BlackPoint Cyber offers strong solutions, but some may find the services costly, complex for smaller teams, and occasionally challenging to integrate or scale effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the things I like most about Blackpoint is the response time. Incidents have been actively responded to within minutes. The incident reports are also very thourough which is appreciated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Blackpoint is not the cheapest MDR on the market. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Blackpoint Cyber has exceeded our expectations from sales, onboarding, and tech support. We actually have some Co-Managed clients that have said 'Blackpoint Cyber is the best security tool they have in their stack'. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We haven't had any issues with Blackpoint Cyber. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I really like how quickly we get a call when something suspicious occurs on an endpoint. Also, very quick and easy deployment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The web portal layout is not very intuitive . I sometimes have to navigate between 2 or 3 tabs in order to see events regarding blocked applications that I may want to allow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The SOC is on top of security incidents and has proven its worth. Easy to setup, Great support, and Easy to integrate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Slight hiccup with a machine being quarantined and unable to be unquarantined remotely, but this was an isolated incident. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The service is expensive, which can make it a hard sell for some customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
You know you can take your eyes off the system, safe in the knowledge that the right people are looking when you are not. what a wight of our sholders, I can not recommend highly enogh, I am impressied by all responses and actions and has helped reduce helpdesk support cost overall. The only thing I dislike is, those who do not use the service, one day they will, when the horse has ran, these clients are missing out, I see the value, one day they will regret not have SOC monitor their systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We reviewed and demo'd a ton of MDR providers and Blackpoint came out on top. Most alerts are actionable and the quick response of the SOC is appreciated. These guy know their stuff! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The portal could be laid out better. Also wish it was brandable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Every professional at BlackPoint Cyber with whom we directly have interacted -- from CEO Jon Murchison to Senior VP of Response Operations Wil Santiago to our awesome Senior Partner Account Manager Nicole LaDue and the people on their SOC and support teams -- all share the same passion for defending their clients from the seemingly ever-growing threats in the cyberverse. EVERYONE is accessible in the organization for conversations and discussions; management does not hide behind any business gatekeepers. To our perspective, this offers a refreshing experience as a business partner. For example, if we ever wish to talk with Jon, we just reach out and coordinate a mutually convenient time (or send him an e-mail). He attends conferences and can be found at their booth like the rest of the team for direct dialog. Our experience with each person -- from the aforementioned individuals to the different overnight SOC engineers who have to deliver that unfortunate 2:00 a.m. wake-up call -- have great customer relationship skills.
If something is amiss, the team will ACT to mitigate as effectively as possible on and THEN call the responsible party day or night to detail the situation and whether further work is required at that moment. Other solutions may rely on creating a ticket and/or sending an e-mail (passive communication) seeking authorization to actually DO something, which we do not find particulary comforting or helpful.
The product is easy to integrate and instead of offering their primary product's capabilties into separate ala carte purchases, they combined the device MDR with their Cloud Response (Microsoft 365) protection with very easy-to-follow instructions to integrate the client software to most EDR products like SentinelOne, Cylance, Crowdstrike, BitDefender, Sophos, Webroot, etc. (it inherently integrates with Microsoft Defender). It also has low impact to the performance of the device.
The company does not rest on its laurels; it is constantly putting resources into enhancing its products' capabilities and creating new options, like their version of a SIEM called "LogIC" for log collections or Application Control for approving the use of familiar applications while restricting the unknown.
Their management portal is easy to navigate, even for multi-tenant groups like ours.
We also get educational e-mail notifications on threats their SOC have discovered, so our team can be aware of what is causing a stir in the cybersecurity community in general.
Unlike some other firms, we have found them to be very accommodating both with respect to sales, account, and technical support. No overbearing sales calls. No pressure tactics to "sign up for x number of licenses before the prices suddenly increase next quarter." It seems this organization understands its clients well.
The pricing per endpoint is acceptable with discounts for higher quantities. Considering there is no per-user cost for the Cloud Response (licensing is based on device count, not user), we consider this a fair exchange for the cost per installation.
We know of several other companies like ours that trust BlackPoint Cyber; do not just take our word for it -- ask around! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Like any MDR products, just having this product does not make one's security posture invulnerable. There are still some gaps. For example, all reputable SOCs have experienced human cybersecurity professionals reacting to the metadata that triggers their responses in the first place. While they, like all SOCs, incorporate AI technology to some extent, no SOC can prohibit all actions. For example, 1 GB of files can be exfiltrated via an unusual Powershell activity to cloud-based storage before ANY MDR SOC would notice something is amiss (no malware necessarily is involved and there does not need to be a lot of prerequisite activity to throw "abnormal" processes as the clue that something is amiss). This is a limitation of all MDR products, not isolated to BlackPoint Cyber's offering.
The product relies heavily on its integration with other desktop detection products (like Microsoft Defender) and seems to have limited abilities independently, but that may also be true of other MDR products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
