**What do you like best about Blackpoint Cyber?**

I like the pedigree of Blackpoint Cyber. It's a strong company with a deep focus on cybersecurity. They've been constantly upgrading their offerings, especially now with CompassOne, which gives me more tools for roughly the same price. I can now add services like dark web monitoring and vulnerability scans twenty-four seven, and I could also add SIEMs, which is logging. All this helps me protect my clients better. I've noticed an increase in their response time as well.

**What do you dislike about Blackpoint Cyber?**

We are getting to a point where intrusions, especially on things like emails (e.g. Office 365), are happening very quickly. So we are looking for fast response times. They're already pretty fast, but with AI, it's gonna need to get faster. We'd like to be able to have some help with after an event happens maybe having SIEMs ingest logs from a Microsoft tenant for longer retention.

**What problems is Blackpoint Cyber solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Blackpoint Cyber for 24/7 client protection with AI and human engineers. It handles issues, even at odd hours, letting us manage problems like Office 365 lockouts. It boosts client protection with tools like CompassOne and improves response times.

**What do you like best about Blackpoint Cyber?**

What I like best about Blackpoint is how much easier they make compliance and reporting. Generating audit-ready reports used to be a painful, time-consuming process for us, but Blackpoint’s platform does it in just a few clicks. Everything is automated, accurate, and hassle-free—it honestly saves my team hours every single month.

**What do you dislike about Blackpoint Cyber?**

One area for improvement is built-in regulatory reporting for the financial sector. We’re regulated under both NFA and FCA rules, and right now there aren’t native templates or automated reports for those frameworks. We have to export data and build the reports manually in Excel, which works but isn’t as seamless as the SOC 2/CMMC/HIPAA packages they already offer. Would love to see NFA and FCA reporting added to the platform.

**What problems is Blackpoint Cyber solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blackpoint solves two of our biggest headaches at once: staying truly secure and staying compliant without killing my team with manual work. Before Blackpoint, we were constantly worried about blind spots in detection and spending days or weeks pulling together audit reports for clients and regulators. Now we have 24/7 real MDR with a SOC that actually responds in minutes, plus one-click compliance reports (SOC 2, HIPAA, CMMC, etc.) that are always audit-ready. It keeps our clients’ environments secure and lets us compliant—basically lets a lean team punch way above our weight.

**What do you like best about Blackpoint Cyber?**

So bp is one of the clear leaders in mdr and soc and cloud response. Personally I like the noise and filter out what I don't need. I think integration is great with me and meraki etc. Deployment easy. And response time and ability to stop threats amazing as I've seen so many times. Support has always been responsive

**What do you dislike about Blackpoint Cyber?**

So, I'm not a huge fan of Compass One, their new portal. It's rollout was and is clunky. And although posture is cool and all, it's pretty much a method to upsell into more of their suite and their suite really isn't all that comprehensive. I wish it was. For example, I wish there was SAT and phishing sim.

**What problems is Blackpoint Cyber solving and how is that benefiting you?**

So, we can't have a 24/7 security team, we are too small. It's human element has been invaluable to our team and is probably our favorite part of our tech stack.

**What do you like best about Blackpoint Cyber?**

The abiltiy for them see and stop the spread of a bad guy is simply amazing. They have helped us idenifty a source of a virus point of entry as well. They are always there when you call them too... Each person I have talked in any area has been exteremtly helpful. They don't have the mind set that "this is not not job". When one person didn't have the answer, they got the answer and let me know without having to call them asking about it again. Totally followed  through. and Jamie, well... she is just a rockstar....

**What do you dislike about Blackpoint Cyber?**

Office 365 pricing requires the Snap Agent. Wish could have that as a stand alone product... Need more ganular control on the Admin portal. Need to be able to have a tech level see/add cleints without seeing costs.

**Recommendations to others considering Blackpoint Cyber:**

If your looking for a true "partner" then these guys will take you to the next level. They aren't a sign up and forget you type company. They check in with phone calls and video calls! I prefer those instead of email personally. So much gets lost in text.

**What problems is Blackpoint Cyber solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having the extra pair of eyes and the SOC acting as our a manned security guard 24/7 lets us know that our enviroments are being watched all the time, even when no one watching the screen phyically. Antivirus is not catching the tools that Hackers use, or... certain programs or proccess happening in the middle of the night, or when a cleint is closed.

