Nothing that is so great about Egencia but it does it's work.
Some of it's UI design & features are good. You get the detailed expense report. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Many times they failed to make payment (for the corporate bookings) for the hotel reservations they've made and it has caused a lot of issues. Sometimes error (swapping the dates :) - bug from the hotel side as well) in booking.
They do not have any idea of the real view of the hotel ambience (at least they can google maps - street view and make sure the place is quite safe and not so cheap) and facilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Excellent prices and availability to save trips for later. I can include all my rewards programs once and it applies them automatically. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Doesn't have a "flexible dates" verification for price comparison. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Simple to use interface to book flights and hotel and got quick reimbursement through my company. Was able to find the right locations and best timeframes that fit my companies guidelines. Good integration with corporate accounts so I didn't have to worry about spending on any of my own personal cards. Being able to adjust the filters and watch the new content flow through was a nice overall experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes was a bit slow or lost my progress while in the middle of figuring out logistics. Overall never found anything to be much of a hindrance. Company eventually migrated away from using Egencia for a cheaper solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is a mobile app which houses all of your travel information which is easy to access at a moment's notice. You can also select from a wide variety of flights, hotels, cars, etc. using the app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While it seems like a typical OTA (online travel agency), Egencia is clunkier in UI and functionality. It is difficult to specifically make your travel arrangements the way you are used to on an application like Orbitz. Additionally, I had an experience where my reservation for a rental car was lost, and dealing with the Egencia customer support at 12am on a Wednesday was very challenging. Once my itinerary was changed by a flight delay, Egencia did not respond well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I always felt it was fairly easy to use. I thought the search functions were fine - overall, it's a fine product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The interface is dated and not as user-friendly as other newer offerings out there. There's nothing special or any incentives built in like other new products out there (i.e. TripActions) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing really stands out as "best" honestly. It software I use because i have to. There are far better ways to schedule travel, but this is what my company requires. The "best" is that it is integrated with financial systems for expense reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The UI is dated, it isn't consumer friendly. I get the perspective that they know their audience is captive and therefore usability isn't very high. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Its easy to search for hotels and flights just like you would on any major travel search engine. The ability to filter the choices by in-policy/out of policy is super cool, also displays if the flight has wifi option and if the hotel has breakfast included clearly displaced Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The approval process can sometimes be misleading depending on how your company has configured it. I once thought I had already booked my travel while it required an another level of approval and I had to revisit and confirm the travel again. Also it is harder to book travel across multiple hotels during the same trip. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Bringing corporate bookings online is certainly a positive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Had issues in the past when bookings did not finalize within Egencia, however no notifications were sent along the way. It took me reaching out to Egencia to inquire about my booking, then them "re-booking" the transaction to actually progress it through their system. Better notifications and being responsible for their system if it fails to process something accordingly. As well, more hotel options would be nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that my company has decided on ONE tool for us to use to book travel so I dont have to waste time price shopping around other sites
I like that the UI is recognizable and intuitive.
I like that my company has put a corporate credit card on file so i don't have to pay for travel and be reimbursed.
I like knowing that someone at my company has a record of my travel plans in case of an emergency in my destination city
I like the great pictures of the hotels
I like that TripAdvisor reviews are included
I like that I can see all my trips chronologically - hotel & air combined Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't like the restriction that in order to fly Virgin American it has to be for both segments (out and back).
I don't like how the map refreshes when looking for hotels - its a bit slower than I'd like.
That's all i can think of Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
