The user interface is very simple even a new hire with no previous email marketing experience can pick up in few days. The reporting dash board is straightforward and easy to read, all essential report can be shown within clicks. I also like the Heat Map analysis very much, it really helps me understand customer behavior and the performance of our creative assets. Thier customer service is very suportive and knowledable. On top of that, thier pricing is the most approachable compared with all competitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The list, segment, and tag featrues are not the best among all the email tools I've used, because it doesn't have as many condition filter to segment contact to very granular level. Some email marketing tool can automatically generate UTM code for your email, but with Constant Contract I have to put my own UTM code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I would really like a feature that sends a new subscriber the last email sent to the list. I'd also like to see a feature that integrates to Eventbrite and automatically pulls emails from ticket buyers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ease of sending test and final emails, as well as the simple recipient lists. Once the email is built, it's a very intuitive process. It's so easy that the first time I used it I thought I did something wrong. 'Surely I'm missing something here...' Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think the actual email builder could be simpler and more user friendly. Some of the functionality, like adding, removing, and adjusting content, is not as intuitive as it could be and occasionally causes me to compromise my desired look.
Obviously, this is a nitpick and certainly not something that would cause me to leave the platform (or even hesitate recommending to someone else) but there is definitely room for improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The updates to the email marketing builder have been great. The Events manager has allowed us to cancel our Eventbrite subscription and centralize communications for events. The platform allows us to easily add users with limited roles so that we can delegate tasks efficiently. We can't speak yet to the social media functionality, but we have a plan to test whether it can meet our needs and allow us to move away from Hootsuite. Between monthly and weekly newsletters, ad hoc emails, and event management, we use Constant Contact daily and it has integrated into our workflow well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When there are platform changes/updates, glitchiness can last a while and be frustrating. Most recently, our email builder through a large portion of last year was infuriating to use (items wouldn't move as expected, changes weren't syncing, the page jumped strangely when adding or deleting, etc.) To be clear, those have resolved, but the interruption to my daily workflow was frustrating.
I find asset management lacking, too. I would like a more intuitive ability to group/sort and delete photo uploads for emails. We've been using Constant Contact for 7 years or so, and it's become out of control. One example of this: each time I resize an image upload using the CC editor, it creates a new copy of the image automatically. Having the option to either save the image with the new edits *or* to save as a separate copy if needed would be so helpful to reduce the amount of clutter in our uploads.
The basic search function also baffles me. When I enter a search term from the Email Hub, my filtering options are limited to the status of the email. That's profoundly unhelpful, given that the search results are sorted by whatever the system decides is relevant. This means an email I'm hoping to copy from last year could be buried after emails from 2018. There are other ways to search and find emails, but having the ability to filter by date/date range and other basic data in the Email Hub search bar seems imperative Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It’s packed with customizable templates, automation features, and great analytics. Perfect fornonprofits, it makes sending emails, newsletters, and managing social media a piece of cake. The drag-and-drop editor is super simple, so you don’t need to be a tech whiz to make your emails look awesome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can feel a little basic if you're looking for advanced features, and the pricing can get a bit steep as your list grows. Also, some of the reporting options aren’t as detailed as other platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I guess the best thing about CC is that our "open" rates have increased dramatically. The website is a great tool to create the email campaigns with a bunch of assistance tools that help me to create a much better campaign. I've used the AI tool a few times and been amazed at the quality of the tool. I received a bunch of compliments at the text in a few of my emails.. : ) ... eventually letting them know that it was CC's tool and not me. I've yet to get "stuck" with an issue while working with the website... as happens with so many sites. My Board of Directors continue to heep praise on me for moving over to this servcie. The previous question was easy... this one is difficult. I have yet to "bump" into an issue with the site. There are a few times I find formatting a little confusing... but as I have gotten more experience I have worked through that problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Constant contact is an easy to use platform that allows organizations of different sizes to communicate effectively with their audience. As a public utility, we have used this platform to successfully deliver monthly newsletters for residents and businesses with ease.
In addition, the intuitive platform allows users to easily craft content that provides audience with a good visual understanding of the message, whether it is new offerings or highlighting key efforts completed by an organization.
Lastly, the ability to contact customer support to resolve issues instantly is a huge benefit when faced with tight deadlines. Constant contact has the option of live chat or direct over the phone support to answer specific questions that may not be found in a FAQ.
I have worked for several organizations that have successfully utilized this product to deliver cost efficient and effective digital marketing campaigns. As an avid user myself, I highly recommend this product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At times, formatting can be a little tricky in terms of getting a publication to look exactly the way you want it to. However, most of these issues can be resolved when contacting customer support.
I would also say embedded videos only support Vimeo, which can be challenging at times if you are hosting directly on an organization's webpage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like about Constant Contact is that it is accessible on the go for its users and can be viewed on any device by receivers. I love the variety of templates it offers, making my job easier. As a company, we send out several CC emails daily, so whatever shortcuts I can use offered by CC are greatly appreciated!
I also like the fact that I can remove non-receivers and bouncers and at the same time check the stats to see where we can improve.
Creating the lists/groups is a priceless function as well! Especially when we have vendor-sponsored events or need to reach only part of our retirement community.
The average age of the residents here is 80 plus and we have over 6K subscribers among almost nine thousand residents. That goes to show you how easy it is to receive and manage CC emails and news even among the golden agers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I sometimes have to reload the page while putting together a marketing email. Somehow the site freezes and don't allow me to move forward. It is not a big deal but a little inconvenient when under the pressure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think constant contact is not only very beginner-friendly but offers lots of different data analysis points. I think for a large system, when serving over 500 email clients and then several different campaigns that need to run simultaneously, it's a good product. You can also integrate social media and important contacts from Salesforce seamlessly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think the issue I've had is the running speed. The app is very slow, and adding pictures can take up to two minutes, which incentivizes them. The Canva integrated app inside of the email editing is almost unusable. There are also some data points that are missing: how long an email has been read for is something I'd like to see. Sometimes the email will lag out, and then you won't be able to save your work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that the layout and design is simple and not too complicated. I think having too many options for everything can make customizing too confusing. The options availible are laid out in a way that is easy to use and understand, as well as customize if desired. I like that you can see what you're working on and the editing options are off on the left side as well, it helps me stay organized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think some options could have more customization available such as where things can be put on the pages. For example, when using buttons you can put them to the side of either page or in the middle, and you can have many of them on top of one another. However, in certain circumstances I've wanted to have two buttons right next to eachother horizonally and have not been able to do that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
