I really find the BOM system in Kinetic to be very good. I appreciate the system's flexibility, especially important for us as a manufacturer with various ways to produce goods. Additionally, I like the ability to customize the UI and set business rules through BPMs, which adds to its effectiveness and utility. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Kinetic has undergone some major changes over the recent years, like retiring the Classic UI and planning to retire On Premise by 2028 to be cloud-only. This presents migration challenges for existing customers. I wish they would reverse the decision to go cloud-only since some of us prefer to be on premise. There are some cool features- having the Activity access available in the Entry screens…one stop shop. It took me a bit, but I like the side pane instead of the layer of tabs in Classic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

My opinion is Epicor might not be ready to enforce everyone onto Kinetic cloud.

Our team wonders sometimes if our customizations make things not seem to work, but it seems Epicor is sometimes to blame, also.

We can be actively working in Epicor, haven’t stepped away, and get the Lifetime Token error.

I hate when users complain about “more clicks”, but there really does seem to be more clicks.

We aren’t a company that runs production so we have to customize some things for our engineer to order company, and have great developers, but it seems to not be as easy to use as Classic.

One of my favorite things is the support provided by the Epicor Support team. There is also the customizability provided through things like BPMs, BAQs, and the Application Studio. We haven't used it as much as I'd like to, but the Learning Center seems very useful for teaching new implementations, as well as general tips and tricks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are some things that feel unnecessarily limited by Kinetic, whether through transactions or administration. There are a few issues I've faced that can ONLY be solved by Epicor Support, which over time feels like a bit of a hassle, to have to go through them instead of solving it ourselves as a company. We have had some awesome Epicor consultants. The challenge is that everyone at Epicor seems to work in silos. They don't seem to even be able to answer simple questions outside their silo. Also, I have to design a custom interface for my company and I'm having technical challenges that are even puzzling my consultants. Kinetic ERP continues to assist us with business challenges as we grow our business. The web UI has been a great improvement in both accessibility and performance. One challenge we have with Kinetic is the amount of time and expense required to provide quality, accurate reporting. There are many tools available to us including BAQs, Dashboards, PowerBI integration, etc. However, knowing which tables/fields to use to develop accurate reporting can be challenging.

I wish that Kinetic came with more out-of-box tools that simply the task of creating baseline reporting. Even tools like Grow and EDD require a significant amount of set-up to get to baseline reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Epicor Kinetic is a very versatile ERP software that allows the user to create fields, to query the database and display information on customizable dashboards. Kinetic is able to be configured to the particular needs of any company, regardless of the business. Most other software systems do not offer the flexibility of Kinetic. Out of the box, the Kinetic user interface isn't as user friendly for people that need to update or review a lot of data as part of their daily functions. There is a lot of empty space without a lot of data. A more compact view with more data visibility would be better in my opinion. Having to go through options listed on the side of the window can be annoying. However, Epicor does allow customers to create dashboards and tailor the system to better fit specific needs. I love the knowledgeable community that's grown up around the product and the great investments Epicor makes to make the product better.

The screen security setup leaves a lot to be desired and doesn't align well with role-based security.

Out of the box, audit logs must be turned on for almost everything, making it difficult to analyze root causes and/or offer re-training when something goes wrong with a record.

On the subject of audit, there is currently no logging of deletions that I know of. In most Quality Management Systems, this is anathema. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love that I can access Kinetic (cloud) from anywhere.

It also has outstanding search features, and it allows personalization that enhances the search capabilities.

The "Explorer" screens make it easy to find related information. For example, in Order Entry you can easly access the packing slip, and invoice, as well as see if the invoice has been paid without ever leaving order entry Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It can be harder to identify the table/field names. In the classic version you could easly identify a field in the screen from the help menu.

Kinetic is available on prem or in the cloud, it's friendly to medium customization and automation; logging in by SSO is easy; Customer support is good for most functional or technical issues/requests, and we have a good Customer Account Manager; Implementations are aided by a good data migration tool; licenses are concurrent; It is adaptable to our manufacturing needs and requirements; the Kinetic technology stack is modern; SaaS service is reliable Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's very flexible, and allows us to mould it to our specific companies flows. it has proved a fairly reliable tool that we can start leveraging to accomodate our growing company Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are some hard limits that constrain us, and occasionally there are semi-frequent bugs which can cause business interruptions. Also the fact that on-premise customers seem to be 'looked over' compared to cloud. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
