Top Rated Grafana Labs Alternatives
The concept behind Grafana’s platform is promising—visually appealing dashboards, broad integrations, and the possibility to monitor metrics all in one place.
However, our overall experience turned out to be very disappointing.
Despite only testing Grafana Cloud’s Prometheus service for a short time—and encountering immediate limits that prevented any real functionality—we were billed thousands of dollars with no clear explanation or help.
Attempts to resolve the issue were met with minimal cooperation and opaque justifications that left us feeling let down rather than supported. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Our company’s experience with Grafana Labs has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. We briefly tested Grafana Cloud’s Prometheus service—at most for an hour—and encountered immediate technical limits (remote write cap and rate limits). Despite those limits preventing a successful setup, Grafana still billed us thousands of dollars (over $4,000) for alleged “usage” we can’t verify.
When we requested a detailed breakdown (such as which metrics or IP addresses were involved), Grafana’s support team could only repeat that they saw a large volume of data hitting their cloud, insisting it was our fault without giving concrete evidence.
Their attempts at resolution were minimal at best—offering small partial refunds on a huge invoice—and pointedly ignored our contention that the usage data they claimed to have seen was inconsistent with our actual test.
Even after explaining that we never got the service fully working and canceled in fear of racking up more charges, Grafana was unwilling to provide a fair or transparent resolution.
If you’re looking for a cloud solution that stands behind clear pricing, customer-friendly policies, and helpful support, our experience shows Grafana Labs doesn’t meet those standards.
We ended up paying an unjustifiably high bill for a failed test and received almost no cooperation in understanding or rectifying the situation.
It felt like a money grab rather than genuine customer support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We are using Grafana to build visualizations for many types of data on our systems. The basic usage is of course DevOps DevOps-related graphs and visuals, but we are also using it to display line of business data dashboards. Grafana is easy to set up, easy to use, and produces high-quality graphs and dashboards. Its ability to connect to multiple data sources is an important feature, as well as the ability to extend it using external plug-ins. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I find less appealing is the pricing of the enterprise version and the fact that some important plugins are only available on the enterprise or cloud versions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The query builder and visualization features are outstanding. We can quickly implement and configure dashboards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
GUI can sometimes feel clumsy, with many windows and panels, making it difficult to scroll and navigate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We do not have to go in every node and check logs separetely. This tool organises the logs in such a great manner and also provides filters to apply. we can switch from different nodes to one another. I am a new user but it didnt take time for me to learn and use this tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The notification tool, you can link with slack :D, that's useful if we reconigze the errors in our projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No docs in spanish :c something when you are setting the dashboards should be good have more docs about it or docs about to implement Grafana with languages like JS, I know grafana use influxdb to save the data, but examples of that would be great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It was a bit confusing at the begining since I worked with local CSV as database, but I evantually was able to integrate it into my project after I got some answers from customer suport. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

1. Supports different data sources like Prometheus, MySQL, InfluxDB etc.
2. Zoom in, zoom out and date range filtering applies to all the panels present in the dashboard, which helps in comparative analysis.
3. Different types of graphs like Gauge chart, Pi chart, Bar chart, line chart etc with interactive user interface is very useful.
4. Interpreting huge amount of data on garphs is made easy with different colours and tool tips. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Integrating with data sources that involves configuring data sources and connectors can be complex and time-consuming for non-technical person. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Grafana is very useful for visualizing and analyze vast quantities of data from a simple web interface. Also, it allows to view data in real time with Grafana Live, feature that we use a lot to debug problems in our systems.
It supports many types of data sources, but I think it’s best used with InfluxDB. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It does not allow you to customize the list of predefined time periods. So every time you need to see a specific interval, you need to input the period of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
