Grafana is very useful for visualizing and analyze vast quantities of data from a simple web interface. Also, it allows to view data in real time with Grafana Live, feature that we use a lot to debug problems in our systems.
It supports many types of data sources, but I think it’s best used with InfluxDB. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It does not allow you to customize the list of predefined time periods. So every time you need to see a specific interval, you need to input the period of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The visualisation of dashboards on a large screen allows us to have a clear indication of issues and problems. The frequency of use is daily for us and it's important to have integration with all of our systems Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is a steep learning curve, not just the product but all of the different connections that it supports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Grafana comes with very rich visualisations from different data sources which makes it easier for you to understand health metrics of your system even if you variety of data sources. With grafana labs you can easily send alerts if your set threshhold is breached to different channels like slack, or mail or may be more, that helps you in quick anamoly detection and quick action for the resolution. Grafana is hard to setup, most of the tims for complex systems UI don't offer good support and need commad line text editing and there is a huge limitations for log analysis and which is not a very good option. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We're using Grafana for real-time monitoring metrics, alerting, and logging. For monitoring, we've integrated it with Prometheus, and for logging, we've integrated it with Loki and Promtail. Apart from this, we're looking to explore it as an APM at the moment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Difficult to create a custom dashboard.
Better UI is needed for Loki logs. Real-time logs are still a challenge.
Different data sources cannot be used in the same graph at the same time, causing a visual comparison of the data to be difficult. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

You are somewhat bound by the connectors provided and the completeness of their implementation. But this was not a serious problem for my implementation. Be that you know how to use your chosen connector. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I'm most impressed with how Grafana allows us to visualize and understand complex relationships between data that were previously difficult to see. The detailed analytics generated by the platform allow us to anticipate our needs for an optimal user experience, such as monitoring server performance levels or tracking temperature and humidity in a data center environment. By using these graphical representations of information, we can easily determine appropriate action plans to ensure the successful operation of any application landscape. I dislike that Grafana's edit mode is inferior to its query mode, making it difficult for users unfamiliar with SQL to modify databases and graphs. A necessary improvement would be a more user-friendly editing interface so that non-expert users can make their own changes without having to ask someone else for help in writing the necessary query.