**What do you like best about Blackpoint Cyber?**

All around incredible value. 

Their new CompassOne suite incorporates Asset Inventory, Tenant Admin, MDR, Application Control (similar to Threatlocker, but MUCH easier to implement), Vulnerability Management, a streamlined SIEM and a really nice Security Posture Rating system.  

On top of the product features, our team at Blackpoint is very responsive and great to work with as well.

Finally, the MDR SOC works as intended when there is a threat detected.

**What do you dislike about Blackpoint Cyber?**

Can't say there are many things I can think of that I could dislike about Blackpoint.  They may not have the name recognition of a Crowdstrike, but maybe that's a good thing.

**What problems is Blackpoint Cyber solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Every client has to have the BP client on their machines. It's not up for discussion. The threat landscape is so profound at the SMB level that we require our clients to have multiple layers of threat protection.

It isn’t easy to understand without training. A regular, free, instructor-led course that covers basic best practices, proper configuration, escalation, and documentation would help a lot.

They provide 24/7/365 monitoring of my client’s network, with SOC remediation available if there’s an attack or even suspicion of a potential breach.

**What do you like best about Blackpoint Cyber?**

I don't have to worry or stress about attacks for our clients. After it gets setup any alert that happens, We get an email and phone call and know we are secure.  It is really easy to connect to office 365 as well. Its still Amazing Service and the Support is very friendly!

**What do you dislike about Blackpoint Cyber?**

They send a ton of email alerts, which can be a headache to clean up but I would rather have 30 false positive emails than 1 breach event.

**What problems is Blackpoint Cyber solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are our MDR and we work with them a lot to keep our clients secure. They also monitor our computers and emails in our offices and keep us secure from attacks as well.

**What do you like best about Blackpoint Cyber?**

Blackpoint has it together when compared to the rest of my stack. On time reporting, good customer service, active alerts by email, not a lot of fuss. I also like the MDR page by clicking on the MDR link from the Blackpoint dashboard and the fact that they contact us about the quarantine/removal of a baddy AFTER they have already taken care of it.

**What do you dislike about Blackpoint Cyber?**

I think that Blackpoint is a must have in my stack. What I would really like to see is an RMM by these guys. I would love to ditch Pulseway and Webroot and keep more of the procedural stuff all under one nice app. Constantly bouncing from app to app becomes tedious when the apps are constantly logging me out. I spend much time logging in, then 2FA, just to get to an app to do some tiny task. It is like work getting in the way of work to be done. Does that make sense? A "One-App to Rule Them All" kind of thing would be nice.

**What problems is Blackpoint Cyber solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The silence is overwhelming! A baddie arrives, Blackpoint handles it. Can you imagine having to monitor all these networks 24/7? We would never get any sleep. Blackpoint is there and they do a great job allowing me to get my beauty sleep at night.

The only negative thing I can think of (and it's minor), is the recent change in support systems and needing to learn how to get to the right place to get the faster response to a newly opened request (I've never had issues when calling in a request via phone).

Providing Managed Detection and Response for our internal team and the majority of the clients we support. This has given us peace of mind knowing that a hyper responsive team is ready to jump in at the first sign of compomise.

**What do you like best about Blackpoint Cyber?**

The SNAP-Defense platform provides excellent visibility, but the real value is the human element. Their SOC response times are really fast, often isolating a compromised host within minutes of detection. The Cloud Response for M365 and Google Workspace is a game-changer, catching BEC (Business Email Compromise) attempts that standard filters miss. I also appreciate that they don't just alert; they remediate. They've already proven their worth to our clients a few times! The support has been top tier. Every time we've had to reach out and chat, they go the extra few miles. We very much appreciate that.

**What do you dislike about Blackpoint Cyber?**

While not a dislike, but something I know they are working on, is the enhancement of Cloud Response. The further integration with cloud environments like Azure will provide even more benefits to providers.

**What problems is Blackpoint Cyber solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the "24/7" problem for our MSP. We cannot staff a Level 3 security analyst overnight, and Blackpoint fills that gap perfectly. They have saved us and our clients from headaches a few times this year alone by preventing a bad situation.

**What do you like best about Blackpoint Cyber?**

Been with them a bit over 2 years now and feel like we're in safe hands with Endpoint and M365 monitoring. Rarely log in to the portal because it's set and forget, and the setup process is easy enough with their KB articles.

