The ability to turn an idea into something tangiable and useful without the need of a full-blown dev team and months of planning is what makes Appsmith so valuable. The tool is very easy to pick up and learn and very intuative. Plus the free tier gives you plenty of features to get started immediately. The intregretion to many different data sources is also a huge plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Being low/no code, it perhaps lacks some of the flexibility and features compared to developing something bespoke from stratch but this is to be expected. I imagine the Appsmith team will continue to add features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

In Appsmith I don't need to write any code for design, I can simply focus on the functionality for my application. Its drag-and-drop interface and wide range of integrations make it easy to create custom applications quickly. Whether you're a developer or not, Appsmith empowers you to boost your productivity. The only thing I don't like about appsmith is sometimes it does becomes laggy and drops in performance while extensive usage like loading speed for your application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I managed to build a personal finances app with a good deal of features literally from day 1, exploring on the AppSmith free plan connected to a Supabase DB. I also explored AppSheet and Budibase for the same project before, but my experience was far inferior with these alternative and I wasn't able to reach a reasonable progress in the time I was able to spend.
The speed of development is incredible and I was able to navigate my way through by only spending a few minutes on tutorials when getting blocked. The concept of having managed queries (as wrappers over the DB) makes a ton of sense, as well.
I tested so far the integration with a PostgreSQL relational DB in Supabase and the experience of setting this up was also very smooth (including the usage of the Deno framework).
It is marvelous how AppSmith combines ease-of-use with power, given that almost everything is parametrizable with JavaScript behind the scenes. Apps are never straight-cut, and my experience with low-code/no-code tools before was that I hit a roadblock where I would have needed to write a bit of code to achieve my goals.
Such a comprehensive set of features, a UX first focus and the ability to freely extend the funcitonality are for me huge wins! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Getting aligned to the best practices (in order to scale your efforts down the line) takes time, but that is the proper design time that needs to go behind any engineering endeavor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We've been using Appsmith since a few months and it's been a great tool. At first we we're thinking of using retool. But after trying appsmith we didn't think twice. We have a lot of different data sources and appsmith being able to hand every one of them without any additional configuration has saved us a lot of time. Its so easy to get started, even on the self hosted version. We're hosting it on AWS EC2 through the AMI and it spun up within minutes. I wish more servies offered such easy methods to get started. We're using the free version and it's been more than enough for our needs. We're planning to upgrade to the paid version soon.
Being able to embed apps is a great feature. We're using it to embed tables and other widgets in our internal dashboard.
So overall, we're very happy with appsmith and we're looking forward to using it for a long time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Does not have a dark mode.

Appsmith is an incredible tool! It requires a bit of imagination and creativity to get things done, often involving some workarounds, much like programming in general. However, it's much simpler and a lot about experimenting. Once you get the hang of it, you can understand how it works, and you feel your applications continuously improving. The UI is quite beautiful, and using Appsmith is super easy. I have used both the self-hosted and cloud versions, and both work excellently. Additionally, Appsmith has reduced my development time by at least 40%.
The way to integrate appsmith with different apis is awesome, but i would like to have a way to create a login that allows you to use your own jwt logic but not from scratch.
I use appsmith like literally every day in my work day and i am currently developing a SaaS with it, which i will be hopefully launchin soon.
Its pretty easy to deploy and to keep track of changes also, sometimes it is kind of hard to understand some conflicts on git but it is becaus of the way json are store so does not really matter.
The community is great, and their videos are helpful, i recommend asking question in discord Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One area that could use improvement is the documentation. There are certain aspects that are hard to find information on.
Another challenge is positioning widgets exactly in the middle; arranging objects in a grid layout can be tricky. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Being able to connect to datasources and present the data in a table is quick and easy.
Creating compex forms is also straight forward, having the flexibility to add javascript code is very useful.
Also there is a large number of widgets to use which makes it possible to provide great functionality in your apps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
its hard to find anything to dislike at this early stage, there is a big learning curve but it is worth it to be able to build apps quickly Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As long as the app meets your needs, there’s really nothing to dislike. The process may vary, but in the end, you'll achieve the results you're aiming for! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

AppSmith is a strong technical platform that allows for a lot of flexibility when it comes to creating platforms. There are a lot of intuitive built-in data sources but additionally the ability to implement any APIs is very helpful and easy. I use AppSmith everyday in my workplace to create various low-code applications. The customer support is also unmatched, being able to easily meeting with a specialist to get questions answered through chat or virtual meetings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While AppSmith was a very good platform, there were some limitations that made it difficult. For instance I was unable to upload a PDF to an OpenAI model despite the model having the capability to do so. Despite that, I was able to find a work around and still create my app to its fullest extent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Creating responsive layouts for mobile devices could be more intuitive. Additionally, setting up detailed user permissions can sometimes require extra effort. Despite these minor issues, Appsmith remains an invaluable tool for my development needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
