Expensify was expensive per user per month, did very little automation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
They decided to use my personal information to send me an email to tell me how I should vote in the 2016 election. I didn't sign up with Expensify to be told how to vote, but they chose to violate my trust by spaming me at my business email address with political messaging about democracy. I don't care if I agree or disagree with your messaging, it has no place in a business setting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It was very easy to create reports, with most of the process being automated. Expensify captures details from your uploaded files and fills most of the necessary imformations like vendor names or various numbers. It saves the manual efforts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Expensify a few times duplicated transactions in the reports I submitted, and I had to delete it manually. Also, there is no option to edit past mistakes in the reports once they are submitted. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The UI is intuituve, the system is always available and seems to have 0 downtime. I'm able to quickly list off a large number of expenses at once and transmit them over for review without any issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've yet to find any glaring issues with Expensify. The only critique I could think of is when entering an expense, I often would like the report to be automatically created and sent for approval from the expense window. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Of all the budgeting applications I have used, Expensify is the most user-focused one: it's extremely easy to introduce users who are not familiar with budgeting software or expense reporting to the app. Expensify very much does exactly what it claims to do - simplifies expense reporting, while allowing you to get the job done quickly while on the go and in real-time.
The best feature for me is that the app automatically transcribes receipt details with the date, merchant, and amount. When connected to apps like Uber, Lyft, and HotelTonight the receipts get automatically imported and transcribed.
It's great that you can split expenses by using the ExpensePoint feature to split the cost and the app syncs with your bank account and cards. You can track spending by different categories.
