I like that with Employee Navigator, I'm able to keep track of important dates related to employees, such as birthdays and anniversary of employment dates. The "Tasks Dashboard" also keeps me on track and brings "to-do" items to the forefront. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've only been using Employee Navigator a few months, but in that time, I've yet to run into anythint I dislike or any features that don't work well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This is not a comprehensive HRIS but it does it's job when in a pinch or not many options available when integrating or merging payroll systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Basic platform, not fancy and only somewhat user friendly. Customer Service was not helpful or supportive in any way. They lack the customer service mark by only replying with brief responses. We ended our contract with EN in 2024 because we switched to a more robust system to handle direct benefit carrier integrations to streamline our processes. EN did not take this well. Employee Navigator DID NOT do an exit walkthrough OR provide us with final reports (as most HRIS's do) OR instructions on what we needed to pull for future audits. Since we are an acquistion company and merge our acquisitions into our HRIS's, we have a lot of knowledge and experience in many platforms. What was shocking is the lack of options in supplying us a limited service for record keeping purposes. Instead we received a response, "That is unfortunately not something we'd be able to help with. All data will be purged from our records prior to the 1st of the month following the termination date and cannot be retrieved once it has been deleted." PURGED?!? Deleted! Don't they have a responsibility to keep employee records for a certain amount of time? Either they are being dificult or just don't care. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The system's ability to integrate with so many carriers and vendors is probably one of the features I like the best. This is a great time saving feature for an agent and their clients. The ease with which an Open Enrollment can be handled combined with the carrier integrations makes the renewal process extremely smooth and flawless. With the added responsibility that employers have with regards to ACA Reporting, the seamless process of generating 1094-1095s for the Employer makes for one more valuable service that an agent can assist with. When encountering any issues or questions with the Employee Navigator platform, the service and quick responsiveness of Management and all Employees to resolve any issues that are encountered is phenomenal. The Service Team is always kind, patient and answers all questions and resolves all problems with a smile. The detailed follow-up responses we receive on phone inquiries are invaluable when reviewing the issue/question that was presented.
Yes, i do love working with Employee Navigator! They strive to be the BEST at what they do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Don't believe that any one HRIS system can be everything to everybody. There will always be a feature that could/can be added or improved upon. But when it comes to making improvements and responding to changes in technology and the insurance arena, this is definintely a number one priority for Employee Navigator. They continually strive to address brokers needs as it relates to their clients ongoing demands for new features, as well as carrier changes that are continually being made. EN is very user friendly and easy to figure out. The support team and articles are great. Setting up plans and imports and whatnot is fairly straghtfoward and the system is mostly good about flagging conflicting information Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The fact that the file sends terminations to the carrier more than once is an issue because it generates discrepancy reports unnecessarily. EN also gets confused if someone changes from an FSA eligible plan to an FSA ineligible plan as it does not auto term them from it when they select the other plan. As a result, we've had some issues that are caught after the fact. It would be nice if the system had a way to automatically pull the FSA coverage in these instances and put a notice up to the employee letting them know they are no longer going to be enrolled in the FSA plan. It would also need to auto open the HSA window, where applicable, as that plan will still show ineligible for enrollment in these situations because the FSA has not been removed. Cuts down on processing / admin time. Also there are no challenges trying to read handwriting on paper enrollments. Which can cause errors in maes, DOB's and SS#'s! Been adminstering group benefits for 20 years and this is a game changer has freed up a lot of my time! Found Employee Navigator after 2020 ! Many groups were working from home and it made Open Enrollment and New Hire Administration so much easier. That's how we came to use Employee Navigator, I needed a way to be able to help my groups administer benefits without being face to face. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Just trying to keep up with all the upgrades and changes. Not sure that is a dislike or just user error tryiing to keep up with it.
Time zone difference when I need help and EN is already closed and not available for verbal support. Really challenging with a group we have in Hawaii. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is easy to use for administrators and employees. The system provides quick links to their Help Center and the page layouts are easy to navigator to find what you need. The Support Team is outstanding with guidance and helps when you need to resolve a matter you can't seem to fix. All in all it is a system I recommend to clients who need a simple and easy to build platform. The build and implementation of Employee Navigator is quick and easy to complete. Integration is also easy, especially the Data Exchange with various partners. I am in EN every day, updating information quickly, setting up open enrollment and generating reports. EN is a great tool for brokers, administrators and employees. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The fonts are too light and sometimes are hard to read. I would prefer a darker font. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to configure each group to meet the needs of the client.
