What do you like best about Clay?

Things I do with Clay that I could not before:

- automatically run Google Search enrichment row by row to identify company domains (e.g. I have a list of company name and industry but no domain, can't do much with that, enrich with Google Search and pull out first URL)

- waterfall phone number outputs from multiple enrichment providers and use ChatGPT integration to hunt for repeating numbers

- find company linkedin url from company domain

Incredible number of features, super easy to get going and quick to implement, amazing customer support, integrates with sooooo many tools.

I use Clay almost daily and know many excellent people who build their business entirely off of capabilities they get only with Clay.

The main question you probably have right now is - what IS Clay?

Imagine a spreadsheet connected to tons of data vendors, CRMs, sequencers, ChatGPT, and other tools, that lets you operate IN the sheet to build lists, enrich records, lookup records, reformat records, etc. etc. etc.

I ALMOST don't need Google Sheets for list building at all. Almost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Clay?

It's an early product with some nooks and crannies that could always be improved - more templates would go a long way. But there's so much value disproportionate to pricing.

I do wish it would flag dupes before I run an enrich but that's on me for missing it too.

HubSpot integration has a few bugs but they're working with me on it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Clay solving and how is that benefiting you?

Normally to build a high quality account list I have to hop between LinkedIn Sales Nav, several enrichment tools, Google Sheets, and Google. With Clay I can do 99% of the workflow in one spot. And go beyond account lists into contact discovery and enrichment, in just a couple Clay tables.

Huge time saver, new insights, new data, ChatGPT summaries, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Clay?

There's just so much to like about Clay. Here are the highlights for me:

1. A lot of integrations that automate our entire workflow

2. A lot of in-built features and tools for free such as Clay Company Search and People Search, Company URL verification etc.

3. Paid tools like Claygent Neon and Clay enrichment are great too

4. Allows you to create a custom waterfall for each task making the whole process tailored to your needs.

5. Can be cheaper than alternatives if used correctly for certain things like phone data enrichment using low credit options and APIs.

6. Customer Support is great and friendly.

I have been using it daily and has found it very useful. I can't imagine going back to what life was before Clay. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Clay?

I don't dislike anything specifically, but few things can be definitely improved:

1. Ease of Use/Learning Curve: It can get very expensive if you don't know how to use it with API's and integrations. Creating the correct waterfall and using the correct API's can make it a game changer for your outbound.

2. Payment Transparency: This is common with most tools that they show pricing in terms of credits which can be straight forward if an action takes one credit but with different credit usage for different actions, I think it would be better to either show the cost of an action in dollars (mobile enrichment using a certain tool costs 2 credits so can be mentioned the ollar equivalent amount, or at least before an action is run, a pop-up showing the total cost in credits would give some idea). P.S. They say you'll get 3000 free credits to play around with Clay if used a referral link, but they don't mention that you'll only get those if you subscribe to a paid plan.

3. UI: The UI can be a bit complex for new users since you buy credits on a workspace level and not on account level. So if you use a referral link, create a workspace and then while subscribing to pro create a different workspace (can happen if you are new) in the same account, you'll not get your referral link credits unless you talk to CS. I prefer account level billing for all Workspaces.

4. Its ease of implementation can be improved as some options are tough to find. I think the earlier UI worked better than the newer one but that's just me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Clay solving and how is that benefiting you?

Clay has automated my entire workflow saving me countless hours per day and has significantly descreased our workforce workload. This has resulted in hyper growth and scalability for our agency that was previosuly unachievable with manual work without sacrificing quality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Clay?

Clay has democratized programmic, automated lead sourcing, enriching, researching, and outreach. Sales tech development is now way more accessible to non-programmers like me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Clay?

There are frequent bugs, updates, and things that are still missing like credit use tracking and bucketing (for multiple projects/clients in one table) but it is still leagues ahead of every other core sales tech platform like Apollo, Hubspot, Outreach, etc Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Clay solving and how is that benefiting you?

