**What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?**

The native integration with Salesforce is easily the standout feature for us. Since it’s built directly into the CRM environment, we can rely on standard Flow automation to run our event processes end to end, which has eliminated a huge amount of manual work. The event wizard is also great for quickly spinning up new registration sites, and the option to clone events has made managing our recurring schedule far more efficient than the old, manual approach we used before.

**What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?**

Honestly, the only real drawback is that their updates can sometimes introduce minor regression issues that end up breaking existing features. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it does mean you need to be disciplined about testing everything in a Sandbox environment before pushing any updates to Production. That’s standard best practice anyway, but with this platform it’s a step you really can’t afford to skip.

**What problems is Blackthorn Events solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were struggling to manage a high volume of repeatable events and needed automated attendee tracking along with seamless web conferencing integration for hybrid sessions. Blackthorn addressed this by centralizing everything in Salesforce. Now we no longer have to manually reconcile data across different systems, and the business impact and ROI are much easier to track because the data already lives where our sales and marketing teams do their work.

**What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?**

I like that Blackthorn Events is very easy to set up each time we want to create a new event. It's also capable of handling extremely complicated tasks, especially with how it integrates with Salesforce and manages payments, etc. The initial setup was pain-free and an easy process. Since then, we haven't had any issues at all, and the integration is seamless. I also appreciate the product's ability to handle complex tasks like restricting who sees certain events and sessions, and features like Pay Later which we use for sponsorships. Over the years, Blackthorn Events has significantly improved as a product and the team has been extremely collaborative with us regarding improving their products, aligning with the latest Salesforce updates.

**What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?**

I like that Blackthorn Events integrates with Salesforce and utilizes the event wizard portion. The integration with Salesforce is scalable across our entire footprint, which is five states and 25 account managers. It helps us stay organized and utilize existing information like phone numbers and email addresses to maintain contacts. We use it as an iframe on our WordPress-based website, which means we no longer have to post events to multiple websites. We set them up in Salesforce, and they feed automatically to the iframe. The initial setup was very easy, with a very thorough onboarding session.

**What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?**

Sometimes Blackthorn Events is unable to match contacts with existing contacts in Salesforce due to alternate email addresses or nicknames, which causes duplicate records.

**What problems is Blackthorn Events solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blackthorn Events helps us trigger invitation emails easily, track real-time registrations, stay organized with Salesforce integration, and manage events centrally without posting on multiple websites.

**What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?**

Hello dear friends! I work as a Service Desk Manager of my company, and it brings me the greatest joy to write this review. We are conducting numerous business events and webinars and I have been using Blackthorn Events to coordinate the attendee handling.
The very attractive aspect I like the most is that it is sitting entirely within our Salesforce CRM. My service desk agents are finding it easy to see all the details of the guests, ticketing and payment status all on one window. We do not need to skip and skip in the various software. Registration pages are at their finest charming and professional, and it is running like butter to our users. Should any of the customers have a booking problem, my team is resolving them very quickly, as all data is literally stares at our eyes.

**What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?**

Not that much to grumble as it is a very sweet software. However, one thing I need to say is that the first set-up process of very complicated, multi-day events is somewhat baffling to my new junior employees. So many fields and rules to be clicked are customized. We are even requiring some additional time on training to familiarize with the profound settings. In addition, there are occasions where the backend sync is taking an additional few minutes when there is heavy traffic, although it is not a regular occurrence.

**What problems is Blackthorn Events solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously we had had our event data living on one island, and our support data living on a different island. In cases where an attendee opens a support ticket with the question where is my zoom link? or why is my card payment not working, my team was losing so much time searching within various third party portals.
Blackthorn has now been correctly solving this big integration headache. My service desk is closing event-related tickets extremely rapidly since it is all native to Salesforce. We have a smiling high customer satisfaction score! It is providing my team with a very relaxing working life. I would strongly recommend this to every Salesforce using manager!

**What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?**

I love that Blackthorn Events is highly customizable to our needs. It integrates well with Zoom, which is important for our webinars. The fact that it is Salesforce native has been a huge plus, allowing us to automate the attendee verification process that we previously had to do manually.

**What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?**

It requires a fair bit of training for event creators on staff. The event creation process could be more intuitive. There are a fair number of steps when creating an event, and for infrequent event creators, it can be hard to remember everything that is required. They are already working on improving this.

We use Blackthorn Events to automate the member verification process, integrating seamlessly with Salesforce and Zoom to eliminate manual attendee checks.