The support team is always very help at finding solutions to problems.
The user interface is intuitive.
The ability to do data exchange integrations with carriers and payroll integraitons is the most valuable Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some limitations to the plan designs that can create issues when trying to build certain plan types. Specifically supplemental medical. One carrier has issue age supplemental medical and we cannot truly build this out because of the limitations
The qualifying life events tab does not have enough specific options to fit what employees call in for.
The life events on the benefits tab are always defaulted to allow employees to enter in their own life events. This creates issues if an employee creates a life event without HR or our knowledge. Their should be a setting to default all life events to need to be HR approved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Besides being a great platform, the customer service is top notch. I can't stress this enough in an age where most companies shy away from having a real person answer the phone. Issues that I have had as a builder are quickly resolved over the phone or shortly after (typically less than an hour) our conversation. It helps build confidently knowing that I have reliable support when I delve into a new part or function of the system.
Because there are so many features, I often learn something new with every build. I don't think that I am close to using every available function on any of my cases. With so many options the system is very versitle and flexible, making each build a custom creation for each of my clients.
I fell in love with platform the very first time I used it as an enroller. I found the enrollment flow quite user friendly and immeadiately wanted to introduce the platform into my accounts. When I got the opportunity to be a dedicate builder for my agency, I jumped on it. I have had the opportunity to do some individual training in the Frederick, MD office and am looking forward to the convention in DC in June.
I am in the system daily and enjoying the creative side of building cases. While I am leaving a comment in the "dislike " section, know that I am quite satisfied with both the platform and the excellent support team and the experience is coming from someone who is still early in his building experience. While overall the integration and implementation of the system is user friendly, the process for many of the vendors can be a little stressful at first. Most of this is the process that the individual vendor uses to test and finalize integration. You can't predict vendor A's timeline by your experience vendor B. Some connect almost instantly while others seem to take months to finally integrate.
Obvously, vendors that you regullarly use prove to be a little more predictable. But, in the process of learning you wonder if there is something you missed or if what you are experiencing is normal.
For instance, the first time that integrated with Aflac Group, I asumed that I needed the plug showing the status of integration had to be green prior to enrolling anyone. I stressed about it, concerned that it was going to hold up open enrollment because it was yellow. I reached out to several people at Aflac Group and folks within my organization and could not get any difintive answer. Finally someone did answer and let me know that the integration wouldn't show green until after the open enrollment and the enrollment files connected. It would have been less stressful to know that up front.
To be fair, that information might be in an article or in the knowledge base. Those also have a lot of information to digest and can be quite overwhelming to someone new to building a company. Not that they don't prove to helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

One of the best things about EeNav is the employee experience. I have used numberous online enrollment systems, and EeNav is by far the best experience for employees enrolling in coverage. The flow and ease of completing enrollment helps to work employees through the process and requires litte to no assistance from the broker. It is also very helpful post-enrollment to review benefit elections and access benefit summaries and other documentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If possible, it would be nice to sub-group on medical plans. In Utah, most carriers will offer multiple network choices on the same plan. For example, the group offers a $250, $500 and $1000 deductible, but offers 2 newtworks on each plan. Employees are then looking at 6 plan choices. which can be confusing. It would be better if they only saw the 3 plans, and then selected the Network from there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ease of setup, you can setup a client, build simple plans, load data and be ready for an open enrollment with in a few hours. The system can also handle complexities as well and allows for larger groups to be onboarded to the system. Reaching out to Support is easy, they typically have responses within 24-48 hours and are always super polite and professional. Lastly, all the data integrations have made our lives a lot easier! The ease in which you can connect your enrollment to a carrier without little to no effort on your part is a blessing. Looking forward to more carriers and payroll vendors being added in the future! My current team are daily users of Employee Navigator, most have at least 6 years experience on this platform and some have over 20 years experience in the ben admin industry. Some things we struggle with on the system is COBRA not being included on all the carrier integrations, causing manual work and the onboarding module could be more robust. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