Clay is the operating system for connecting sales tech that never existed before. Clay allows me to do the work of what 5-10 sales reps often are needed to do, even today. The main benefits are massive times savings - less BDRs and VAs needed to process leads and the fact that it functions as a consolidated sales tech platform so we don't need 40+ different subscriptions, we just use Clay. I love how Clay takes the busywork out of my outreach, pulling all the data I need into one place so I can move faster and focus on what actually matters. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Clay?

I honestly can’t think of anything to dislike. At first, it felt a bit intimidating, but once I dove in, it’s like playing a video game at the highest difficulty level and winning - I’m hooked now, and there’s no going back. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Clay solving and how is that benefiting you?

It’s helping me save a ton of time on lead research and outreach. What used to take hours of jumping between tools and copying data now happens automatically. It frees me up to focus on reaching out to prospects and actually getting results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Clay?

I actually love how how you can make your imagination run wild with this, from over 100 data providers incl the use of AI, to do 10X from what was possible before Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Clay?

CLay is absolutely awesome, however if you do not have API's it can work out rather expensive depending on what you want or need to do Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Clay solving and how is that benefiting you?

Well from only being able to do 20-50 manual enrichments, Im now able to do 1000's. SO it has save me tons of time Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Clay?

As a RevOps Strategist with an expert-level proficiency in Excel, I am absolutely floored by how much more efficient my workflow has become since integrating Clay Labs into our tech stack. The AI assistant is not just a game-changer; it’s a revolution in productivity. I can simply instruct it to create a complex similarity score to compare two columns, and within seconds, the formula is drafted and finely tuned, saving me countless hours of manual configuration. This is just the tip of the iceberg—Clay’s ability to seamlessly integrate with any data source connected to the internet means that our GTM strategy is always informed by real-time, accurate data. The AI assistant within Clay has turned what used to be a labor-intensive task into a streamlined, automated process, allowing our team to focus on strategy rather than getting bogged down in the weeds of data manipulation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Clay?

Honestly, there’s very little to dislike about Clay. If I had to nitpick, it would be that the sheer depth and breadth of its capabilities can be overwhelming at first. However, with a little time and the excellent customer support team, this quickly becomes a non-issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Clay solving and how is that benefiting you?

I was able to cleanse customer data using integrations Clay has with 3rd party data brokers and I was able to seamlessly add formula logic and even generative AI to augment data streams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Clay?

Provides the most accurate data by using multiple providers so it has improved our reachability a great deal. Has the feel of a spreadsheet so quite easy to get up and running. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Clay?

Can go through credits very quickly if you don't know what you are doing. It can become expensive very quickly and there is only pricing relief in terms of cost per credit on the highest plan. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Clay solving and how is that benefiting you?

It allows us to find leads and enrich them and then send out multi-channel campaigns via other tools. It solves the problem of getting incorrect data that we used to have when using a single data provider. It also helps to generate hyper personal messaging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Really powerful data tools, I love being able to combine all the sources of data while prospecting. The enrichment is amazing. What do you dislike about Clay?

Nothing I dislike, but I wish it was easier to integrate with my CRM and LinkedIn. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Clay solving and how is that benefiting you?

What do you dislike about Clay?

It is so complex, so much so that I am put off using it. It takes so much time to get anywhere, and I still haven't gotten any benefit from the tool. It is incredibly frustrating to have a prospecting tool that wastes so much of my time trying to use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Clay solving and how is that benefiting you?

Its a whole package in itself, can help you do A-Z in all the data work. From scarping and enriching lead data to sending super personalised email campaigns, it does it all. I also love how it allows you to integrate with your existing techstack for free too so that we dont waste double credits here. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Clay?

Can be more on the costlier side when it comes to actual credit usage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Clay solving and how is that benefiting you?

Clay is a good tool made for sales to optimize their time and enhance efficiency in the outbound sales process.

What I like most about Clay is that it is a tool that works quickly, has a good, accurate database, and can be integrated with another tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Clay?

The interface looks like a spreadsheet, which is not bad, but it would be better to have something more explicit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Clay solving and how is that benefiting you?

Clay basically has a pretty accurate database that helps teams create good lists of prospects. This solution can improve efficiency in the process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
