What do you like best about Bonusly?

Bonusly's monthly budget allowance helps foster a culture of continuous graditude. The platform is very intuitive and the hashtags and giphy functionality makes it fun and feel very natural. The biggest barrier to using recognition tools is time it takes, and having an informal feel without a huge amount of information to fill out makes sending a thank you something you can do in the moment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bonusly?

I'm not sure I have any feedback on this. I think that any improvements are likely configurable by our admins. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Bonusly solving and how is that benefiting you?

It provides a platform to thank your co-workers every day and recognize the people who do a lot of little things rather than one giant thing that is easier to recognize. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Bonusly Overview

What is Bonusly?

Recognition should do more than reward good work—it should fuel it. Bonusly’s employee recognition platform helps your team improve engagement and adopt the behaviors that set them, and your organization, up for long-term success. Unlike conventional programs that offer surface-level appreciation and transactional rewards, Bonusly combines meaningful recognition with performance tools to create lasting behavioral change and measurable results. Bonusly makes recognition more effective and improves employee growth, performance, and retention—creating a win-win for employees and employers alike. On average, Bonusly users receive recognition five times each month, providing leaders with valuable data about collaboration, performance, and team dynamics. Most organizations stop at simple thank-yous. With Bonusly, managers gain actionable insights to inspire their teams, drive growth, and ensure every employee feels engaged and empowered. With more than 3,400 companies—including DoorDash, Toast, Seat Geek, and Magna-Tiles—seeing better team performance and improved retention, we're proving what effective recognition can achieve. We make recognition meaningful, habitual, and connected to what matters most—helping organizations build cultures where people want to stay and grow together. Because when recognition is done right, everyone succeeds.

What do you like best about Bonusly?

Bonusly provides such an easy way to recognize the contributions that your coworkers make each and every day. The familiar interface, similar to social media, make it easy to navigate and interact with. Plus, the ability to utilize media like GIFs in posts really makes the system engaging and, dare I say, entertaining! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bonusly?

There isn't much to dislike, to be honest. If I were to be really picky, I would prefer there to not be any fees associated with cashing out your points via PayPal, but I understand that those fees are from PayPal and not Bonusly directly, so there may not be anything that can be done to address this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Bonusly solving and how is that benefiting you?

We needed a way for coworkers to recognize and encourage one another and Bonusly provides a great solution for that need. Employees love using Bonusly to thank their coworkers. Plus, we use Bonusly to issue prizes for company-wide recognitions, and to set rewards for following through with certain goals that the company establishes. What do you like best about Bonusly?

Bonusly is honestly one of the best things we’ve introduced to our team. It makes recognizing coworkers super easy and fun, which has really helped boost morale around us. People are way more engaged, and you can tell it creates a more positive, appreciative culture. I also really enjoy the GIF library, which is most of the time the highlight of the appreciation posts and pairs well with other platforms such as Rippling or Slack by providing easy-to-use shortcuts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bonusly?

The only thing I can say is that while the platform is easy to use, I would like more flexibility in how rewards and recognition are structured. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Bonusly solving and how is that benefiting you?

Bonusly solves the problem of finding a way to constantly show appreciation, not only from supervisor to subordinate but from colleague to colleague. It makes it super easy to give quick, meaningful shoutouts, so recognition actually happens instead of getting forgotten.

For us, it’s been a huge plus. People feel seen and valued, which boosts morale and makes work a more positive place. It also encourages teamwork because everyone’s more aware of each other’s contributions. And let’s be honest, the rewards are a nice bonus! It’s just a great way to build a better, more appreciative work culture. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Bonusly?

I loved that there is a shared space where I can express my own gratitude and highlight someone else's achievements - as well as receive a public compliment for doing something worthy.

The idea is simple and powerful. The interface is friendly and empowering. The capabilities are incredible, allowing for maximum creativiry. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bonusly?

The only thing I would like Bonusly to improve is adding the ability to hide all the comments when adding your own. There were cases where I wanted to leave a comment but couldn't even see the post - because of all the comments on display. It was either the post, or my comment, a PC screen wasn't enough. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Bonusly solving and how is that benefiting you?

Bonusly helps me know more about what's happening outside of my office. As our company is widely spread across the globe, it's great to have such an opportunity to hear other's success stories. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Bonusly?

With Bonusly, I'm able to know what's going on for the entire team. Sometimes work can feel siloed within a department, especially at a fully remote company. But with Bonusly, I know when someone in a totally different department does something cool... and I'm able to show some support, encouraging them to keep up the good work! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bonusly?

