Highly customizable CMS that is easy to work with and has excellent support. Makes developing easily maintained react apps easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is a bit of a learning curve, and the new UI lacks contrast which can make working in the back end difficult at times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The CMS feature set and ease of use are best of breed. There really isn't anyone doing it better. Modular blocks and content modeling are extremely intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The inline preview and edit tags can get quite complicated to debug. A simpler solution to WYSIWYG would make the product stand out against the competitors.
An odd one that I run into all the time is the lack of "Folders". An implementation of taxonomy in a way to create simulated folder view at a minimum would resonate so well with many customers who are coming from content systems that have them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We have nearly 100 users of Contentstack, from people in Legal to Comms to Digital. It has been easy for people to learn and works great across our ecosystem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is very difficult to export content. There is no simple way to export a list of pages or page types. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Contentstack's flexibility and robust features make it easier to manage complex content structures. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes over technical for non-developers, and the learning curve can be steep. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have been using Contentstack for just 1 year but I found it extremely helpful when it comes to organising the content. I used almost every other day and it has so many fetaures where we can link an entry to some other entry. Its easy to integrate with Front end and backend using nodejs. I honestly dont find anything. Its just amazing to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There were indeed many instructional documents for me and the team to access and learn from during the project development period, which was very short, starting from October 2023 and concluding in January 2024. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Currently, my team is facing the following challenge:
A Unique ID is generated once, useful for successful API calls, but previously we set up that entry with only one attached file. However, now there's a need to attach more files to a single entry, which leads to errors causing the loss of many previously published entry data, and at the same time, we cannot find a way to modify the entry accordingly... Also, with a unique ID for an entry, there's nothing much we can do... there are too many difficulties to describe... sorry for those. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Seems powerful and modern.
Does what you tell it to do.
I don't know but there are probably lots of features that can be implemented.
Can't comment on customer support as I don't have access to that.
Despite all the annoying issues I am fond of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As an end user, it's hard to find features and customise workflows.
Why isn't it possible to organise files by name/date/other quality? It drives me insane that you can't do that and they're always organised by "recently opened". What if you need to work through a list of them (thousands, say) and have no way of marking, tagging or knowing where you're up to?
It should be more possible to make batch changes to certain types of files.
It should be easier to see previews of how images will be cropped in certain formats.
Also when creating/saving new files such as photos, I do not want to have to look for the correct folder which is in a different position each time. I do NOT want the folders to mix up their order depending on what someone else clicked on recently. I want the folder architecture to remain the same each time so that it's easy to use. This leads to another problem, duplication. Why is it possible to create two folders of the exact same name? Recipe for disaster.
Another incredibly silly thing is that there is no preview function you can access before making a change or making a new page live. This makes it impossible to be creative/experiment/fulfil new requirements.
Why is there a whole second block of WYSIWYG input that we are not allowed to touch, but that can't be deleted?
The time and date system for events doesn't allow us to customise according to our brand style guide. It also doesn't account for daylight saving where you need to change the timezone from AEST to AEDT. Need to be able to fix this on our side not just accept it.
Sometimes it feels like ContentStack is a platform that has never been used to create a website before, so we are requesting all these very reasonable fixes that require weeks/months of work to implement.
The platform makes it really hard to see and click and find what the content actually says in the back end, because there are so many other fields and the important main content boxes are collapsed all the time.
Why is there NO SPELL CHECK available for a content management platform.
Make it make sense... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Contentstack has been deployed successfully across our website, and we now self-serve within the marketing team to manage existing webpages and create new webpages for PPC webpages. In my experience, it has been relatively easy to add features and taxonomies to the product so that all users are following the same process. As a frequent user of the product following the initial launch, I found page editing and deployment very fast and seamless. The live preview is an impressive feature and reduces anxiety around edits not taking effect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some intricacies and sometimes unintuitive steps when using initially, e.g. the live preview only worked when we selected a specific (and unobvious) domain from the dropdown. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that you can customize the CMS, and add unique styling. I primarily use Contentstack to host the design system guidelines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The UI is a bit of a learning curve to use. I wish you could sync assets from Figma versus having to upload them via PDF/SVG. This makes maintenace hard over time when the system scales or even small changes are needed in components. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Contentstack is an excellent system to seamlessly manage & create content in many different platforms/environments. It is incredibly easy to use and setup. It is one of the main systems we use at work. It is a breeze getting up to speed on it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is some redundancy in the submissions/versions that can get hairy. Often times you find yourself with 50 different versions of a project and no idea how it got there with minor edits. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
