What do you like best about Amex GBT Egencia?

I like that I can enter a location and Eqencia will pull hotels in the area and allow me to arrange them by distance or price. Eqencia is my companies preferred partner so I'm not sure how it compares to other work sites, but it's very similar to using Hotels.com which I really like! What do you dislike about Amex GBT Egencia?

One thing I have noiticed is sometimes hotels varry; one day a specific hotel will show unavailable through Egencia but if I check back a few days later it will be available. Not sure if this is from lack of rooms or the site budgeting with the hotel but it's not a big concern to me, just something to mention. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Amex GBT Egencia?

As a travel arranger, I rely on Egencia daily to book flights, hotels, and rental cars for our team, and overall, it gets the job done efficiently. The platform is user-friendly, with a streamlined interface that makes it easy to manage multiple itineraries at once. Amex GBT allows arrangers/travelers to quickly implement a payment method that is easily usable for each booking. Customer support is generally responsive, but certain issues require more back-and-forth than I’d like. Since Amex GBT took over, there have been some noticeable changes, and while the core functionality remains solid, I hope they continue refining the platform with travel arrangers in mind. Amex GBT Egencia streamlines corporate travel management by consolidating booking, reporting, and policy compliance into one platform. For me as a travel arranger, this means less time spent juggling multiple vendors and more efficiency in organizing trips. The platform ensures that all bookings adhere to company travel policies, reducing the need for manual approvals and expense tracking headaches. Automated reporting and traveler tracking also improve safety and accountability, which is a huge plus for duty of care. While there’s always room for improvement—like more intuitive rebooking options—Egencia ultimately saves me time and keeps travel logistics running smoothly. What do you like best about Amex GBT Egencia?

I like that all of our employees can book their travel with ease and in most cases (unless it's a rental car), the company CC is on file so there aren't a lot of out of pocket cost for company travel, it also saves them time not having to submit for reimbursement. Egencia also helps us know where our employees are when traveling. Reporting is key as well, you can customize reports to include the data you want. We were recently given a new Account Manager, she has been super helpful with finding areas of savings or programs we can join for savings/points. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amex GBT Egencia?

My dislike is more of an airlines issue rather than Egencia. we have a ton of cancelled travel which results in unused tickets (most non-refundable) so then the traveller has a credit, if that person doesn't have any upcoming travel, then I have to see if someone else in the company can use the credit before it's expiry, sometimes even if you have all the information needed and you have the other person's travel ready to pay for, there's still snags/red tape trying to use the credit. What do you like best about Amex GBT Egencia?

* Egencia is a self-user travel platform where our employees can be responsible for their travel needs.

* Egencia has let us implement our travel policies that best fit our organization's travel needs so that we can continue traveling at the most economical fares.

* Egencia approval settings have helped us hold different department heads accountable for their travelers who do not follow our policy.

* Travel reports have helped us identify month-to-month and year-to-year travel increases or decreases and in what areas we travel the most

* Egencia preferred rates, along with our corporate-established rates for hotels, have worked to ensure the best nightly rates.

* When in need, Egencia customer service has been their to support not only our travelers but myself as the travel manager over our account.

* Our organization uses egencia everyday we have over 2000 employees traveling on a regular bases each quarter.

* Egencia has improved every year to include more features and make our travel booking needs easier on the platform.

* When egencia has done site updates, it has been very easy for us to continue booking without confusion.

What do you dislike about Amex GBT Egencia?

* At times, we do get customer service agents that are new and are still in the training process so our call times when calling customer service are long to make changes on an itinerary. For example an hour

Egencia is solving where I no longer have to book travel on behalf of our employees but providing them with a self-service tool so they can manage their own trips so my time can be better used in monitoring, reporting and assisting travelers with emergency situations. What do you like best about Amex GBT Egencia?

As a travel manager, I appreciate Egencia’s ease of use and how seamlessly it allows me to manage travel for our company. The platform is intuitive, making it simple to book, modify, and oversee travel arrangements for multiple employees. The reporting features are robust, providing clear insights into travel spend, trends, and compliance. Additionally, Egencia’s customer service is responsive and helpful, ensuring that any issues or last-minute changes are handled efficiently. What do you dislike about Amex GBT Egencia?

The main downside (and I think downside is a strong word for this) I’ve encountered is the guest booking functionality. Unlike regular users, guests cannot be easily searched within the platform, making it cumbersome to locate their information. Instead, I have to generate and print a report just to find guest users, which adds an extra step to the process. While this isn’t a dealbreaker, it would be much more efficient if guest travelers were searchable in the same way as regular users. Overall, this is the only feature I would change. As a construction company, one of our biggest travel challenges was controlling hotel spending and ensuring that our subcontractors could check in without needing a personal credit card. Egencia has streamlined this process by allowing us to attach company travel credit cards to bookings, enabling prepayment so that subs don’t have to present a card at check-in. This not only removes a financial burden from them but also enhances security by keeping our payment process centralized and protected. Additionally, Egencia’s tracking capabilities allow us to see which division is utilizing a subcontractor based on the credit card charge, providing clear financial oversight and reporting. What do you like best about Amex GBT Egencia?

User friendly experience for booking and corporate travel management company set up. Easy to manage traveler profiles, policies, departments, and central billing. Convenient feature to add corporate discount codes from vendor contracted rates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amex GBT Egencia?

Frequent unexplained errors and the newest update makes it more difficult to view a traveler's itinerary for approval. There are now multiple steps/clicks and different tabs opening just to view booking details. Customer support does not always provide a timely solution for simple bookings and provide vague reasons as to why we see errors when trying to book. Our account manager has done a great job in assisting with any questions and following up with open cases and trying to provide solutions, but most of the issues don't depend on her, but rather the customer support and technical teams. What do you like best about Amex GBT Egencia?

I love the fact that we can go to one site to book travel arrangements for our employees. Once you set everyone up, the site stores all their important information, including rewards information. No need to keep track of everything for each employee, Egencia does that for you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amex GBT Egencia?

It's an annoyance that even when reservations are canceled, we are still charged the booking fees. I know they're not much, but having to explain to all our employees that they still need to input this small fee into their expense report is a headache. What do you like best about Amex GBT Egencia?

The most helpful aspects of Egencia are that I can keep a completely itinerary all together without having to book flights, hotel, car separately. And that I can compare flights from all airlines, filtering for the number of stops, connecting cities, price and sort however I choose. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I don't like that it seems to take long to get things accomplished by phone because the reps do not speak English as their first language. They are a little slow sometimes in speaking but they are very clear and are easy to understand. And always helpful and kind. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Amex GBT Egencia?

It's an incredible travel platform for booking, finding excellent itineraries. The customer service is excellent. You can manage flights for the same project, and it's very easy to track.
