Creating emails is fairly easy, even though the email creator is a little dated. Sending emails is fairly straightforward once you get your lists in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are strict limits on how many contacts you can have in the system, not based on how many are currently in there but on how many were in at the beginning of the month. So, even if I delete many records, I can't replace those with new records until next month. It's a convoluted system, made worse by how restrictive adding in and deleting lists is. You need to make a titled list first, which is separate from a list you are uploading. Then, you must upload a CSV and assign fields every time (the system doesn't remember to pair certain column names with certain fields). Deleting segments is more difficult, which is frustrating because segmentation can help you find non-responsive records to delete every month in order to save space.
This email app now has a forced two-factor authentication feature where you MUST sign in using a mobile phone or with their mobile-phone-number-based mobile app. For a simple email marketing service. This is their way of forcing us to use their "Authy" app. We are a small business and use Sendgrid for sending business emails - we have no use for that.
Overall, it is a clunky system that always takes a more roundabout way to do things, when a simple email marketing tool should be much simpler. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Sendgrid is a terrible and works unprofessionally. Stay away. Use MailChimp or other service. They closed our account and no technical support whatsoever.
Nothing. It's easy to set up and navigate, but they close your account without reason OR NOTIFICATION! And don't return money for their mistakes that affect campaigns. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
They closed our account without any notification saying there's no use in a while but I was there everyday and scheduled even a campaign the day before they closed our account!! So after sending out an email blast, they immediately close your account without reason!? There is NO customer support of any kind. So you'll lose your money. It's a scam. The editor was indeed seamless, and the onboarding process was smooth. But these positives were quickly overshadowed by the amount of issues I encountered during and after my email marketing campaign. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I can't emphasize enough how unreliable and untrustworthy SendGrid's email marketing tool proved to be. My first campaign, sent to over 90,000 customers turned into a disaster. The email links were broken, links were non-functional, and it ended up breaking our company's reputation.
The real frustration began when I saw that my account had been closed without any prior notice. The reason given was that I hadn't been using the service for a while, which was blatantly false. I was desperate for assistance, I reached out to customer service, only to be met with an agonizingly slow response time.
It took an entire week for them to acknowledge my issue and inform me that the email campaign had failed due to some vague IP warming process. The lack of awareness regarding this crucial aspect is unacceptable, especially for a tool that claims to be a professional email marketing solution.
To add, the customer service was shockingly unprofessional. A customer experiencing a catastrophic failure in a 90,000-email marketing campaign should be a top priority. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ease of navgiation and operation. Our junior members could start using it efficiently in a couple of weeks which is a good sign. That leaves more time for the seniors to focus on pressing and important work. All in all, pretty good for the money spent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Felt restrictive when it came to design, layout, and quality. Data migration/list building was buggy at times. We found it good for email blasts but when it came to designing newsletters, we were kind of disappointed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We have been using Twilio SendGrid for sending targeted emails to niche segments as well as for bulk activation campaigns. The best part of Sendgrid is the Custom HTML building platform which allows building any free-form template from scratch as well as copying the HTML code from templates built on other platforms like MoEngage. Tracking global data and well as campaign-wise performance data is also very simple and readily available on the platform. For additional custom-reports, the customer support team readily replies when we raise a ticket. We have also integrated SendGrid with MoEngage, and the DLR reported pushed to MoEngage from SendGrid API allows us to view the delivery report data across platforms. The pricing is on the higher side compared to other platform and embedding links is a very high effort exercise because the SendGrid platform somehow lacks the no-code features. Also, building the domain-authority and email-reputation on SendGrid is a very difficult task and takes a very long time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's got many features that can enhance your email to look good and also great for integration with the website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's not as user-friendly for individuals using it mainly to design the email and sort out the layout. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Twilio Sendgrid helps us create beautiful and engaging emails in minutes, without any coding or design skills. there are also basic pre-made templates to customize and send to subscribers with a few clicks. Track performance of campaigns with easy-to-understand metrics is also valuable. They did a great job overall on the analytics dashboard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
the two factor authentication for login using SMS is too slow, I would use an authenticator app instead with 2MFA if I had the choice, Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've used Sendgrid as both an employee and a founder at past companies and loved it as a product. Now moving away from it because of automated signup/support issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've tried to sign up to use Twilio sendgrid for a new venture and have been completely unable to open an account, despite trying 2-3 times. This is extremely frustrating - I have been a customer for the last 7 years and wanted to continue using the product. Support has been completely unhelpful.
Now exploring competitors - Brevo and Mailchimp. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Nothing that I can think of, it is the best till date Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
That it's reliable, it seems to do a great job managing the delivery of emails and/or diagnostics if your having difficulties with deliveries and a great stats package Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The customer support is not great, I still keep getting charged $250 per month for the email analysis report yet I can't access the reports, very frustrating. Moreover, they need to do a better job of laying out their pricing structure, I feel like it's very convoluted so your costs can skyrocket quickly if you don't pay close attention to emails sent and contacts added on a monthly basis. Or if you have problems with a list and need to delete it, it's not clear at all how to best do that without getting contacts double counted, etc..... Outside of the pricing structure and the report issue, it has been great in terms of email delivery. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
