What do you like best about Freemius?

Everything about it. It makes my life easier to do business as a solopreneur more than I could imagine - from the neat dashboard that allows configuration via GUI to their easy SDK integration, 1-click management of pricing, users, licenses, and much more.

Also, besides an intuitive and modern checkout system, they also totally take care of the taxes, invoicing, and more, plus transactional emails, user accounts, etc.

It's everything that one could hope for when choosing an e-commerce and licensing partner for their WordPress business. It gives me freedom to not have to worry about licensing and e-commerce at all and focus on developing my product and serving the customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Freemius?

Their integration SDK size. Though, there are technical reasons for it being that large and is justifiable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The simplicity of setting up plugins and themes, the deployments and handling of licensing is A++ Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Freemius?

I think the signup and management process for the end user is a bit clunky. I run into issues with folks not understanding how to activate their plugin. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Freemius?

I can see who my customers are and I can see all the free users of our plugin who have downloaded the free version that has the Freemius SDK. This is very helpful so we can reach out to those users to convert from free to PRO. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Freemius?

We weren't sure about how to release our plugin on Freemius. It wasn't clear if release as an add-on to the free version and we ended up working it out. But now we have a split between our initial customers using one method and our new customers using another. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Freemius?

Freemius is a complete package that will help you to host your premium plugin and secure it from unauthorized use. You don't have to worry at all when freemius is with you. No tension for server down, customer info missing and so on. Everything become much smoother when I integrated my plugins with freemius. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Freemius?

I wish they had their own marketing platform, that would be more helpful for small entrepreneurs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Freemius?

Freemius simplifies selling of WordPress plugins

It takes care of local taxes / VAT etc which can be very complex in Europe

It has a feature rich SDK

It enables the easy creation of a wordpress.org compliant code without having to have separate code lines for premium or using add-ons

Support is solid and responsive

The platform is reliable

The platform continues to be enhanced, listening to producers' needs

Really easy to get started with Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Freemius?

One issue is there is a general set of 'haters' in the Open Source community that think Freemius is evil. This needs to be worked on.

The economics of the platform charges work well for small to medium producers but as the revenues grow there are no further tiers so there is a point where a self-managed solution, e.g. via EDD becomes something to think about. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Freemius is the best tool for tracking my WordPress themes use and allows me to monetize it.

Also are recommended if you want to send your themes to WordPress.org Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Freemius?

Nothing to say here, because I found a helpful software with Freemius, maybe the customer support can be better, but in any case, they reply to the tickets in a few hours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Freemius?

I like the fact that this platform allows you to sell digital products subscriptions under different plans. Automatically separate free and paid versions when you deploy the code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Freemius?

1. The fact that 7% of fees they charge is on top of Payment gateway fees. So you end up paying a lot more than advertised.

2. Even basic reports are missing. Such as being able to see monthly revenue statistics in a specific period.

3. You are not able to customize emails. Forget about sending custom email campaigns to users.

4. Over branding everywhere. They stick their logos at every step of the journey - in a way this is intrusive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