Had several informational emails to verify things at our end (i.e. checking a suspicious application), and have now had several escalations suspicious enough to warrant a call to our team, mostly for suspicious M365 logins.

They feel more hands on than Huntress, and feel like they're usually about 6-12 months ahead of Huntress' product releases for things like Defender for Endpoint integrations and such.

Support is also good

**What do you dislike about Blackpoint Cyber?**

I'd be much happier if there was more visibility into actions the SOC Analysts have taken. We see many events that are flagged as suspicious in the SNAP Portal, and that they were "Resolved" by an analyst. I appreciate them, not hounding us with all the false positives they find, but it would make us feel safer if there was a way to click into each event and see a note from the SOC as to why it was determined safe. This was one thing we quite liked about Huntress - the visibility.

Huntress has also now got a better ITDR portal than Blackpoint IMO for things like suspicious M365 logins. Being able to see exact details about the suspicious activity, and historic VPN usage or browser use is something that Blackpoint could improve on when it comes to us trying to decide on whether a login a client has made is suspicious enough to action further, though Blackpoint will usually solve this with a phone call to us which is nice.

I do feel like Huntress is quickly catching up on feature parity - Blackpoint is putting all their effort into CompassOne which looks decent but seems to be more marketing hype than actual updates.

Blackpoint makes up part of our advanced security offering for our clients. It covers off MDR for endpoints and Office 365. Having it in place means we don't have to monitor and triage suspicious activity on Endpoints or M365, Blackpoint handles that for us, and escalates items to us if required.

Their technical ability and the value add of their SOC.
Deployment and M365 integration is quick and easy to setup.
Their new management portal also looks quite good, too.

The fact that they haven't managed to support ARM / Snapdragon processors yet and the inability to produce a report of all assets for all customers over our entire client base.
Although their SOC team and quick at corresponding, their support team could be much more efficient in their replies.

Proactive MDR with their SOC which means we don't have to hire expensive in-house cybersecurity specialists.

The speed at which they respond to incidents, often before any reportable activity occurs has saved more clients than I can count.

Their site navigation and integrations do not have much information that helps to inform you or alert you to expirations or issues.

Blackpoint is our Guardian angel that is watching our clients and delivering peace of mind. I don't mind being woken up at 3am on a Saturday when it is Blackpoint telling me that stopped a ransomware attack or kept someone from having a BEC event.

It works without all the noise I see from competitors. It was very easy to integrate and rollout via our RMM. Their support has been stellar.

The UI of the web portal is not as smooth as I'd like. Funny thing is I'm hardly in the portal since everything works so well :-)

We need a MDR solution that is best in class and does not create a lot of noise. Noise costs staff time, which drives the cost up. Blackpoint nails it!

Really easy to deploy and manage. Straight away we were receiving alerts, and their support team has been very responsive. Easily integrated with our end point solution and Microsoft 365.

I like the ease of use and responsiveness of SOC team.  My Account Manager is super helpful and a joy to work with.  He goes the extra mile to make sure things are setup correctly. I am also please about the price and the new features that are rolling out.  I upgraded my account today.

**What do you dislike about Blackpoint Cyber?**

I dislike the lack of how-to-videos on the platform, patch management features, and some account features are not readily available to change such as MFA, and some customer account functions.  I mistakenly created a customer account and it is still in my queue.

Microsoft Defender and Intune seem to change every month so the ability to manage some functionality through the platform is great.

Blackpoint is addressing many of the shortcomings of their solution with CompassOne.   The platform is more unitied so that we can implement and manage our customers through a single interface.

Monitoring of both of customers endpoints and cloud environments.   We are able to monitor the enforcement of the controls we have in place.

**What do you like best about Blackpoint Cyber?**

Blackpoint is great with identifying suspicious activity and making good decisions on locking something down to prevent compromises.  They have been very quick with their detections and it is always a human that reaches out to make sure we acknowledge the issue and take over with the next steps.  The incident response reports are great and very similar to the ones my team makes, which really cuts down on duplicated efforts.  We were able to deploy Blackpoint quickly and easily.  Blackpoint has an integration with our PSA, allowing us to automatically keep license counts in sync with our agreements.  We use Blackpoint now exclusively because they have quickly built trust with our team.

**What do you dislike about Blackpoint Cyber?**

How they detect licenses needs a little work.  For example, if a computer has an agent installed and that same computer has a name change or domain change, Blackpoint will register it as a new device.  This can cause double billing if not kept updated frequently.