**What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?**

I write Apex and build LWC for a living, and the worst part of my job is usually trying to force a random external event platform to sync with Salesforce. The best thing about Blackthorn is that it is 100% native. I don't have to write any custom API connectors or worry about managing middleware. When a user buys a ticket, the data drops straight into our org immediately. Because the data is already inside Salesforce, I can just use standard Flows to handle the follow-up emails and tracking instead of writing heavy custom code.

**What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?**

Because I am a developer, I like having total control over the UI. If you want to heavily customize the registration page to match your exact brand guidelines, you will get a bit frustrated. You can't just easily drop in your own custom Lightning Web Components (LWC) to make the page look perfect. You are mostly stuck with their built-in page builder, which means you have to use a lot of CSS hacks to get the exact design you want.

It honestly saves me weeks of development time. I would much rather fight with a page builder for a few hours than spend a month writing custom payment gateways and debugging failed API calls every time we launch a new event. It keeps our Salesforce org totally clean, keeps the data secure, and handles the hardest parts of event management so I can focus on other dev projects.

I find Blackthorn Events easy to use, especially since event managers can build and edit event forms without relying on Salesforce admins, saving us time and making us more effective. I really appreciate that Blackthorn Events is Salesforce native, which means it uses our data and allows for a seamless experience for staff and event participants. Their onboarding team did a fantastic job working with our event managers, ensuring that everything was ready in time for our fall events. When we ran into issues, they addressed them immediately, and their proactive support means that when we have questions, we get a response right away. They also provide great customer service and offer daily office hours for help whenever needed. The team is proactive, efficient, and genuinely cares about their work.

**What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?**

The hardest part of my job is keeping track of who actually shows up to our client dinners and webinars. The best thing about this app is that it puts all of that information right on my normal Salesforce screen. I can just open a client's profile and instantly see if they RSVP'd or checked in at the door. It gives me the absolute perfect icebreaker when I call them the next morning. I don't have to wait three days for someone to email me a messy Excel sheet of the guest list.

**What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?**

I truly don't have any complaints. It does exactly what I need it to do. When our team first installed it, it maybe took me a day or two to get used to where the new event buttons were on my dashboard, but that was just a normal learning curve. It hasn't crashed, and it never gives me the wrong data, so I am completely happy with it.

It takes all the messy guesswork out of my follow-ups. Knowing exactly what topics and events my clients care about makes it so much easier to build a real connection with them instead of just making a generic check-in call. **What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?**

Usually, I’m the one stuck building custom Node.js integrations to get external web apps to talk to our Salesforce org. The huge win with Blackthorn is that I don’t have to build any API connections or maintain middleware. It is completely native. When someone buys a ticket, the data is already inside Salesforce in real-time. It completely removes the risk of broken syncs, lost records, or hitting API limits when a bunch of people register at the exact same time.

**What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?**

I dont find any dislike in using Blackthorn events as it is very easy and efficient in using.

**What problems is Blackthorn Events solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a massive relief for the backend and integration side. Writing custom webhooks and secure payment routing from scratch takes weeks of painful testing. This tool handles the messy data architecture perfectly inside Salesforce. Even though I wish the front-end was more flexible for developers, it keeps our database totally clean and saves me from debugging failed API calls every time we launch a new event.

At Shubook, we run quite a few tech workshops and client meetups. What I really like about this tool is how it keeps everything centralized. Instead of dealing with messy spreadsheets or jumping between different apps to see who bought tickets, all the sign-up info flows right into our own database. It makes tracking our guests incredibly easy.

**What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?**

Since we run an IT and digital agency, looks matter to us. The default registration pages they provide are honestly pretty plain. We had to go in and manually adjust the design so the pages actually matched our company website. Also, because the app is packed with so many heavy features, the setup process feels a bit complicated if you just want to run a quick, simple meetup.

The main benefit is what it does for our sales. When business owners register for our tech events, their details drop straight into our lead list. After the event ends, my team immediately knows exactly who showed up. As a Salesforce developer, my absolute favorite part was that it lives completely inside Salesforce. I didn't have to build messy API connections or write custom code just to get an outside app to talk to our system. All the event sign-ups and ticket data dropped perfectly into our database. We absolutely loved how smooth and easy it was to use on a daily basis.

**What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?**

The only thing that annoyed me a bit was how huge the installation package is. It adds a ton of new custom objects and fields into the backend all at once. If you just want to run one tiny, simple event, it can feel like you are installing way too much stuff, which makes the system look a little cluttered.

