Sometimes flights cannot be booked and you have to call customer service to resolve. Currently the customer service center keeps PST hours and I am in EST. This can be frustrating having to wait 3 hours to know if you have a flight booked or not. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Egencia very quickly picks out the closest accomodation to where I need to work from. Distance from the work location(s) are specified also. The red flag to identify which accomodation options are outside the company budget is also very helpful. Tool tips that explain which hotel/room options are paid by the company in advance versus paid by myself on arrival is definitely an important feature. Access to the Egencia platform is simple and easily integrates into the company portals. I have used Egencia twice and will definitely use it again for future travel. I like that I can book all aspects of my business travel through this single portal: airfare, hotel, and rental car. As I make reservations, Egencia allows - but doesn't force - to group these reservations into a "trip" to give a clear view of cost. I also appreciate the clear indication of which reservations would be outside company policy, while still displaying these options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are certain idiosyncrasies with the system, especially related to hotel reservations. I dislike that Egencia defaults to 3-star hotels even despite my search selection not indicating a preference for star rating. Each time I search for a hotel, I must remove the star rating filter that I didn't ask for. (I don't mind staying in 2.5-star hotels that normally get filtered from view. This can often save money for the projects without adversely impacting the travel experience.) I also don't like that Egencia opens so many new tabs just by following a standard booking flow for hotels. I'd also prefer that Egencia offer proper train and bus travel options, as well as transit booking where applicable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- I loved the UI of Egencia, the way the information is displayed is so easy to grasp even for someone as new as me.

Nothing major, just a small thing I found confusing while trying to download receipts I was forwarded to a confusing page where I couldn't figure out what to do. Turns out, I was able to easily download the receipts once my Manager approved my request. So, stating this information on the UI for the users would be really helpful!

If you've booked a flight and need a rental car, the system auto fills the rental car pickup location/days/times for you to correspond with the flight info.
As you add items e.g. flight, hotel, car, an itinerary is developed and compiled for you so you have a complete document with all your travel details in one place.
Easy to search hotel options that help with decision making.
Super easy to book a multi-city flight with the online system - huge advantage if you need to stop-over in cities, rather than just a "there and back" flight.

Our company has required us to use Egencia for all travel, but sometimes when attending an industry event, the event organizers have arranged for a hotel discount for attendees and we've been unable to use that discount due to going through Egencia to book.
There have been times when I tried to get loyalty points at a hotel and was told I couldn't because I booked through Egencia/Expedia. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Flight booking was super convenient, the app even flags flights which are within your company's travel expense policy. So no worries to not get the full price paid by the employer. I don't know if this was just an exception, but the booking number shown in Egencia app did not work in my Lufthansa app for checking-in. Egencia bills me for canceled trips, does not refund and prices for e.g. hotel bookings, are more then twice as high compared to if you would book yourself, directly on the hotel website or any giving booking site, like booking.com, trivago and so on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Egencia works on my phone and on my computer with the same ease of use. It flags things that will be against policy so I can choose options that won't cause a hassle later on. I can book flights, hotels, and cars, and I get my receipts emailed in a way that I can file my expense reports quickly when I get back. It saves my company card info too so I don't have to fish that out when I'm trying to book travel in a hurry.