**What problems is Blackpoint Cyber solving and how is that benefiting you?**

24/7 monitor of both physical devices and Cloud detections.  Our hours are M-F 8-5, and Blackpoint allows us to have coverage  24/7.  Even during business hours it is great knowing we have a dedicated partner keeping an eye on security for all of our customers.  Since deploying Blackpoint we have had multiple customers express how impressed they are at how quickly we can detect and respond to issues.

Their SOC has stopped several existential threats to our clients and BEC events in SECONDS, stopping too fast to travel, logins from unexpected countries, and active human threat actors attempting to exfiltrate data.  stopping multi-million dollar ransom/exfiltration incidents before they even happened.  We've personally experienced this quite a few times - they also have application control tools, monitors for unexpected remote access tools (TeamViewer, Screen Connect, etc)

**What do you dislike about Blackpoint Cyber?**

I brought things I didn't like to their attention and ideas for improvement in meetings with my Account Manager, and in a direct meeting with their CEO, and they remedied it.  They now have pooled billing, a better portal experience and better marketing collateral.

BP SOC team has been extremely valuable in detecting and responding to incidents in real-time. Communication and response time have been excellent, we have had little issue with regards to the SOC team and their expertise.
Agent software is easy to deploy and doesn't need any maintenance. Integrations have worked well out of the box and don't require a huge investment of time to configure.

Platform navigation could be better, it sometimes can be a bit confusing when navigating between clients and global settings.
More granular control over alerting, several time we've experienced alerts that are noisy and can't be dialed down, it's either all or nothing, so this has been a challenge where we disable some alerts that at times we would like to have.

The service is quick to deploy and configure, and the SOC team does a great job of identifying and reacting to suspicious activity on endpoints and for accounts in M365.

Lack of a public API is a big miss currently. The customer portal for managing the platform has always been a point of concern as well, but I'm told a refresh is finally coming soon. I would like to see more granular permissions in the customer portal as well.

**What problems is Blackpoint Cyber solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a set of eyes on the gathered telemetry and alerts 24/7 is great. We can't afford to staff 24/7 at our size, and don't want to burn out staff investigating alerts in off-hours. They also enrich the data we would normally see in Microsoft logs directly to provide more context and identify suspicious connections that would be essentially impossible without that extra enrichment. An example is knowing the IP was US-based, but also within a block known to be used by threat actors. In the Microsoft logs, you'd only see a US-based sign-in, which by itself wouldn't appear suspicious.

The Blackpoint SOC is extremely fast, skilled, and knowledgeable. The Implemention process is extremely simple and the integration is seemless.  The support from our Partner Success team is absolutely fantastic and the enablement materials are extremely helpful. The transparacy of thier solution / product road map has us very excited.

Additionally, the platform's dashboard is intuitive and easy to navigate, offering valuable insights into potential vulnerabilities and actionable recommendations to improve our, as well as our client's security posture.

With Blackpoint designed for Service Providers, there is a lack of features that support a "co-managed" relationship. Service Providers can certainly add client user accounts but there is a lack of transparency for the "Client User / Admin". 

The reporting could also be improved with the addition of having the ability to generate quarterly, bi-annual, or annual reports. With the ability to only generate monthly reports it is very challanging to compile QBR's or Annual Service Reviews/Summary's.

After talking with several colleges and looking at lonine reviews we narrowed it down to 2 potrntial solutions. I wanted an MDR vs a SIEM solution as MDR better addresses resolution to a problem vs. identifying a problem.

Blackpoint is our standard for MDR.  Their solution has been very valuable in stopping threats, and alerting on potential threats. We depend on their 24x7 SOC to protect us. We can quickly deploy their solution, and ongoing administration is efficient.

In the past, when their SOC alerted us, we wouldn't receive the ticket/report in a timely fashion. They listened to their Partners and resolved this issue. I have no other complaints.

Staffing an internal, 24x7, SOC is a daunting task. The systems, and hiring of qualified analysts becomes a burden for most MSPs. Blackpoint Cyber consolidates all of the necessary security needs all in one place! From MDR to Dark Web Monitoring, you can ensure your clients are protected by one of the leading SOCs in the industry. It is a HUGE plus that everyone on the team is US based and even so, communication can be made around the clock.

The only improvement for Blackpoint is to include more products. Adding EDR or DNS Filtering to your platform could take it to the next level.