The biggest plus is the massive amount of coding time it saves. Instead of me spending weeks building custom web pages from scratch and figuring out secure payment rules, Blackthorn handles all the hard work right out of the box. **What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?**

I like how much customization there is in the settings. We have very specific needs, and being able to adapt the product to meet our needs is great. We've utilized CSS for a few things, which has been really nice when the out-of-the-box configurations weren't quite right. The support and documentation resources are great tools.

**What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?**

It is a steep learning curve for beginners. We have a pretty tech savvy team so it was fine for us, but it's not as good for folks who need something 'plug and play'. I think there were some things that weren't automatically configured (i.e. payment gateway) which would have been helpful.

**What problems is Blackthorn Events solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blackthorn Events helps us manage a large number of events efficiently, and the waitlist function was essential. Its customization options allow us to adapt to our specific needs, but it has a steep learning curve. Once configured, it's very smooth to use.

I love that this works right inside our Salesforce system without needing extra apps. When we host a private showcase for Hit and Fit Gems, all the guest sign-ups and ticket payments go straight into our database. We even use the text messaging feature to send our buyers a quick reminder the day before the event.

**What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?**

Even though they say "no tricky integrations," getting the event registration page to match our exact brand colors took some trial and error. Also, setting up the automated text messages can be a little confusing at first if you aren't super familiar with how Salesforce rules work.

**What problems is Blackthorn Events solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The best part is having all our customer data safe in one place. When a VIP buyer registers for our gem exhibition, we can securely process their payment and track their attendance right on their profile. It takes the stress out of planning and makes our events look highly professional from start to finish.

**What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?**

I really like the visibility groups feature in Blackthorn Events. It's a massive win for us because it allows us to show different ticket types or event sessions to specific groups of people. For example, we can display an exclusive VIP executive dinner session only to our top-tier clients while keeping it hidden from the general public. This level of personalization makes our events feel much more tailored and exclusive without having to create multiple separate registration pages. Also, the new intelligence layer has been great for handling quick tasks like ticket transfers through a simple chat-style command instead of clicking through numerous Salesforce screens, which is a huge time saver.

**What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?**

My biggest gripe has always been the lack of a truly robust native drag and drop email builder. While they have basic transactional emails, we still find ourselves needing to jump into Marketing Cloud or Pardot to get the high-end branded outreach we want. I've heard they're working on improving this in the new web-based planet interface, but for now, the email styling inside Salesforce still feels a bit behind the times. Also, the initial setup can be quite daunting. If you aren't comfortable with Salesforce permission sets and page layouts, you're going to have a hard time getting this off the ground without a consultant. The setup was a heavy lift, to be honest. You can't just turn it on and expect it to work with your specific Salesforce configuration. Had to spend a few weeks in a sandbox environment mapping our customer fields and testing the automation flows for our wait lists. Their support documentation is very thorough. But it definitely requires a Salesforce admin who knows what they're doing. It's not plug and play.

Blackthorn Events automates attendee to lead conversion, removing human error and saving my team 10-15 hours of admin work per event. It integrates with Salesforce seamlessly, eliminating manual CSV exports that caused duplicate records and outdated info. It's a centralized hub for managing webinars and tracking marketing attribution.

**What do you like best about Blackthorn Events?**

I find Blackthorn Events very useful for hosting both paid fundraisers and unpaid community education or legal events. It allows me to keep all of our attendee information in one place within Salesforce, which makes tracking deliverables much easier. I really like the ease of setting up events. I value the ability to store custom form information, set limits on event attendance, and create multiple types of event tickets. The setup process was quite easy, and I found the lots of documentation and the implementation team to be great. The documentation page was infinitely helpful.

**What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?**

Salesforce is very obtuse in many ways, and some of what Blackthorn Events does is dictated by the limits of Salesforce it seems. It is quite expensive and we use it on somewhat of a small scale. The set-up road map they have created I found a bit useless.

We haven't seen one.  Anytime there is a feature that we want, we reach out to the support team and we can find what we need.  It's that ease of use and ease of implementation that set this product apart.

It's nice that Blackthorn comes with pre-made templates, saving us time and effort compared to our previous custom-built software. I like being able to create different types of tickets for different attendees, and I appreciate the feature that allows me to add promo codes to discount events. Additionally, the setup was pretty easy since we were switching from a custom system where everything was made from scratch. Blackthorn also integrates well with Salesforce, which is important for us.

I don't like how the look of the registration site can't be changed. I want to be able to change the design, colors, and add images.

