It has a high-quality keyword research tool that can help you find relevant keywords to grow your business. However, under their new pricing scheme, it became useless. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Once one of the most excellent SEO tools, it became a tool that confused customers with complicated pricing schemes and tried to charge as much as possible.
We have been AHREFS customers for almost five years, and their recent changes have made us wonder how far this company can go in terms of customer service, customer respect, and pricing schemes. The new scheme is so complicated that your credit card can suddenly charge $1000s without your knowledge.
When we contacted to customer support, they told us that beside the $2000 annual fee we pay, we also need to pay $3500 for additional keyword tracking (which we never signed up for, it was migrated from our old account, where usage was free) without our knowing.
We decided to stop partnering with ahrefs due its complicated pricing model which scams users and surprisingly charges you and we're moving to different platform now.
Usage is not recommended due to the high scam and confusion rate. Recommendation from a company with over 1 million organic monthly traffic and 22 million visitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Ahrefs is packed with features with new ones coming out monthly. The new AI tools are really useful, considering a lot of the SEO work is analyzing data (which AI is extremely good at). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Our company is in a very niched market, so many of our keywords aren't crawled very often (or not at all). This means we need to consume credits to gain data insights. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Ahrefs has every toolset or feature that you need to do including keyword research, backlink checker, and so on.
However, the best feature of Ahrefs is their Webmaster tool which is free for everyone. So, you can simply integrate with Google Search Console and you'll get access to all your website insights such as ranking, traffic, backlinks, and technical SEO health. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The pricing could be improved and simplified more for a small team or individual freelancer. Also, the search volume data accuracy is not up to the mark considering the search volume/traffic potential it shows on the tool and the number of clicks you actually get every month.
Sometimes, there is a big mismatch in the data accuracy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I purchased a subscription thinking I was getting a trial run. Usually companies will say tough luck and not refund you but Amy from Ahrefs responded same day and refunded completely. Very pleased with that experience and I will probably return someday.. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I didn't continue the subscription because I didn't feel like I wanted to learn the ins and outs of the user interface yet. I have heard that it's a great tool though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like everything on the platform. It is a very holistic tool and definately something that every company should at least try to have for several months. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Literally nothing. Everything on the platform is very well structured. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Its core functionality is unparalleled. It's critical to my day-to-day and achieving large-scale content marketing and SEO strategies and outcomes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's pricing is always changing. They do not communicate this properly to customers. This would be fine if it was a less expensive platform, but Ahrefs is not cheap.
I've been a customer of Ahrefs for nearly my entire marketing career. At my current company, we've been a customer for 5 years and were on a legacy plan. Last summer they announced plans to migrate everyone to a more expensive AND restrictive plan.
Essentially, the core feature of Ahrefs is searching a website or specific URL through its tool to understand and analyze its traffic, keywords, links, etc. I learn from using this feature, and use it dozens of times everyday.
After being forced to migrate from a legacy account (which I was told I would not be forced off, and then received in-app communications and emails stating I was being forced off - no customer 1-1 communication at all), I migrated to a more expensive plan. After a few weeks of using it, I realized I couldn't use to tool anymore because I hit my usage limit. That limit? 600 events a month.
I've NEVER used a tool that is this expensive that has a basic usage limit. I pay over $2,000 a year to be heavily restricted in the usage of the tool. How am I expected to drive value and learn new features and functionalities of the tool if I can't even use it to the day-to-day requirement level.
I've tried to reach out to a CSM to discuss this, and can't even get past the basic tier-1 customer live chat agent who provides no help outside of a disingenuous "sorry". Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have used this tool for more than 4 years. This tool helped me a lot in doing detailed competitor analysis and backlink analysis. This tool provides in-depth report for all the important things that a SEO expert needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Realtime traffic that they shows on the dashboard seems different and I found it a little bit incorrect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The tool is extremely easy to use, has a good variety of features, and I've had nothing but good experiences with the customer support team. The keyword explorer tool is easy to use, and frequently comes up with relevant suggestions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The backlink builder suggestions are a little generic and unhelpful on the surface. But after diving in a few levels, it can come up with some good suggestions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The UI of the tool is very focused on what's needed for SEO. For example, the keyword research and backlink report feature gives you all the insights to find competitors' SEO strategies and get audience research done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The pricing model is quite complex especially because of the recent introduction of the credit system. Also, the search volume metric is not similar to the data of Google Keyword Planner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the fact that Ahref is very good at backlinks. I just finished a course on SEO, I made use of Ahref's backing analytics and the Free Keyword Generator.
Ahref is also very easy to use when compared to competitors like Semrush, Moz, and Similar Web. Plus they have a lot of tutorials on YouTube which are usually very easy to understand. Sam and Tim usually do justice to these tutorials. I will recommend Ahref to SEO beginners and professionals who want to find quality backlinks to their websites. One of the major flaws of Ahref is the fact that they don't have a free trial. Most SEO platforms like MOZ and SEMrush have a freemium version of their software.
Ahref could also improve on its competitor research. On SEMrush it is called keyword gap analysis which is very comprehensive. If they can integrate this, they will definitely get more customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