Sometimes the web browser version has been glitchy (although I haven't had any issues with it recently). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Bonusly solving and how is that benefiting you?

Pre-COVID, we had a small, tight team that was hybrid (meeting in the office a couple times each week). That meant that we got to bond a lot and we knew what was happening across the company. Ever since COVID, we've stayed fully remote. We tried Bonusly and it became an instant hit. Our team is constantly giving each other shoutouts and it really helps bring everyone together. What do you like best about Bonusly?

I think its so important that employees feel appreciated and a system like this makes recognition and rewards very easy. You tag your employee. You hashtag a corporate value. You chose how many points to award. It's something I use every month, going through all my points. The rewards cataloge has both a nice variety of awards and, something that sets them apart from competitors, even low value awards like a $1 Amazon voucher, which means people shouldn't be left with points they can't use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bonusly?

The one downside I see in Bonusly, compared to previous to a similar rival I used at a previous employer, is there is no option to recognize someone without issuing reward points. Sometimes when the points for the month have run out, there are still things that you want to shout about. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Bonusly?

Bonusly has a really great and intuitive UI. There is also a really good selection of Rewards. Its super easy to use and I like to use it every month to reward my colleagues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bonusly?

Deciding when to cash in for a Reward or keep saving up is difficult!

Usually I dont remember to use a # in my message. It's already good about reminding you though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Bonusly solving and how is that benefiting you?

As a remote company it can be hard for us to build relationships with colleagues. It can also be hard to show how much you appreciate something a colleague has done because an instant message doesn't convey emotion too well. Bonusly really helps with both of these issues as you can reward colleagues every month and really show how much their help has meant to you. This can really help with relationship building. What do you like best about Bonusly?

I've been using bonusly for about 10 months now and it is really great at the auto-scheduled bonusly points. We have it set up for new hires, birthdays and anniversary dates. I also love how it reminds managers and other team members about those dates, as well as using their points by the end of the month. Usually that last week we see a huge surge in peer to peer recognition that gets everyone really excited.

It's pretty easy to use, and the options to give people seem to make them really happy.

Unfortunetly I wasn't with my organization when they did implmentation, so I can't comment on that, but maintaining the system is incredible easy and hands free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bonusly?

My only grip is about the hashtags, if its not one already in the system, you have to choose another one that matches the system to process the request, and sometimes I forget what is already in there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Bonusly solving and how is that benefiting you?

It's a great way for peer to peer recogniztion, which then allows other department heads to add on to it.

I really love the add on feature, so that if someone solves a big problerm, everyone can chip in points! Also makes anniversay dates super easy to celebrate, and the team will tell us what their bonusly points bought them! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Bonusly?

In my experience with Bonusly, one of the aspects I like most about it is the inuitiveness. The interface is simple to understand which makes it easy to give points to people, as well as see what points have been given to you any by whom. I especially like the integration with Slack to see a running ticker of Bonusly activity. Bonusly provides a user-friendly way to give encouragment and recognition to teammates and co-workers for their work efforts, or just because you thought of them. You can trade in Bonusly points that you've earned for points you can give to others, or trade them for rewards like gift cards. I love it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Bonusly?

I love that Bonusly is our platform solely for Recognition. We deployed Bonusly about 15 months ago and it has been wildly popular at our organization. We have had a few programs in the past that did not stick or work well for our organization, but Bonusly is amazing for its ease of use and success in spreading fun and positivity at our organization as well as it's teriffic rewards catalog and customization features in rewards and for recognition awards and incentives. Also, Bonusly integrates with our HRIS BambooHR which is amazing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bonusly?

Sometimes, it can be slightly hard to find specific administrative report features I'm looking for. They provide great analytics and reports, but there are several tabs on the admin page and I seem to struggle to find certain analytics when I need them, even though I know they are there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Bonusly solving and how is that benefiting you?

Bonusly is now instrumental for our employee experience and recognition. There has been an interesting correlation between our decreasing turnover and the date we implemented bonusly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Bonusly?

Bonusly is a great way to generate a culture of appreciation in the workplace. It is also easy to use, fun, and inspiring for all. Bonusly helps me share my colleagues achievements while also showcasing that I recognize their hard work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bonusly?

I really do love bonusly so it's difficult for me to think of downsides. I suppose I do not appreciate the "top receiver" aspect as much. I think there is no need for the competitive aspect and it might make some people feel underappreciated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Bonusly solving and how is that benefiting you?

Bonusly helps remove the awkward conversations/ interactions when you want to show someone appreciation but don't know how to express it. On the other end, it makes receiving appreciation less awkward when you feel weird about being rewarded in front of others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
