I like that I can enter a location and Eqencia will pull hotels in the area and allow me to arrange them by distance or price. Eqencia is my companies preferred partner so I'm not sure how it compares to other work sites, but it's very similar to using Hotels.com which I really like! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One thing I have noiticed is sometimes hotels varry; one day a specific hotel will show unavailable through Egencia but if I check back a few days later it will be available. As a travel arranger, I rely on Egencia daily to book flights, hotels, and rental cars for our team, and overall, it gets the job done efficiently. The platform is user-friendly, with a streamlined interface that makes it easy to manage multiple itineraries at once. Amex GBT allows arrangers/travelers to quickly implement a payment method that is easily usable for each booking. Customer support is generally responsive, but certain issues require more back-and-forth than I’d like. Since Amex GBT took over, there have been some noticeable changes, and while the core functionality remains solid, I hope they continue refining the platform with travel arrangers in mind. There are a few areas where it could improve—features like duplicating past bookings or more flexible modification options would save a lot of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that all of our employees can book their travel with ease and in most cases (unless it's a rental car), the company CC is on file so there aren't a lot of out of pocket cost for company travel, it also saves them time not having to submit for reimbursement. Egencia also helps us know where our employees are when traveling. Reporting is key as well, you can customize reports to include the data you want. My dislike is more of an airlines issue rather than Egencia. we have a ton of cancelled travel which results in unused tickets (most non-refundable) so then the traveller has a credit, if that person doesn't have any upcoming travel, then I have to see if someone else in the company can use the credit before it's expiry, sometimes even if you have all the information needed and you have the other person's travel ready to pay for, there's still snags/red tape trying to use the credit. The main downside (and I think downside is a strong word for this) I’ve encountered is the guest booking functionality. Unlike regular users, guests cannot be easily searched within the platform, making it cumbersome to locate their information. Instead, I have to generate and print a report just to find guest users, which adds an extra step to the process. While this isn’t a dealbreaker, it would be much more efficient if guest travelers were searchable in the same way as regular users. Overall, this is the only feature I would change. Frequent unexplained errors and the newest update makes it more difficult to view a traveler's itinerary for approval. There are now multiple steps/clicks and different tabs opening just to view booking details. Customer support does not always provide a timely solution for simple bookings and provide vague reasons as to why we see errors when trying to book. Our account manager has done a great job in assisting with any questions and following up with open cases and trying to provide solutions, but most of the issues don't depend on her, but rather the customer support and technical teams. I love the fact that we can go to one site to book travel arrangements for our employees. Once you set everyone up, the site stores all their important information, including rewards information. It's an annoyance that even when reservations are canceled, we are still charged the booking fees. I know they're not much, but having to explain to all our employees that they still need to input this small fee into their expense report is a headache. The most helpful aspects of Egencia are that I can keep a completely itinerary all together without having to book flights, hotel, car separately. I don't like that it seems to take long to get things accomplished by phone because the reps do not speak English as their first language. The plateform offers a great variety of accomodation options at competitve prices, making it easy to find the right choice for different needs. It's an incredible travel platform for booking, finding excellent itineraries. The customer service is excellent. You can manage flights for the same project, and it's very easy to track.