Hosting webinars and workshops used to mean dealing with messy Excel sheets. I love that this app drops every RSVP straight into Salesforce. My sales team can instantly see exactly who showed up without waiting for marketing to email them a list.

It takes some real time to set up. You can't just click a button and expect it to work perfectly in five minutes. You have to make sure all your custom fields are mapped correctly, which can be a little annoying at first.

It has been a huge time saver for our business. We don't lose track of warm leads anymore because their information is already sitting in our CRM the second they register. It really helps us turn attendees into actual clients much faster.

I like how the user has a clean form to submit to sign up for events, even if the event is complex (multi-day/session). I also like how responsive the product team can be when we bring issues to them. It's great that it helps us offer a mobile-friendly registration form and capture payments. The simple messaging platform for quick communication with registrants is really helpful. Plus, it's integrated directly with our CRM, which gives us a better picture of how our constituents are engaging with us.

There is no simple way to register people on the backend of the form (i.e. if I am an event host and want to sign up on someone's behalf). There are just too many objects that need to be manually configured to an attendee record that typically would be connected automatically if someone was to go through the front end.

Honestly, Blackthorn has had many downsides in our experience. It doesn't provide a lot of the features we would want out of the box, and has required a lot of workarounds and customer support. It is not particularly user friendly on the backend and without a lot of subject matter expertise, it's easy to accidentally make a change that could impact many other aspects of an event we've put on sale. Very difficult.

I use Blackthorn Events to schedule trainings in my Salesforce org, and it helps me easily record information on events and attendees. I really like the event builder feature with its many good capabilities and the wizard that guides you through the process. You can edit an existing event, clone one, create a recurring event, and do many more tasks to create an event from start to finish. The bookmark section on the left side panel with all the topics related to your event is also handy. The initial setup was super easy using the candy shop. Blackthorn Events seems like a more updated solution for managing events compared to what I used before.

I’ve had trouble with the checkout. There’s no way to accept a donation without having to set it up as an Event Item Main ticket, and the same issue comes up with products. I also can’t find a way to require people to choose their sessions before they check out. On top of that, there’s no option to enter multiple codes at checkout.

They respond quickly to the issues we raise, especially when critical action is needed. I also appreciate that they assess problems internally and use what they learn to improve the platform.

The event web page builder didn’t deliver the level of control we were hoping for. When we tried using the iFrame on our website, we ran into awkward paging and display issues, so we ended up building our own branded pages and using only the Cart functionality, placing the Register button on our own pages.

A large number of events can be managed far more efficiently than we could ever do manually. The company-wide visibility into current event statuses, registration numbers, and related details is a real time-saver and a strong driver for marketing.

Blackthorn's flexibility in creating event experiences allows for early-bird pricing, different ticket types, multiple sessions, purchasing products in addition to registration, and even making donations in addition to registration. Check-in is a breeze for our events staff and allows for a stand-alone kiosk for especially busy events. Because it's an actual part of Salesforce rather than separate, we're able to take advantage of duplicate matching when registrations come in rather than merging duplicates afterwards. Customer Support is very helpful and it's easy to make an appointment for support.

**What do you dislike about Blackthorn Events?**

Some features we wish could be implemented faster: ability to make donations or buy product w/o a registration; custom form answer reporting.
It would be nice to have an 'instant support' option rather than making an appointment. It would also be nice to have a regular meeting to discuss new features and let customers learn from each other; Blackthorn has just started using a Slack channel for this communication.

**What problems is Blackthorn Events solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When people register for events, we'd like to know whether they already exist in our system. Knowing that Jill-attendee is our Jill who graduated in 1993 from Special Education, we can now have more meaningful conversations with her about her time at our University, her donation habits, and current interests.

I like that Blackthorn Events reduces manual work and brings everything directly into Salesforce, avoiding disconnection and keeping everything centralized. The smart scheduler feature stands out because it makes scheduling sessions and managing event timing much easier while keeping everything organized directly in Salesforce. It simplifies scheduling, reduces conflicts, and keeps event timelines organized. The initial setup was very simple with excellent onboarding assistance that made it easy.

I like the connections it has to other interfaces and overall it feels intuitive for our large group of users. We are a huge organization and have thousands of events so the organization cannot be perfect and probably is the best it can be for what exists out there.

I think that the event registration page creation should look better and be easier. It should also be easier to flip between events or to go back and forth without having to open multiple tabs - it makes navigation hard when you're trying to copy over information. I also with there was a way to hide events or make it easier to archive certain things so it looked more organized.
