or Kissmetrics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best part of Hotjar is its ability to provide valuable insights into user behavior and website performance.
I really like visitors' session recordings. They are fun to watch and understand the user journey and behavior. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Hotjar's integration options with other marketing and analytics tools are limited, which sometimes makes it difficult to use in conjunction with other platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Hotjar is easy to deploy and the features like screen recording,Heat map allow us to see the patern of user on over website and help us to improve and optimize our website. We found how much time user stay on each page and in which section and then we optimize it for better user experience. We generally use the screen recording and its work perfectly fine for us. No dislike about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Session recording is awesome and gives great insight into where your customers are struggling with visibility of u turns and rage clicks. It is really easy to implement, set and fine tune. The only other competitor product I have used is lucky orange and that was horrible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike the new pricing model and the separation of the various analytics across observe, ask etc. They are all important for product analytics. It would have been much better to keep an option for bundled deals. I am currently reviewing options at my new company and considering not implementing hotjar due the change in their pricing model. I like the easiness of the dashboard and the tools you can use to track your website UX: the heatmaps, the recordings and funnels analysis.
Surveys and the feedback module are also very useful to test your website UX Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't dislike anything in particular. I would have appreciated to take advantage of a longer trial period in order to test better the tool Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Recently we implemented on our landing page to track user activity and Hotjar provided us great results to optimize our LP and campaigns further. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
All neat and clean, not found any dropping point till now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the fact that hotjar gives me clear visual data points about what's happening when my users are on my website. I also like the heatmaps that they have which helps me analyse which parts of the screen are my users going to the most. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing I don't like about Hotjar is when I was using this tool between 2018-2021, they didn't offer user sessions recordings for mobile apps. Since my product offering was omnichannel and even the users would transition/keep traversing between the website and the app, it was hard to follow the whole journey which made it very difficult to get all the user data at a single place.
